Dr. Chung grew up in Southern California and earned his undergraduate degree at Loma Linda La Sierra University in 1990. Four years later, he received his doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Chung then enjoyed private practice in the Beaverton area from 1994 to 2013. After two years providing care in a large group practice, Dr. Chung realized that private practice allowed him to serve his patients better. In 2016, he started Tigard City Dental PC and transitioned retiring Dr. Richard Johnsons patients to the practice.
Dr. Chung appreciates the trusting relationships developed with each of his patients. Personalized treatment plans and genuine smiles crafted to fit each patients unique needs are central to his philosophy. He enjoys implementing the latest dental technology in his practice, and he focuses on finding innovations that create the ultimate dental experience for his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Chung likes working out and playing golf. He also enjoys hiking various local trails in the Pacific Northwest. His favorite experience involved taking his family on a dental mission trip to a small island in the South Pacific. While celebrating his 20-year wedding anniversary during that time, Dr. Chung and his family treated over 80 patients in four days. The hard work provided intangible rewards for everyone, deepening his desire to plan local and international mission trips in the future.
Chloee is a 2019 graduate of the Oregon Institute of Technology (OJT) with her bachelors degree of Science in Dental Hygiene and a native of beautiful, Central Oregon. She truly enjoys getting to know all of our patients and excels at helping them to optimize their oral health, while her gentle touch and kind heart put everyone at ease. Outside of the office, Chloee and her husband enjoy being home with their two sweet kitties, spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, or anything outdoors, like hiking or snowboarding.
Robyn really is a familiar face to most of our patients because she has been working alongside Dr. Chung as a chairside dental assistant since 1995. Their seamless teamwork is combination of experience, skill and confidence that comforts all of our patients. She loves building relationships with patients, as she eases their dental fears and anxieties and you just know that under her mask, she is always smiling. Robyn and her husband of 29 years, have two grown sons, 3 grandkids and a cockapoo named Rascal. When she is not at work, Robyn likes spending her time with family, camping, reading and going to the gym.
Barbs career in dentistry started in 1978 and includes 15 years caring for patients in an orthodontic office. A native of Tigard, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. After graduating in 1996, she started working with Dr. Richard Johnson. Shes excited to continue supporting Dr. Chung and our remarkable family of patients.
Barb values the relationships she develops with each patient under her care. She focuses on positive coaching that enhances wellness, blended with genuine empathy. Barbs personal experience included extensive dental care as a patient before entering the profession as a provider. While her family expressed surprise at her career move, she expresses only positive memories of her dental visits. Her experience drove her desire to contribute to a positive atmosphere that helps others even when theyre anxious about their treatment.
Barbs favorite quote is from Dr. Suess: Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow will be another one. She even painted it on the wall of her beach house before changing it to: Today was great because great is even better than good! Both phrases reflect her optimistic outlook on life.
