Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.
An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I have been coming here since moving to Oregon. Even after moving to NW Portland I still travel down to Tigard for all of my dental needs and don't plan on changing.

Dr. Lam is amazing! I moved about an hour away for work but I make the choice to drive to Tigard so I could keep her as my dentist. Everyone on the team is so lovely and I feel comfortable coming to get my teeth looked at. :)

I love this place about as much as one can love a dentist office. Always very up front about costs and what your insurance will cover, never have issues with billing. They also don't use scare tactics like my last dentist did. I usually left the last place with a lot of anxiety and more appointments than my insurance could cover in a year, while everyone here just seems very honest and reassuring. Always very kind and professional.

1. Don't do too many ratings. 2. Hate Dentistry so bad it's gotta be a problem before I go. 3. Called 20+ places before coming to this place. By far easiest to schedule a emergency visit. 4. Loved the staff so much I actually schedule a regular visit. Only van do Friday as I work graveyard, but they got me in the very next week Highly recommend making this your go to place.

Caution: Get a secind opinion . Tigard Modern Dentistry on Schollsferry clained I had gum disease and a huge list of issues and a quitr for $3.000. Since then I've been to 3 dentists to get an estimate for braces, and they all said my gums and teeth were fine, after they did extensive xrays.

Had two appointment here, one was pretty straightforward and was a typical experience. Second one was pretty frustrating, two fillings and routine checkup/cleaning took almost 3 hours, one of which was spent waiting in the chair alone without any update on what was taking so long. I see I'm not the first review to have this type of experience so I thought it was worth sharing.

Dr. Lam and her staff are wonderful. I have severe anxiety about my dental care and have had years of deferred care. I found myself in dire need of an extraction (knowing full well that I had other bad teeth), but the pain gave me no choice but to find relief. I called their office after a random google search. They got me in within two hours. I ended up having 4 teeth removed. Dr. Lam was quick, gentle and very compassionate. No shame or judgement. The entire staff was caring, efficient and thorough. I am well on my way to dental health and have the entire staff at Tigard Modern Dentistry to thank.
