Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I cracked my front tooth in 2017 and came here on an emergency basis and saw Dr. Ghaffar. To her credit she tried to save the tooth and installed a crown. The crown fell off 4 times over the next 6 to 8 months. She and the periodontist in this practice then concluded that the tooth could not be saved and should be extracted and I needed an implant. I was moving out of state at the time and decided to let the dentist in my new state handle the extraction and implant. The new periodontist felt the tooth could be saved and referred me to a new dentist who told me that the post they installed in Thousand Oaks was way too short and that's why the crown kept falling off. He installed a longer post and the crown never fell off again. They then decided to do a crown lengthening procedure and installed a new crown since the old one did not fit well with the longer post. The new team of dentists saved me a lot of money and I got to keep my own front tooth. This was 5 years ago but it was clear that Dr Ghaffar and the periodontist (might have been Elisa Sin) did not know what they were doing. There were more experienced dentists in this practice. Maybe they could have helped. Folks, when you choose a dentist you need someone who can do more than clean teeth and fill cavities. You need someone experienced who can handle major work and come to a correct diagnosis. I didn't get that here.

Some of the most awesome dental experiences I have had as an adult. Front desk: I had to call ahead to make the appointment and to request my SmileGeneration account. The people are talked to on the phone and when I checked in were the sweetest people ever! X-rays: the technician was nice, knowledgeable and worked with me to get all of the x-rays done (I have a bad gag reflex). When I asked why we did two types of x-rays, she answered patiently and knowledgeable. Dentist: super nice, approachable, and thorough. I could tell her had checked my chart before walking in the room. Hygienist (David): was so nice, funny, and gifted. He talked me through the whole cleaning, listened to my preferences and made the experience fun. My family and I will definitely be back!

Went in for my first cleaning and xrays which is included in my insurance from my job at the time. They said do you want to pay an extra 15$ for some scan/photos to detect gum damage. I said yes and paid the 15$. When i went in they did the photos and xrays then had me go into another room and do more xrays. They barely cleaned my teeth and couldn't figure out how to use dental floss. It seemed like it was everyones first day doing dental work. Later I got a HUGE bill! they were trying to charge me $90 for each photo(They took 4 or 5) they overcharged me for Covid equipment which was illegal, And some other misc. charges that even the insurance company were very concerned about and had no idea why I was charged that. After a couple of conversations with my insurance company (since I could never get a straight answer from Thousand Oaks Dental group) My insurance company called them several times and finally got the bill dropped to $0.00. This place is very shady with their billing and I would definitely record the people at the front desk when entering and record the visit so that these kinds of things don't happen to anyone else. Highly recommend going to any other Dentist first.

Thank you Dr. Ghaffar and staff! I recently went to Thousand Oaks Dental Group for my regular cleaning and Dr. Ghaffar and the staff took great care of me. Everyone from checking in at the front desk, to X-ray, to assistants and Dr. Ghaffar were all caring and dedicated professionals. This was my second visit, and last year when I came for my cleaning, I had the same great experience. Last year, I needed to get a filling and was amazed by the advanced level of dentistry. Dr. Ghaffar was caring and attentive to my comfort as she prepared my tooth. I was then given multiple options from a traditional metal filling to an on-lay which not only matches my natural tooth but is made on-site. My tooth was scanned by a computer creating a 3D model from which the on-lay was created to precisely match my tooth. The level of care and advanced technology was beyond anything I was expecting.

Terrible labwork.I had minimum partials, one top and bottom made with this facility. A tooth fell out of the bottom partial, and then a tooth fell out of the top partial within a relatively short period of time. No compensation, or repair of their poor lab work was offered. Just a $59.00 exam fee plus $204.00 for each replacement tooth. The fit of the partials was awful as they rubbed against the inside my cheek, and cut my gums raw in another place No, I did NOT have the work done by them. Who could trust T. Oaks Dental again?

A sham! I went in for a basic cleaning and was forced to join their dental plan - "I couldn't get a cleaning without seeing a dentist or taking x-rays. I was tricked into this ploy. they also said I had Periodontal disease and gave me a $1,600 estimate for a "deep clean". I've NEVER had this in my life! The receptionist kept me there, going line by line, as to why it was so expensive. I felt trapped. I got two secondary opinions and they said I had no such "disease". One dentist told me that this practice is a sham. It's like switch and bait. I know this is true. I worked for a Lasik eye doctor and they teach personnel how to up-charge things clients don't need. DO NOT fall for this! My husband got the same diagnosis and he also did not have this "disease". How ironic we both had the exact experience.

Dr. Ghaffar is amazing as well as the other staff I have encountered here. I used to be afraid of the dentist due to previous unnecessary work and billing issues at other places. When I came here years ago, they got my trust in a good dentist again. I highly recommend Dr. Ghaffar

Brought my 13 year old here to be evaluated for braces. Notified the office ahead of appointment that my son has sensory issues and needs gentleness and appropriate interaction for dental work. Went through entire evaluation only to be told the orthodontist REFUSED to treat my son due to his disability sensory issues. Outright discrimination and a complete waste of time. Filed complaint with office and no follow up or apology. Horrible experience. Do not give them your business!!

David Tehrani is the best! I love everyone there actually. But it is always a pleasure getting my teeth cleaned with David. Who ever says that!! He makes you feel very comfortable and explains everything that he is doing. He puts you at ease. I wish everywhere I went could be as good an experience as this.

Old. Set in my ways. I don't write reviews. This is the first. Problems with your teeth? Maybe a tooth? Maybe you just want to keep them problem free. Looking for a doctor who is a great humanitarian, physically fit, a helluva classical guitar player, with half-decent jokes, masterful dental skills, and a first-rate dental office and staff.... You've found it...Dr. Dean Lambridis and the folks at Thousand Oaks Dental and Orthodontics. Truly, a better dental experience.
