We have had such an awesome experience with Dr Baker and her staff! Had to look for a dntist in TJ because I could not afford dental care in the U.S.! (So WRONG!) But from Many meeting us in his cab and taking us to her office to our (so far!) 3rd appointment, our experience could not be better! Thankful to live in the San Diego area so it is not quite the trip it would be otherwise Dr. Baker is My Dentist!

Dr Baker is very personable and works hard to make sure you get great results. Also considering I have had over 6 dentist in my life, Dr Baker is the only one who has been able to numb my mouth properly so that it was a pain-free visit. Most dentist do not know how to numb my mouth. She is the great at it.

I am very pleased. The clinic was very clean, the staff all spoke English, and I was picked up at the border and delivered back when we were done. Very friendly staff.

Dr. Baker was so kind and generous with her time. I went in on my first appointment to get my old crowns removed and take the impressions. A few days later, when the new crowns were made, she showed them to me and we weren't happy with the length of a couple of the crowns. She sent them back to that lab that night to get them fixed and stayed past her closing time to finish my appointment since she knew we had to drive back home, which is a 6 hour drive. I was impressed with the overall service and was met with such kindness, that I am sure to go back.

Dr. Baker Is an A++ dentist. My husband comes from three generations of Dentists and is a perfectionist by dental upbringing. The prices are 1/3-1/4 of what $U.S. Dentists charge. Dr. Baker is a cosmetic aesthetic artist. Thus far, I have had (10) zirconium crowns (to prevent future teeth grinding), a root canal ( pain-free & diligent , thanks to her in-house colleague Dr. Ramos), thorough cleanings, multiple fillings, exams and getting ready to embark for (2) more crowns and (3) veneers so that my teeth are sized/shaped more proportionally. Dr. Baker has every detail covered logistically when crossing over the border on foot, and meeting "Manny" a very pleasant & safe taxi driver to being dropped back off to cross back to the US via the "pedestrian lane." Dr. Baker's office can also upon request provide a medical verification/treatment form speeding up your wait via car in the auto traffic lanes back into the US if so desired. I recommend Dr. Baker to everyone I know and feel very fortunate to have been reffrred to her initially by a close friend, Roxy :-) !!!!

I am pleased with the procedures, but the price via the internet was much less for the "normal" extraction. I understand that the extraction of the broken tooth required "surgical extraction", and that I would pay more for it, but I did not expect the same price for the normal extraction just because an oral surgeon was doing the procedure.

Small but clean and friendly office. Excellent experience - price was less than quoted and we would go back to her. We arrived planning to spend about $1500 for our regular maintenance for twp of us, plus a root canal and crown for my husband. Turned out that hubby didn't need a root canal (he was told to stop scrubbing his gums so hard with the Sonicare toothbrush) instead they applied a tooth-coloured sealer along the gum line at the sore tooth. For the 2 of us we paid less than $300 for cleanings, X-rays, exams and his treatment.

Dr. Baker was slightly higher priced than some other local clinics, but she and her lovely staff provide excellent service. I had three crowns and a cleaning.

At first I was very sceptical about getting dental work done in Mexico but decided to go ahead and check it out. My experience was very good. Dr Baker runs a very professional office and the work was excellent. I had a root canal and crown done on one of my molars. It took two visits.

This is my first time with a female dentist. I found her touch lighter and gentler than male dentists. The office was clean and attractive.

Myself and my husband were treated. Everything went very smoothly and we are extremely happy with experience at Shirley Bakers dental office. She and her staff are truly professionals. We were very comfortable with every aspect of our visits. Charges were exactly as quoted. We will recommend her to everyone.

I had 2 root canals and a bridge replacement done and they did an excellent job! What would have costed me around $4500.00 in California at my dentist costs me $1580 here. The courtesy taxi shuttle from the border to the office is a very nice perk and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I made an appointment with Dr. Baker with some trepidation because I had never had any medical or dental work done in a foreign country, thus my anxiety level was quite high when I entered the office of Dr. Baker. However, I was greeted warmly by her two assistants who spoken fluent English which, by itself, put me at ease. We also bantered about in easy-going conversation which also relaxed me even more. What also made me feel more confident about my choice of a clinic was the cheerfulness of the waiting room. By the time I saw Dr. Baker I felt much better about my visit, and she invited me into her work area, which was also very cheerful, modern and very orderly and clean. In other words, a very professional looking work environment, where we engaged in a conversation about my dental concerns and needs. After relaxing me with her perfect English and warm personality, she quickly got to work in examining my teeth and came up with her recommendations. What she recommended was very close to my wishes; thus I felt that she was being very honest with me in that she did not oversubscribe what I would interpret to be unnecessary work. Having been assured and convinced that she was a very competent dentist, we quickly agreed on the work to be done, 12 crowns to replace discolored and worn-down teeth in the "smile zone". The price quoted at this point was exactly the price paid at the end. No surprises or extra charges tacked on. In conclusion, I can heartily recommend Dr. Baker for your dental needs. Her professionalism was as high as I've ever seen and her focus on the details of her work resulted in a perfect smile. At the end she invited me back for any final adjustments to the bite. I've decided to keep Dr. Baker as my primary dentist!

Dr. Baker is hands-down the best dentist on the planet. In fact, she's a miracle worker! (keep reading!) I'd been putting off some dental work for years, not knowing which dentist to trust after moving to California. Plus, my career has me in the public eye (I've had my own TV show, etc.) so my teeth are very important! Luckily an incredibly "meticulous" friend recommended Dr. Baker. For over 10+ years I have suffered with unexplained sinus infections + debilitating fevers/brain fog, but Dr. Baker immediately saw something unusual around an old root canal x-ray that raised suspicion. Mind you, when I lived in NY I would go to high-end holistic specialists who never caught this, even though I complained about this tooth every year for over a decade! Dr. Baker's team found a drill bit had been left inside one of the roots, causing the pain + infections all these years! Dr. Baker and her staff are, hands-down, the best I've seen. I've gotten several other procedures done there too: 2 more root canals, all of my mercury fillings removed, teeth whitening, old cavities replaced, etc. not only getting better service, but also costing me a small fraction of what it would have cost me in the States. I'll admit, I was nervous about going to Tijuana for treatments, but I was shocked by how easy the entire process was. The location is actually so easy to get to, and Dr. Baker's driver picked me up right across the boarder - always on time, and with a smile. It actually couldn't be more convenient, safe and pleasant! And her entire staff are all so friendly -- I was there so many times last year, they are all starting to become like family. I will continue to go to Dr. Baker forever. She's an angel!

I was quoted and paid about $1700 total for my work done. This included a root canal, 3 crowns/build-ups, and some cavity work. I was impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff. Dr. Bakers' chair side manner is unlike any dentist I've ever seen. She is friendly, warm, and comforting. She is up front about the work needed, rather than the mechanic style dentistry that I've experienced. I have been telling everyone I know to take the drive down to see her, because it is so worth it.

Due to complications that were compounded by expensive dentistry & maxillofacial surgery over the past 12+ years, I had been living in constant pain. I'm self employed and ineligible for Dental; a couple years back I had spent a large sum of money on dental treatment for my wife and me; it was outlandish. Dr. Baker came recommended by a close friend, so when the pain became unbearable, I made an appointment. I was very reluctant to venture into TJ. However, it was nothing like I expected. Dr. Baker and her staff were able to resolve the pain I had been suffering with for years. Thanks to her excellent work and post treatment care, the area is now pain-free. I never would have imagined this to be possible. Given her dedication and post-op phone calls, free follow-ups, and consultations with colleagues re complications of my jaw, I really think Dr. B cares more about her patients' well-being and the administration of proper health care than about financial incentives. My second procedure was a root canal performed by their specialist. It was without a doubt the best root canal procedure I've had. The dentist was very skilled and thorough. I felt no post-procedure pain -- a first for me. The crown looks aesthetically perfect; my wife couldn't tell which tooth had the new crown. Every visit to Dr. Baker's has been marked by professionalism, courtesy and dependability. This clinic is the only place I plan on going for dental anything. The office sets up the logistics that get you from the pedestrian border crossing to Dr. B's office and back to the US border entry line, so I've never felt left in the lurch. This was my biggest concern before the first visit. I'm very lucky to have found Dr. B, and I cannot thank her & her staff enough for the wonderful medical care.

I wish I had read these other reviews before traveling over 1000 miles for my appointment... Upon arrival, i was presented with a higher price and for a more abbreviated procedure than what was discussed over the phone. I was extremely disappointed since i came so far but i felt very uncomfortable and unsatisfied so i had to cancel. She was very rude and could care less about wasting my time. She threatened to not give me my full money back. I told her I'd be writing her a terrible review online and then she threatened to sue me! In the end, she did give me a full refund but since she was so unbelievably rude, I'm still writing a review as promised. Although I highly recommend you don't give your business to Dr Shirley Baker, if you do, please make sure you get what you're looking for in writing before you go.
