In 1969, a few dedicated individuals realized Woonsocket needed a place to provide quality health care to the people who need it most. What started with a few people volunteering their time out of a public housing complex became a full-fledged health center just few years later. In 2001, Thundermist merged with the Health Center of South County, and in 2003, established a comprehensive health center and a school-based health center in West Warwick. Thundermist is at the forefront of health care delivery. In 2000, we were the second health center to be accredited by the Joint Commission. In 2005, we renovated an old warehouse in Woonsocket into a flagship health center. This site has been nationally recognized for its innovations in patient flow and use of technology. In 2006, we transitioned to our electronic record, eClinicalWorks. In 2011, we opened the states first health center site fully designed as a patient centered medical home, converting an old mill building in West Warwick. Also in 2011, Thundermist was the first Rhode Island community health center to achieve patient centered medical home accreditation from NCQA; we are now NCQA accredited at the highest level in all of our eligible departments.Thundermist receives Health & Human Services (HHS) funding and has Federal Public Health Services (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
Thundermist follows the National Standards on Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services. We provide translators as needed and employ a diverse workforce. All of our buildings are fully accessible to patients and staff with mobility challenges.
Thundermist understands that as a health care provider we have a responsibility to improve the health of our patients that extends beyond the exam room. This drives our commitment to health and wellness services and health advocacy work. Non-clinical programs of which we are very proud include our participation in Health Equity Zones and our community garden and farmers markets.

I have been a patient of Thundermist Dental of West Warwick for 8 years. My dental hygenist told me at a cleaning that the crown on my implant was loose. I called for an appointment with my regular dentist there. She left a message that she wouldn't look at it and I should go back to the surgeon who did the implant. I found that the surgeon who did the implant was no longer in practice and my dentist at the time who glued the crown on was also no longer in practice. I called Thundermist back and was told that my dentist there had made her decision and I was on my own. There was No referral and No recommendation. I feel like I was left in the lurch and I am Extremely disappointed in Thundermist.

I have had pretty good experiences here with the exception of the front desk staff. They act as if you are a nuisance or trouble. Heavens forbid they should lift their head up to see if they can help you. On a positive note, Dr. Roberts was super and efficient. I appreciate that very much.

Not sure where all the Hate comes from however from my personal experience I came In on a emergency visit in alot of pain and uncomfortable due to a infection, I was given antibiotics and made a apt the flowing week. The antibiotics certainly did help bring the swelling down and making the pain bearable which helped me continue my day to day routine. My extraction was painless and conformable and they truly do care in making you comfortable..looking forward to having all my dental work performed there. Thanks thundermist!

Ive gone for cleaning after my insurance switched and this became coverage so i started going and weeks in started experiencing problems w my gums and my teeth, all i went in for was a cleaning and ended up with mouth infections, i am a spokes person for my company my teeth and appearance is everything to me and im highly upset and enraged with my service. i do not recommend anyone to go here unless u hate yourself

I have 2 broken teeth currently. Went to the office for an appt on 1/5 and I was told the dentist couldn't pull it because it is on my sinuses and that she didn't feel comfortable taking it out. No antibiotics, nothing for pain. The tooth is cutting my tongue open raw. I can barely eat and drinking anything gives me a blinding sharp pain. I get that she didn't feel comfortable but to make me wait over a month to be seen by the more knowledgeable doctor...not prescribe anything for infection or pain...tomorrow I will be calling the dept of health on Monday. My BP in the office was 172/70 if I have a heart attack from pain we all know who was neglectful. I hate the dentist I'm petrified but that doesn't mean to not help me when I'm need of it. Why did I go to the appt if they weren't gonna do anything to help me...oh so they can collect payment from the insurance that I work for to maintain but can't get a tooth pulled. I would recommend not going to Thundermist Dental. They are neglectful they should take lessons from thundermist medical of W.W

Other than it taking a couple weeks to get my tooth pulled it was a great experience. Dr Sharma was great extraction was painless her assistant was great as well . Just a good experience. Thank you !

I have been waiting for emergency appointment for my teeth and in pain and swelling you're telling me I have to wait until the end of the month to call back unprofessional and I've been in pain for almost two weeks now it is not fair to those who really need help they need to speed up and really help those who need help not picking choose when they're going to do appointments you should understand how the patient feels that's their job understand their patients and get it done immediately I don't even think they're worth a star at this point now very unprofessional but they want people to go to them maybe you should show more respect for those who really need help& git them appointment asap just may more people will respect thundermist dental of west Warwick R.I amen God see all remember that good an bad

The Dentist is so caring. She actually listens.. I suffered severe tooth loss within a few years because of illness. It was devastating. Yet the helped make it easier for me to accept and find options .

Tried to make an appointment 2 months ago they say they're over booked and will call me back. They never called back. Called a minute ago and tried again this time letting them know it is now an emergency, no help the girl who answered was completely clueless

Dr. Mei Dong is the best dentist around I been going to her for almost 10 years she is so nice and helpful the best at root canals I definitely recommend everyone to her and her office all her staff and employees are so nice and have great customer service.

This place is horrid i went there had 2 teeth extracted Dr. Roberts had a hard time pulling my teeth. Top tooth he completely shattered to get it out. And i had to go back several days later because it didn't heal and got infected. Bottom tooth lets just say he did more than just rock it back and, fourth. He was standing up trying to pull it sitting down trying to pull it. Needless to say I'm on my second round of antibiotics and i gave a lump on the side where he pulled the bottom. And i contracted thrush.
