Dr. Tichy grew up in Canada but has called Oregon his home for the past twenty years. His first career was in professional alpine ski racing and coaching, where he collected multiple national and international titles and records.
Once retired from skiing, Dr. Tichy received his undergraduate degree from Portland State University followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University. Dr. Tichy belongs to a unique group of dental practitioners that use a dental microscope for the majority of their procedures. This technique allows Dr. Tichy to practice highly accurate, evidence-based dentistry, with a less invasive approach that is more comfortable for patients.
Dr. Tichy is a kind and gifted dentist who loves to provide gentle care for adults and children as well as educate the entire family about the importance of preventive care and how it relates to our overall health. As a husband and father of two young daughters, Dr. Tichy understands how to work with adults and children alike, and the unique approaches to apply to both.

I had a cracked veneer cap on my front tooth Dr Tichy got me in right away I was in and out of there with a new and approved Smile in less than an hour. Dr. Tichy and his staff are friendly and personable. It's a wonderful family dentist experience.

Dr. Tichy is an wonderful dentist and I am very picky. He has excellent attention to detail and I have never had the experience of seeing my teeth under a microscope, but it really enhances the experience. I appreciate that I can see exactly what he is talking about while he is working on my teeth and I feel educated about my options. His entire staff is also very kind and welcoming.

When I tell you this is the best dentist I've ever been too in my entire life, I really mean it! I never been to a dentist who pays so much attention to detail and won't allow me to leave until I am completely satisfied. Highly recommend Tichy Dental. Came here last summer for an achy tooth when no one else was available on short notice and Dr. Tichy made room to see me and I been coming back ever since for all my dental work and cleanings. If I could give Dr. Tichy and his team 100 stars, I would! Two days ago, I woke up at 1am with severe pain and swelling on the right side of my face. I knew I had a tooth that had a cavity brewing for a while, but due to having EXTREME dental anxiety, I neglected to take care of it in a timely manner. I read some great reviews from other patients of Tichy Dental and decided to give them a call as soon as they were open. First, the receptionist was so incredibly sweet and gentle on the phone, I knew right away that I had called the right place. She was able to get me in for an appointment that same day. When I walked in, I was kindly greeted by the receptionist and the dental assistant Barb. They made me feel safe immediately and catered to my overwhelming fears that (embarrassingly) caused me to cry a couple times. I was taken back to the chair, given a blanket and had X-rays done....then the miracle worker Dr. Tichy walked in. He explained that I would need a root canal (ugh, we're go I thought), but he believed the tooth could be saved. He wrote a prescription for antibiotics to get the infection under control and I was scheduled for my root canal 2 days later (today). The antibiotics did the trick to get my physical pain under control, but mentally, I was a mess this morning. I have NEVER had a dental procedure without heavy sedation (like being all the way knocked out) so I was extremely worried about having a root canal done without laughing gas (at the very least). When I say not even nitrous oxide was needed for this, I MEAN IT. Remember the part where I said Dr. Tichy is a miracle worker? Yeah...he numbed my face so well and worked so efficiently that I actually FELL ASLEEP!!!! Never in a million years did I think that would be possible. And on top of that, he was able to save my tooth!! I'm sitting here writing this not even an hour after my procedure and I'm actually excited to go back in a month to get my crown. Like, whaaaaaat?? How is this possible??!! From the bottom of my heart, I'm extending my deepest gratitude to Dr. Tichy and his staff! You guys are first class and I'm so happy I didn't let the fear of no sedation get in the way of seeing you for my dental needs. Thank you thank you thank you. I will be a lifelong patient of yours and will recommend you to everyone I know. And to anybody who has dental anxiety....don't walk, run into Tichy Dental and give them a chance to ease your fears. I promise you won't be disappointed.

The team at Tichy Dental have been amazing. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job. Dr. Tichy's explanations of the procedures, as well as the assistance of his microscope allowed for more confidence in how and why the work was to be done. Amazing experience every time, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist in the West Linn area.

This was my first visit and I was thoroughly impressed. The staff was very friendly and Dr. Tichy was top notch. I had a filling put in and it was pretty effortless and I watched the whole thing with the mirror above the chair.

Dr. Tichy and staff are great. They're highly professional and do an excellent dental work. I also appreciate the fact that they're set up for electronic processes, including filling out patient forms, scheduling appointments, billing, payments (Apple Pay), etc. Because of the pandemic this minimizes touchpoints but it's also really efficient. Definitely a five-star rating.

I really appreciated Dr. Tichy's utilization of an operating microscope which allows the patient to actually see whats going on in their mouth-especially helpful when he explains what he is seeing/giving you pointers. Positive experience, will be returning.

This dentist office is not lgbt friendly. Everyone in my family used to go here but we've decided to find a new dentist since my last appointment. I had called into Tichy's office months ago informing them of my legal gender and name change. They changed it in the system and said it was no problem. After the medical assistant finished my cleaning tichey came in the room to see how it went. The assistant purposely and repeatedly referred to me as my old gender to tichey. While he nodded in agreement with her. (Despite me calling them months ago informing them of the legal gender and name change) in this situation where they've been informed, this comes off as beyond clueless or purposely malicious. Either way I wouldn't trust them with my teeth again. afterwards the assistant kept trying to tell me jokes while I stayed silent cause I was just trying not to cry. If you're part of the lgbt community I'd highly advise you to not book an appointment here, to avoid a similar experience to mine.

We were lucky to find Tichy dental after searching for a new dentist and having tried someone else that I wasn't thrilled with. I was able to make appointments for both my young kids and myself. They are booked out until January but were able to get us on a wait list. We will be patients of Dr. Tichy as long as he's there! GREAT experience especially for my 9 year old who needed a very large filling done and wasn't sure about the whole thing. If you're looking for a family dentist give them a try!

Dr Mike Tichy is an excellent dentist- I care a lot about having a really good dentist and he has exceeded my expectations on every level. My teeth feel exceptionally well cared for these days, which is always a good thing.
