In 1969, a few dedicated individuals realized Woonsocket needed a place to provide quality health care to the people who need it most. What started with a few people volunteering their time out of a public housing complex became a full-fledged health center just few years later. In 2001, Thundermist merged with the Health Center of South County, and in 2003, established a comprehensive health center and a school-based health center in West Warwick. Thundermist is at the forefront of health care delivery. In 2000, we were the second health center to be accredited by the Joint Commission. In 2005, we renovated an old warehouse in Woonsocket into a flagship health center. This site has been nationally recognized for its innovations in patient flow and use of technology. In 2006, we transitioned to our electronic record, eClinicalWorks. In 2011, we opened the states first health center site fully designed as a patient centered medical home, converting an old mill building in West Warwick. Also in 2011, Thundermist was the first Rhode Island community health center to achieve patient centered medical home accreditation from NCQA; we are now NCQA accredited at the highest level in all of our eligible departments.Thundermist receives Health & Human Services (HHS) funding and has Federal Public Health Services (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
Thundermist follows the National Standards on Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services. We provide translators as needed and employ a diverse workforce. All of our buildings are fully accessible to patients and staff with mobility challenges.
Thundermist understands that as a health care provider we have a responsibility to improve the health of our patients that extends beyond the exam room. This drives our commitment to health and wellness services and health advocacy work. Non-clinical programs of which we are very proud include our participation in Health Equity Zones and our community garden and farmers markets.

Whoever answers the phone has too much attitude not professional at all. Some people that call are In excruciating pain and they call to ask a few questions and get attitude and short answer little to no effort to help someone!! I don't recommend!!!

This place is Thundermist Dental This place is awesome! I'v been to many good dentist and this place tops them all. I had to have a tooth extracted and I never felt pain. And they had to dig deep. I had a broken tooth and it was one of my back tooth. Didn't feel the needle they used to numb my gums and root. They are non judgemental no matter who you are and what kind of insurance you do or do not have. Or if most of your teeth are rotted. The girls at the front desk help make you feel comfortable if you're showing anxiety. The way they work is you can only make an appointment on the first Monday of the month where they schedule your appointment. Unless it's an emergency. Once you're in the system you can schedule an appointment anytime. They have many patients so call early on that first Monday. This dental practice is very busy and hard to get into. But they are worth it. They are worth waiting for though. They seem to have the latest equipment and good chairside manner. I love them a lot. Don't be nervous. While going to the dentist is never something people like to do, this practice makes you very comfortable. I can now make appointments any day. I don't have to wait until Monday now to make an appointment.

I have always had a good experience in this dental office. Today, I had cavity filling procedure done. Dr. Coster did an excellent job! and the dental assistant Melissa did a great job as well. The service was exceptional. Thank you!

I have big time anxiety with going to the dentist. This place is very nice and non judgemental. I was put at ease the minute I went in for an emergency appointment. Very comfortable with coming back and becoming a regular patient UPDATE: Big thanks to Dr Maulik and his assistant Cassandra as well as reception. They have by far made my experience at a dentist so much less anxiety provoking and such a positive experience. Cassandra always makes sure I'm doing ok while Dr Maulik is working on my teeth and Dr Maulik himself is very good at what he does. He's moves as quick as he can and makes sure I'm not in pain. Even when they give me reminders to keep breathing, it's the little things like that that are helpful and comforting. Thank you so much!!!

I'm at 3/6 of my urgent dental appointments, so I'm still in the middle of getting work done, and every single hygienist has been the most kind, professional, and helpful. My dentist, Dr. Kapoor, is curt, but that is sometimes expected from doctors. His help, along with the help of the hygienists, has been a dream.

Wow cant say enough about how they saved me from my pain loss of work. Professional kind understanding...I was only upset that to become a regular patient here there is a yr wait list. But i will definitely be back. Money was not there priority it was me..i walked in and within 5 min a dentist was by my side taking care of my bad tooth. Thank you! You guys are amzing

While discussing the details of my visit with Dr. Tara Prasad she appeared rushed and annoyed that I had questions and expectations regarding my procedure. While starting my filling she pulled my lip much harder than necessary nearly tearing my gum. Upon requesting her to be more gentle she became defensive and asked me repeatedly if I would like to speak with her manager to which I declined. I asked her to continue which she refused stating that she "didnt think we were a good fit". I will be finding a new dentist office. Some of the staff here were really great and friendly, most notably the assistants that helped with my 4 year old sons filling. Several other staff here who's names I did not get seemed to have an attitude problem as well. I'm a pretty accepting person but it seems inappropriate to exhibit this type of behavior in such a serious medical environment.

This place is awful!!! I have a child with anxiety issues and the staff at the front were horrible. The dentist was great with him, and was willing to do his dentistry work, but the "office manager" refused to schedule appointments, work with his issues and recommended he go to a different dentist even after explaining to her multiple times that new doctors and such is to much of a huge struggle for him!!! I asked for a patient advocate which she bypassed the question completely and told me he needs a specialist when the dentist he just saw said he didn't!! When did she become a dentist? I would not recommend going here. They just rush you in and out, not taking the time to care for patients!!

I went to Thundermist for an upgrade on my dentures. About a month later, I walked out with dentures that gave me buckteeth. I have NEVER worn them a day since.
