My name is Dr. Iman Rahimi Thornton, and Im a compassionate, fun-loving general dentist. Born in Kuwait and raised in Dubai, I was led to the medical field at a young age. When my mothers life became compromised by a deadly scorpion bite, I saw the difference doctors were able to make and knew immediately I was called to help others medically. I later obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in the United Arab Emirates, followed by a two-year Doctorate of Dental Surgery in San Antonio and a one-year Advanced Education Residency in Rochester, New York. Throughout my journey, I fell in love with Texas and returned here to put down my roots. Im proud to be a part of this wonderful community serving you.
Part of my story is meeting my wonderful husband, Paul, a Bryan local who played a huge role in helping me transition to life in Texas. I love being his wife, biking, traveling, cooking, spending time with my furbaby Ada, and serving in my community. Oh, and my super power as a dentist is bringing a calming presence to my patients, even during the toughest procedures.
I moved to the Reno area in 1984 and have called Reno my home ever since. I graduated from Truckee Meadows Dental Assisting Program in 2000, started my career as a chair side assistant and the past 16 years I have focused on the admin/front desk responsibilities. I love that in the dental field you can meet people from the community, form great friendships and support their dental health. I have 16 year old twins, a boy and a girl. When I am not busy with their school activities, sports, and their teen social life I like spending my time with friends and family. I enjoy reading, movies, traveling,cooking,wine tasting and anything outdoors.
I was born & raised on Lake Tahoes North Shore of Incline Village. I have been in Dentistry at the front desk for almost 25 years. I enjoy seeing patients everyday and helping them achieve their dental dreams. I am married with 2 children and 2 stepchildren. I also have a beautiful 18 month old grandson, who is my whole world. I have 4 dogs and love being in the garden.
I am a local native and have lived here most of my life. I have been in dentistry for almost 20 years and truly enjoy providing excellent care to my patients. I started in orthodontics, moved to pedodontics for several years, then found my love to be in general dentistry. It is the relationships that are built inside a stable practice that I really love.
I have many hobbies and points of interest, and I always enjoy good conversation surrounding such things. I have a wonderful husband and beautiful daughter and am completely in love with them and my life!
I was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, CA. I have been in the dental field for over a decade. I attended the Dental Hygiene Program at The College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, NV and have been practicing as a dental hygienist for over 6 years. I enjoy educating my patients to better their oral health while providing a gentle and exceptional experience. I am lucky to be surrounded by such a great team here at Blue Water Dental Care. On my free time, I enjoy playing golf, hiking with my dog Murphy, and spending time with my family and friends.
I was born and raised in Reno. Although, when I was young, my family and I lived in both Ohio and Colorado before settling back home! I am married and have 3 girls. I got a small taste of my dental career in high school working as sterilization in a small dental office, which in turn, encouraged my career as a Dental Hygienist. I decided go to Dental Hygiene school in Connecticut to get out of this small town atmosphere. But, what I quickly realized was how special this area really is. My husband and I love raising our girls here. I love the change of seasons the most. We spend our time running to softball or soccer practice, and when we can, we love to travel and camp. But Im most content spending time at home in my garden!

I visited Thornton Dental recently. The office is amazing and has a spa feel! The staff is professional and very attentive. Dr Rahimi-Thornton has great mannerism. She is patient, kind and her attention to detail is impeccable. I had to have several fillings. I did not feel any pain on the injections or the fillings and had no issues afterwards. Overall I had an amazing experience. I highly recommend her! They take great care of you.

Thornton Dental made me feel comfortable the minute I walked into the clinic . Staff was amazing and very sweet. Dr.Thornton was very nice and explained everything to me in a timely manner. She made me feel very confident and I am so happy that she will be helping me accomplish my goals . Great experience overall !

Excellent experience. Dr Thornton shows compassion, concern, and knowledge. The fact that she personally called my doctor over an issue I have just may have save my life. The office is open and spacious and the staff go out of their way to be cordial. A very nice experience.

The office staff processed my intake quickly and fees were explained. I was seen quickly and had a thorough exam. I was a former patient in another city of Dr. Thornton's but was having an issue that wasn't being handled by the subsequent dentist and made the decision to drive 3 hours for consultation. I was grateful that I had as I had 3 issues, not one that were taken care of and Dr. Thornton was able to resolve. The office staff as well as Dr. Thornton were professional and friendly. I trust this dentist completely who explains the treatment and shows pictures of the issues giving me a complete understanding of location and condition. Well worth the drive and prevented further damage with her care.

Professional, patient-centric and just a pleasant experience. Needed a tooth extracted and was in pain. Dr. Thornton and assistant Victoria took care of the tooth and the anxiety within 24 hours of my call. Other medical providers could learn much from Dr. Thornton's practice; I was not just "another patient". Care was personal and professional.

Simply wonderful dental experience! Dr. Thornton and her staff take the time to explain what is required and why. They go over the cost, in detail, so there are no unpleasant surprises; they even gave me a significant refund on an overpayment due to an insurance snafu. This card carrying dental coward has found the last dental office he will ever need. Simply the best in the Brazos Valley!

DR. Thornton is such a caring dentist and her staff is amazing. She really cares about her patients and makes sure they are comfortable during their whole appointment. I recently got a permanent retainer put on my bottom teeth, and she couldn't of done a better job! I love it! I highly recommend to come to Thornton Dental for your dental needs, you won't regret it!

One of the best experiences I have ever had with a dentist. Dr. Rahimi-Thornton is very knowledgeable , super kind and quick. I went to her for fillings. I had sensitivity and she recognized the source of discomfort right away. I did not feel any pain and before I knew it everything was completed. My teeth felt so much better after the treatment. I want to become a dentist one day and I hope that I will be one just like Dr. Rahimi-Thornton. Thank you so much for everything!

Dr. Iman Rahimi Thornton and her staff are amazing! Getting dental work can be stressful and nerve-wracking, but they make you feel comfortable and calm. They make sure you have a good understanding of what is going on. The dentist will explain everything before, during and after a procedure. For anyone needing dental work, a cleaning or just a check up, I would highly recommend Thornton Dental. Not only is the staff amazing there, but the office is very clean and sterile! Oh and did I mention they have massage chairs in the waiting room? (Just an added bonus) CHECK THEM OUT, THEY WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU! Hands down the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office! Thank you Thornton Dental for everything you helped me out with! I will definitely be back!

I do not like going to the dentist, but Thornton Dental was recommended to me by my daughter and I must say that I had a great experience there. Dr. Thornton and her staff are amazing! From the moment I walked in, I automatically felt comfortable. They took their time to explain everything to me and made sure I had a good understanding of everything. I would highly recommend them to everyone for all their dental needs. I will forever be a patient of Thornton Dental from now on. Since my visit with them, my anxiety of going to the dentist is now gone! Thank you for taking good care of me!

Thornton Dental is amazing!! I was nervous about going to a new dentist, and I am so glad that I found Dr. Thornton! She was very thorough in the examination. She asked many questions and gave several options for addressing my dental issues. She was very kind and helpful in explaining the different options and the benefits of each. When it came time to do the procedures, she was very concerned about my comfort while having dental procedures. She ensured that I was comfortable and my needs were well taken care during the procedure. Her office staff is amazing kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Thornton especially to anyone nervous about dental work. She is so helpful, gentle, and kind.

Dr. Iman Rahimi-Thornton is the BEST!!! I have always had issues with my teeth, and I have been to several dentists in the past. I never felt so good about my teeth until Dr. Rahimi-Thornton started my treatment. She is knowledgeable, gentle and caring! I drive from San Antonio to Bryan each time for my dental visits at Thornton Dental. They have the best customer service and my doctor has an amazing bedside manner. I am so happy that I finally found my dentist!!
