As a dental student, she held numerous leadership positions with American Student Dental Association, Texas Association of Women Dentist and Psi Omega Fraternity. She also chaired numerous events that raised scholarship funds and provided dental care to underserved children.

That motivation led her to create Thousand Oaks Dental, where shes tried to create a more personalized and relationship-focused practice, as opposed to the growing trend of non-personalized mega clinics.

She enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found hiking the many trails in San Antonio, TX or building sandcastles in Port Aransas, TX. For hobbies, Dr. Thompson enjoys reading, cooking and going to Zumba classes.

Naiisha is a certified medical office specialist. Her duties include helping patients understand and get the most out of their insurance benefits, presenting treatment plans and payment options that work best for each patient.

Naiisha is an Austin native but has called San Antonio home since 2012. She began her dental career in 2013 and has enjoyed every second since. Naiishas goal is to help each patient understand their treatment so that we may fulfill not only their dental needs, but their dental wishes. She has a vast knowledge of dental insurance and will be sure each patient understands their financial obligation before any treatment begins.

I like the experience of being able to take the time to understand what our patients want to achieve. And because were a small office, and we dont just cookie-cutter our approach, actually discussing with the patient their options, and figuring out something that the patient is actually happy with.

I guess in sum, I love the fact that were not rushed to just find the quickest solution, but rather we look for the best. And patients seem to respond to that in a positive way that makes working at Thousand Oaks Dental a lot of fun.

Dr Thompson is thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient. I have only had good experiences with the front office and the hygienists.

This was my first appointment. So far, my experience has been great. The doctor was nice. Morgan (dental hygienist) was amazing!! She was very considerate. I am so self-conscious due to my medical issues that cause physical appearance issues. Morgan made me so comfortable which is extremely important to me. She was also very knowledgeable and professional. She gave me a lot of helpful and knew information. Rita (x-ray tech) was also great!! She made sure I understood everything she was going to do. She apologized in advance about the discomfort of the x-rays. The Morgan and Rita duo were top notch. Then there was Angie lol. Angie (MA/DA) she explained the insurance info., cost, referrals, and procedures. After leaving the office, I called back several times. Angie took the time explain everything until it clicked. She was very thorough! I appreciate her so much!

So I don't ever really complain but, I feel I need to share my experience so others who may feel something is off you're probably right. Almost every visit I was told I had a cavity I needed some sort of work, at every cleaning it felt like there was something new that had to be done. Dr. Thompson wasn't very polite when I asked questions to understand made me feel like it needed to be done. Now I have a new provider and I don't have cavities, as I was previously told I needed 3 more fillings, my dentist is actually impressed with how great my teeth are. However, my previous fillings I did get are coming out or are loose which has caused recent issues. I would not recommend this dentist office and I highly suggest before getting work done, you get a second opinion. Because now I am questioning the work I did have done with Dr. Thompson.

Just moved to San Antonio recently and needed a good dentist. Super close to home and the staff was the friendliest and most knowledgeable I've had! Going to the dentist is never fun, but I can definitely say I look forward to the future with this doctor and staff.

They lied to me about needing work done. They said I had 7 cavities and that it would cost a minimum of $1500 (and that's after insurance) to get the work done. Stunned by the expense and struck with something I couldn't really afford, I waited another year before choosing to see a different dentist. A whole year of grief thinking the cavities were going to get worse and I was going to lose my teeth or something. And my new dentist told me I don't have ANY cavities! That my teeth are in great shape! I'm glad I never went back to Thousand Oaks Dental. They were going to drill holes into my teeth and charge me for something I didn't need. Not to mention the stress of having dental work done in the first place! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

As someone with anxiety, I felt very welcomed and calm. The staff helped walk me through things and reassured me as it was my first time going alone to a dentist. If anyone is nervous about a dentist, this one is perfect for you. Theyre very friendly and helpful, they only want what's the best for you. They're kind and make you laugh so you forget you're nervous.
