Dr. Neely Thornton is a Georgia native born and raised in Rome, GA. She attended Darlington School and continued on to Vanderbilt University where she graduated Cum Laude from the School of Engineering. After college, Dr. Thornton ventured out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to enjoy an outdoor adventure for a year, while working as a dental assistant and reinforcing her desire to pursue dentistry. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2006, graduating top 10% of her class. Neely has always been passionate about learning and applying new principles to her life. She chose dentistry as her career path to help others be more proactive about prevention and wellness in their own lives and to have a hands-on artistic influence on peoples' smiles and functional harmony. Dentistry is a great way to reach individuals on a level of discovery. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, The Georgia Dental Association, The Hinman Dental Society, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and frequents her local Spear Study Club. Dr. Thornton has also been accepted as an IAFA master! Being happy is a choice and so is being well. Dr. Thornton and her team pride themselves in joining with you in a co-discovery process by educating, creating awareness, and advocating your health and confidence.

Dr. Thornton has been practicing dentistry in Cobb County from the beginning. She established Thornton Dental Wellness in 2009 near the Marietta Square. Dr. Thornton enjoys being involved in her community and joined the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta to remain active and to better serve and lead her community. She is on the committee for the annual Mardi Gras 5k, which takes place each February on the Square. This is fitting considering her devotion to fitness health for life.

Dr. Thornton's fitness background started at a young age. In the second grade, she began her joy of cheerleading, which she continued into the college level. Her energy and excitement for health have kept her at the gym. A few years ago, Dr. Thornton stumbled into a position as a spin instructor and has loved every minute of helping people achieve their fitness goals in the gym. She has encouraged and influenced others to try new things such as triathlons and fun runs. No matter what the environment, Dr. Thornton makes it a fun group effort.

Along with fitness consulting, Dr. Thorntons vision for her dental office includes incorporating image consulting and total body wellness. Her background includes growing up in a family of small business owners and entrepreneurs. One of which, her mother, owns a salon and image center, where Dr. Thornton worked providing exceptional customer service and observing beauty makeovers. This early influence sparked the desire in Dr. Thornton to incorporate wellness and beauty into her dental business model providing a unique service for her clients.

Dr. Thornton enjoys spending time with Brad, her husband and her two daughters, Sydney and Sybil, born in October 2013 and February 2019. She loves traveling, being active both indoors and out, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends.

Paige joined the Thornton Dental Wellness team in 2017 as our scheduling coordinator. Paige is happiest helping patients improve their overall oral health, and she loves working with her colleagues at Thornton Dental. Originally from Oneonta, AL, she attended Hiram High School and Dental Career Institute for dental assisting.

Paige comes from a very large and close Christian family. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, travel and anything outdoors with her two dogs, Stella and Hank. Ask Paige about her great-grandfather who was an artist for Walt Disney!

With nearly thirty years of experience in the field of dentistry, Jodi joined our team in 2018. As our financial coordinator, Jodi enjoys getting to know patients and helping them to maximize their dental insurance benefits. Jodi trained as an expanded duties dental assistant and she has also completed front dental office management courses. Outside of work, Jodi is married to Wesley, and they are the proud parents of one daughter, Macey, and two sons, Bailey and Jay. They also have a granddaughter, Whitley, who Jodi loves to spend time with whenever she can. In her free time, Jodi plays with her dog, Zeus, goes to the beach, reads, and spends her Saturdays watching college football.

Rachel is originally from Syracuse, NY! She then made her way to California to complete her studies at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. Today, she has nearly two decades of experience in the world of dentistry and has undergone training in advanced CEREC and Invisalign. For her, seeing patients so happy and more confident in their smiles is her favorite part of her job (and getting to wear her professional pajamas, of course). In her free time, she loves going to the beach, watching college basketball, and playing the guitar.

Kolbey was born and raised right here in Marietta, GA! Although she only joined our team about a year ago, she has more than five years of experience in the world of dentistry. She studied at both Valdosta and Fortis College and loves coming into work each day because it means she gets to create healthy smiles and help kids get over their dental fears. Outside the office, she loves spending time with her husband, her two boys, and her pets. She also enjoys being outdoors and learning new skills.
