Dr. Brett McCown spent his youth in Victoria, Texas, and is a graduate of St. Josephs High School. In 1998 he graduated summa cum laude from Texas Lutheran University with degrees in biology and Spanish. Following a brief career in the biomedical field, he returned to school to pursue dentistry and earned his DDS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in 2007.
From 2007 to 2010, Dr. McCown practiced dentistry with Columbia VCH in Wenatchee, Washington. Dr. McCown later joined Tier One Dental in December of 2010. He speaks fluent Spanish, which quickly puts our Spanish-speaking patients at ease. He is skilled in implant dentistry, restorative dentistry, dentures and oral surgery. Outside the office, Dr. McCown enjoys spending time with his two daughters. Other favorite activities include hunting, fishing and cooking on the barbeque pit.
Dr. Jacob Johnson is a graduate of the University of Texas Dental School in Houston. Dr. Johnson is proud of his profession and takes pride in delivering detailed and conscientious care, helping a patient improve their smile which in turn can be life-changing. Dr. Johnson enjoys all areas of dentistry including pediatric, restorative, crowns, implants and dentures.
He grew up just outside of Houston where he developed a love of sports and the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities include hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoys meeting new people and being involved in his church. In 2016 he and his wife made two big decisions. The first was to make Seguin Texas their home and the second was the choice to start his dental career at Tier One Dental. Dr. Johnson and his wife Jessie have three children and one frisky cat that keep them busy.
Hygiene Team Tammy, Shelley, Allison and Nikole make up our dedicated Hygiene Team. They are described by our patients as caring, gentle and thorough. During your visit, they will assist the doctor with your exam, take digital X-rays to screen for tooth decay, abscesses, infections and bone loss caused by gum disease. Oral cancer screening and periodontal charting are also part of the exam. They are skilled in routine cleanings, from toddlers to adults. Additional preventive care they deliver are fluoride treatments, sealants and desensitizing agents. They are also trained in treating periodontal disease (gum disease) with various methods. They have your best interest at heart when it comes to your dental health.

Dental Assistant Team We think Tier One Dentals team of Registered Dental Assistants is the best in the area. And our reviewers think so as well. Dawn, Chrissy and Anna will make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible. Delivering care with the gentlest touch and being empathetic to their patients feelings, fears and needs is what they are known for. They start each visit reviewing your medical history and medications. They will take and record your blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen level. They will take any digital images the doctor has requested. These may be intraoral images for cavity screening, a panoramic image for evaluation of bone loss or location of unerupted teeth, or a three-dimensional image used for extraction of wisdom teeth and implant placement.

I'm new to the area and looking for a dentist. A crown popped off my tooth accelerating the process. So I tried Tier One. Good choice, the atmosphere was congenial, assistants we courteous and professional. They made me feel comfortable being their. The dentist was thorough explaining the process in a layman's terms. In and out quickly. I will be going back

Due to neglect, I have bad teeth but this road ends here at Tier 1 Dental. A new set of dentures is coming. These past years working with doc McGowan I have seen many teeth retired and all the assistance from their staff have been a big part of that plan. Very grateful for all the advice and work.

Competent & qualified staff. All the employees are very friendly & professional. Dr. McGowan is efficient- doesn't try to give you any more treatment than what's needed. It's clear that a lot of thought went into patient comfort in building this practice ... from the warm reception & waiting room beverages, to the well-stocked bird feeders at each oversized window in front of every exam chair... Turning what is normally a dreaded experience into a pleasant one.

My family of 6 loves Tier One! We have been to other dental offices, but really enjoy the level of professionalism, and comfort Tier One offers. Everyone from the dentists to the hygienists to the office staff is kind, considerate, and helpful. The person who usually tends to the front desk was gone, and nobody missed a beat filling in for her even though it was not their normal job. They are all great!

Went in today for some fillings and Anna and doctor Johnson took real good care of me...I've been coming here for several years now and I must say it's been the best office I've been to..When I get my Anesthetic shot I hardly feel anything and they do the job rapidly and efficiently..From the moment I walk in to the moment I walk out I am treated with the outmost respect..I totally recommend this dentist and I promise you won't be disappointed...They will welcome you..And to me this will be the only place I ever come to..

I'm fairly new to the seguin area and was in a hunt for a new dentist, which I thought would be difficult considering the high amount of anxiety I have when it comes to the dentist. I had very damaged teeth due to a domestic violence situation paired with heavy previous drug use and these guys were super great from the first visit. They helped me get a plan together (that were still working on), and I had to put the bigger plan to the back burner to care for my daughters teeth first and my wedding. My front two teeth were in the worst shape so I obviously wanted to fix that before the wedding. I went in and Dr. Johnson completely rebuilt my front two teeth with composite bonding. But, while he was there, he threw in a sweet surprise! He also fixed a few other small areas in the smile zone as well!! I am so beyond thankful for everything they have done for me. I was able to confidently smile marrying the man of my dreams.

Best dental office, hands down. They know their patients when they walk in and greet them. Allison is a great hygentist and Dr. Johnson a great dentist. Everyone is friendly and kind. I wouldn't go anywhere else and would recommend them to everyone.
