Dr. Rathi graduated from the College of Dentistry - University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds a membership in many premier dental associations, including ADA, Fox Valley Dental, ISDS and AGD. By staying updated with the latest dentistry news and developments, she explores ways to incorporate more cutting-edge state-of-the-art technology and enhance quality of care.
Dr. Rathi understands the anxiety and nervousness associated with visiting a dentist's office. Pain, treatment and costs often weigh heavily on patients' minds. Dr. Rathi is a passionate advocate of maintaining proactive oral health. She makes it a point to educate patients on oral health and hygiene. Dr. Rathi, the mom of two has used positive reinforcement successfully on her kids, and uses the same strategy to motivate her younger patients to pay attention to their oral health. She also leverages her extensive experience to provide comprehensive and cosmetic dental care to entire family.
Dr. Jingyuan Fan is a Board-certified Specialist in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. She is currently an Assistant Professor on the faculty of Midwestern University. She is interested in diagnosing and managing periodontal disease, treating gingival recession and placing dental implants. Dr. Fan received her Advanced Specialty Training in Periodontics at Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester and earned a Ph.D. in Oral Biology from School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Midwestern University, she was an Assistant Professor of Periodontics at University of Rochester. She has published and presented numerous articles and is also a reviewer for academic journals. She had been recognized with several awards, scholarships and honors through her clinical and academic career.
Dr. Mahdi is of Egyptian origin, born and raised in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria Egypt. He is an Internationally Trained Dentist, He received his first Dental Degree from Alexandria University College of Dentistry 2002-2007. He started his journey in the United States in 2010. He attended New York University College of Dentistry where he received his 1-year Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics along with a Master of Science in Biomaterials and Biomedical Sciences. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. In 2020 Dr. Mahdi decided to move to the Greater Chicago area with his wife Sarah and his daughter Maya. Sarah was born and raised in Naperville and because family is everything Dr. Mahdi and his family decided to move back to be closer to their extended family and friends.
Dr. Grisel Rincon was born and raised in Venezuela. She is an International Trained Dentist graduated from University Central of Venezuela, Dental School. In 2000 she decided to come to USA . She attended NYU College of Dentistry where she received a prosthodontics and cosmetic certifications.In 2006 she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from NYU College of Dentistry. After her graduation Dr. Rincn moved to Chicago area with her family . As a dentist she love to educate her patients in oral health and provide integrative dental care to children and adults. Dr. Rincn is trained in orthodontic treatment, sleep apnea and dental implants. In addition to dentistry, Dr. Rincn love music , playing violin , food and traveling around the world.

Everyone at Thorough Dental is amazing. Going to the dentist has never been my favorite. To my surprise, here the atmosphere is calming. The receptionist, X-ray tech, dentist, to the hygienist are very kind, gentle and very thorough!

Very disappointed in that the cleaning was performed by the office attendants did not get any attention from the dentist Dr Rathi.y appointment was with Dr Rathi hope my bill reflects charges based on the staff attending to me.

The staff are friendly and considerate. I always feel very comfortable during my appointment. I really like the convenient location and the relaxed atmosphere. I have been a patient for over 3 years now and I plan on remaining a patient. Thorough Dental is very transparent and communicative. It is enjoyable being their customer.

Dr. Rathi was highly recommended by my sister and I understand completely why. My first visit was an emergency situation and my fears were put to rest immediately. All possibilities and options were explained and I truly felt my best interest was the primary concern.

I am ready impressed at the professionalism of the entire staff. I had a difficult root canal and she took her time to make sure it was done 100% corect so I would never have problems with the tooth again. I highly recommend them.

I have been going here for a few years and loved it recommend her for everyone. Well everytime I went they would come up with something I owed money for. I have 3 different dental insurance and when I would go they would tell me I owe and must pay before they can see me so of course I pay. Well come to find out he (manager) isn't submitting the claims to all insurance but instead send the whole amount over to just 1 and gets the full amount from that carrier never sending it through my other insurance. Then when they get the money from my insurance they don't pay me back. Please be careful with this place. Also put the gas on you then bring in your paperwork to sign why you're on gas and have no idea whats going on.

Well...too often the trip to the dentist is slightly better than going to car dealership ...(I sell cars..so I hear it everyday)...this was not the case at Thorough Dental in Sugar Grove...Dr. Rathi was excellent! Staff friendly and helpful...plus tvs on the ceiling! Would highly recommend this dentist.

It was my first time visiting any dentist is a long time, and it was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with any professional service. The location is clean and modern, the staff are friendly, new patient onboarding was quick and easy, and Dr. Rathi and her assistant were great. If it hadn't been for the obvious obstacle of them working in my mouth, I would've been lucky to just sit and chat with them the whole time. If life doesn't take me out of the area before the time my next check up is due, I will undoubtedly be revisiting Thorough Dental.

I went in for my 6 month cleaning. I mentioned a problem I was having, not being able to chew on my right side. The dentist immediately looked and saw I needed a $128.00 procedure, to which I agreed. No numbing needed, it was like a miracle! Then she cleaned my teeth. Amazing personalized service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Just got off the phone with my dental insurance and they said Thorough Dental was covered but when I tried to schedule an appointment they will not accept it. They say only kids but I am paying for the adult plan that is new for this year. Maybe they should update there policy to match the new plan that I am paying for, or at least take the time to contact the insurance company to double check....

I had the good fortune of having Thorough Dental recommended to me after another dentist (also located in Sugar Grove close to WCC campus) thought I needed to have 2 crowns pulled & replaced for a couple thousand dollars. I told my sister-in-law about what I needed done & she asked me try Thorough Dental in Sugar Grove, first. I was able to get an appt. a short time later & the Dentist I saw said, "No, you do not need new crowns, just get a water pick & continue to floss as you usually do. Your teeth are in very good condition." I am thrilled to have found such an honest dental establishment! I highly recommend Thorough Dental - they are HONEST!! Something that's hard to find in todays world. Thank you, Thorough Dental!
