Dr. Chung grew up in Southern California and earned his undergraduate degree at Loma Linda La Sierra University in 1990. Four years later, he received his doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Chung then enjoyed private practice in the Beaverton area from 1994 to 2013. After two years providing care in a large group practice, Dr. Chung realized that private practice allowed him to serve his patients better. In 2016, he started Tigard City Dental PC and transitioned retiring Dr. Richard Johnsons patients to the practice.
Dr. Chung appreciates the trusting relationships developed with each of his patients. Personalized treatment plans and genuine smiles crafted to fit each patients unique needs are central to his philosophy. He enjoys implementing the latest dental technology in his practice, and he focuses on finding innovations that create the ultimate dental experience for his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Chung likes working out and playing golf. He also enjoys hiking various local trails in the Pacific Northwest. His favorite experience involved taking his family on a dental mission trip to a small island in the South Pacific. While celebrating his 20-year wedding anniversary during that time, Dr. Chung and his family treated over 80 patients in four days. The hard work provided intangible rewards for everyone, deepening his desire to plan local and international mission trips in the future.
Chloee is a 2019 graduate of the Oregon Institute of Technology (OJT) with her bachelors degree of Science in Dental Hygiene and a native of beautiful, Central Oregon. She truly enjoys getting to know all of our patients and excels at helping them to optimize their oral health, while her gentle touch and kind heart put everyone at ease. Outside of the office, Chloee and her husband enjoy being home with their two sweet kitties, spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, or anything outdoors, like hiking or snowboarding.
Robyn really is a familiar face to most of our patients because she has been working alongside Dr. Chung as a chairside dental assistant since 1995. Their seamless teamwork is combination of experience, skill and confidence that comforts all of our patients. She loves building relationships with patients, as she eases their dental fears and anxieties and you just know that under her mask, she is always smiling. Robyn and her husband of 29 years, have two grown sons, 3 grandkids and a cockapoo named Rascal. When she is not at work, Robyn likes spending her time with family, camping, reading and going to the gym.
Barbs career in dentistry started in 1978 and includes 15 years caring for patients in an orthodontic office. A native of Tigard, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. After graduating in 1996, she started working with Dr. Richard Johnson. Shes excited to continue supporting Dr. Chung and our remarkable family of patients.
Barb values the relationships she develops with each patient under her care. She focuses on positive coaching that enhances wellness, blended with genuine empathy. Barbs personal experience included extensive dental care as a patient before entering the profession as a provider. While her family expressed surprise at her career move, she expresses only positive memories of her dental visits. Her experience drove her desire to contribute to a positive atmosphere that helps others even when theyre anxious about their treatment.
Barbs favorite quote is from Dr. Suess: Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow will be another one. She even painted it on the wall of her beach house before changing it to: Today was great because great is even better than good! Both phrases reflect her optimistic outlook on life.

This place takes all your anxiety away. Everyone is so kind and is judgment free. They are very thorough on what treatment you need. I definitely recommend this dentist.

Honestly, 5 stars is not enough. Dr. Chung is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. After leaving a larger chain dental group, I was discouraged and felt like I wouldn't find any dentist who would listen. THEN... I read the reviews for Dr. Chung and got scheduled for a new patient visit. In the past month almost all of my cavities (which my previous dentist failed to catch) have been filled and if they aren't filled, I have appointments to get them filled. Making appointments has been so easy and now I don't dread going to the dentist. The process each time is always so fast (I had an 8:30 appt for 2 fillings and was done by 9) while also being caring and making sure I felt heard. I used to worry about Novocain shots before a filling due to past bad experiences but I have barely felt the ones from Dr. Chung. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful. This office makes me feel like a person and not just a number or a bill. Thank you Dr. Chung and staff for being the best!

I've had good dentists and bad dentists and Dr. Chung is by far the best of them all. Not only is he polite, professional, and kind, he has exceptional dental skills, including the more complex dental issues like crowns and bridges. He has even saved two of my teeth from reabsorption. And his staff is not only exceptional in their jobs, they are top professionals with super personalities. You will have one of the nicest dental visits you can imagine with Tigard City Dental.

Had a great cleaning with Chloe today, she was efficient and informative. I did not know that for best results with your sensodyne toothpaste, you shouldn't rinse your mouth out with water immediately after brushing. Kind of sounds like a no-brainer after she explained it to me, but I think we've all been taught that after you brush, you spit and rinse! Learned something new today, Thanks Chloe! Oh, Dr. Chung is great too! ;)

Dr. Chung, Robin, and Shannon are who I met today. This was my first visit to Tigard City Dental and it was a wonderful experience from the onset when I called to make my initial appointment with Shannon. She was well organized, informative, and patient with all my questions. Today when I went in for my initial exam, I was greeted brightly by everyone and enjoyed my conversations with Robin, Dr. Chung, and Shannon. They are a quality dental office who truly cares about the well-being of their patients. I felt so well taken care of and despite the work I've got ahead of me, I'm excited to work with Dr. Chung and his crew. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome today!

I wanted to share how happy and thrilled I am to have found such an amazing dentistry. I have been to my fair share and I have to say this is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I had some follow up dental work completed today and could not be happier with Dr. Chung and his entire staff. Their competence and professionalism is consistently at the highest level. So back in December I had some tooth pain and at the time my current dentist (Gentle Dental) could not see me for three or four days. Tigard City Dental was able to see me and diagnose what was wrong with my tooth. Dr. Chung was able to help get rid of the pain and was very knowledgeable and laid out the plan to get this tooth fixed. The dental work was great without any pain. I have now switched to Tigard City Dental for my dental needs. I recommend you do too!!

Initially had them look at my Mouth Guard. It has become worn and rubs hard on my tongue. They were able to rehabilitate it and looks like new. Next I had my teeth cleaned by Chloe. She was very gentle and thurough. All in all a very good experience.

Dr Chung and the entire staff are such a delight!!! They're fun, engaging, and ensure your comfort with each visit. My husband and I are relatively new to the area and are incredibly happy with Tigard City Dental as our new dental care providers. I don't think I can say that I've ever had that much fun visiting the dentist before but now I can because this staff is truly one of a kind. Friendly and hilarious and treats you like a lifetime friend. Not to mention that they are honest and transparent with regard to your dental health and they ensure you're provided the right information and options.
