Dr. Elizabeth Liz Thorson is a native of Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University. She obtained her DDS in 2009 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, where she was recognized for Excellence in Pediatric Dentistry.
With two years of additional training at Louisiana State University, Dr. Thorson gained advanced expertise in Pediatric Dentistry, which included leading-edge training in behavior guidance techniques, hospital dentistry, trauma, and prevention.
In her free time, Dr. Thorson loves being outdoors, where she enjoys activities like sand volleyball, golf and tennis. She is also thrilled to be in the Greater New Orleans area to take advantage of the incredible food and the numerous festivals and concerts!
Dr. Amanda Begue grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina in Asheville. She graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a BA in Elementary Education and minor in visual and performing arts. In 2016, she graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry with her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. While attending UNC, she traveled to Nepal to provide free dentistry to under served villages in the Himalayas. She was also awarded funding for research in the field of Prenatal Oral Health. Her advanced specialty training in the field of Pediatric Dentistry was completed in 2018 at Louisiana State University, where he Masters project focused on sedation guidelines in the pediatric dental profession. During her residency, she received advanced training in Trauma, Sedation, General Anesthesia, and Special Needs Patients.
She looks forward to always helping children feel good about themselves and their smiles in a kind, and gentle environment. She aims to treat every patient as her own by providing exceptional dental care and excellent communication with families.
In her spare time, Dr. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, children, extended family, and friends. She loves enjoying all that New Orleans and Louisiana have to offer such as boat rides, fishing, bike riding, painting, and eating at new restaurants.

We were searching for a new pediatric dentist since ours moved out of town. I saw Dr. Thorson's sign on Metairie Road and looked her up on my insurance company's website (she was listed as in-network). After reading the positive reviews on Google, I booked appointments for our three kids. Not really knowing what to expect, we showed up a few minutes early for our appointment at the location on Metairie Road near the Orleans Parish Line. The brand new facility is spotless and bright, parking is plentiful and convenient. The kids were immediately warmly greeted by Dr. Thorson's staff. They were able to clean everyone's teeth at the same time which is a huge plus if you have multiple children. The equipment was brand new and everything there was the latest technology which made the X-Ray process incredibly easy. Dr. Thorson spent a lot of time getting to know each of my kids and making them feel comfortable. I rate the entire experience an A+ and I highly recommend Dr. Thorson and her staff to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist in New Orleans or Metairie. It is an easy drive from Uptown.

NO CAVITIES!! My 4yo was a perfect patient! My 2yo did better than I thought & held together until the end Overall though, it was an extremely good visit! Dr Thorson and her staff are amazing and we're so sweet and patient with my babies I couldn't have asked for a better first experience for them We went to the Metairie location. The waiting room is so cute, there's a chalkboard & lots of other toys for the kids to play w. Office is neat & clean. Highly recommend We now see them every 6 months

My son goes here & they were amazing! The staff & Dr. Throson were very welcoming, friendly & knowledgeable. They made my son feel so comfortable & happy. Highly recommend her & her office.

Dr. Thorson is an amazing person and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my son's dental care. Her staff is accommodating and I appreciate that I can call one office and make an appointment at the other office. Also, having two locations is mighty convenient!
