Dr. Thomas W Kauffman has provided general dental care to Atlanta area residents since 1977. He earned his undergraduate degree at North Central College and his dental a degree at Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago. Illinois. He completed a comprehensive GPR residency at Reynolds Army Hospital, Ft. Sill, Ok. and served his country while on active duty at Ft. McPherson, Ga., and then entered private practice in Atlanta. His training for certification in IV conscious sedation was conducted at the University of Alabama Dental School and University Hospital in Birmingham, Al. Annually attending continuing education courses enables Dr. Kauffman to stay at the forefront of dentistry so that he can provide optimal care to his patients. He regularly attends continuing education focusing on cosmetics, implant restorations, CAD-CAM, radiology and oral medicine so that the roost current treatment options are available to his patients. In 2012 and 2016 he sponsored a cadaveric surgical anatomy and dissection course in his office. In 2013, 2016. and 2019 he hosted CBVT radiology diagnosis seminars in Wichita, KS and Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Kauffman is also dedicated to serving the local community. He lectures yearly at various symposia and has provided many training videos discussing the use of CBVT cone beam imaging and its role in diagnosis and treatment for dentists reference and education on the CEREC Doctors web site. He presented a course on CBVT imaging at the upcoming Georgia Dental Association meeting in July. He was a featured presenter the national CEREC scientific symposium held in Las Vegas in October of 2014.

Dr. Kauffman is a trained spokesperson of the Georgia Dental Association and has appeared many times over the last 30 years on local television and radio speaking on behalf of the dental profession. He was recently highlighted nationally on CNN Headline News discussing the use of IV sedation in dental treatment. He is a member of several notable professional organizations including the Georgia and American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He has been awarded Honorable Fellowship by the Georgia Dental Association, Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and Fellowship by the International College of Dentists. He was recently named a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, a prestigious recognition awarded to less than 3% of all dentists. He is currently one of only 14 dentists and dental facilities in the United States certified in cone beam imaging by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Dr. Kauffman has also been recently featured as aguest onthe XM Doctors Radio show Heart to Heart hosted by Dr. Fred Feit, a renowned interventional cardiologist at Langone Medical Center in New York City. Listen to the interview here.

Aja, CEDAgraduated from ACT College and is a Certified Expanded Duties Assistant. Aja started at Dr. Kauffmans when she did her externship here during her final year at ACT. She is also a member of the Dental Assisting National Board Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading a good book. Aja has been a member of Dr. Kauffmans team for 12 years.

Mai, CEDAattended the Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University in Vietnam. She is a Certified Expanded Duties Assistant with over 30 years of experience in the dental profession. Mai has had extensive training with the CEREC, our same day crown system, and she is a member of theAmerican Dental Assistant Association. When she isnt working on making great smiles, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and shopping. Mai has been with Dr. Kauffmans team for 11 years.

Dorethagraduated from Scott Community College in Iowa with an Associates Degree in Accounting. She has over 11 years of professional experience as a Dental Administrative Assistant. She is also the recipient of the Pride Award for personal responsibility in delivering excellence, from Security National Bank. Doretha likes to spend time with her family, traveling, and cooking. Doretha has been with Dr. Kauffmans team for 7 years.

Ericka, RDH.graduated top of her class from Macon State College. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with over 17 years of experience. Ericka also serves her country as a member of the United States Air Force Reserve. When she isnt cleaning and brightening smiles at Dr. Kauffmans she enjoys running 5K races, hiking, and traveling. Ericka has been with Dr. Kauffmans team for 7 years.

Lina, RDH.graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College and has her ADEX (American board of Dental Examiners). She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with over 26 years of experience. Lina is involved with community outreach as a Volunteer at the Ben Masssell Clinic. When she isnt helping people with their clean & Brite smiles Lina enjoys Yoga, Travel and Continuing her education. Lina joined our team in 2020.

Allison, Dental Assistant. Allison is a native of Atlanta with over 25 years of dental experience. She received her Certified Expanded Duty Dental training from the US Army. She graduated from Everest College as an Ambassador with a 4.0 GPA where she received a Diploma in Dental Assisting. Allison is a member of the Dental Assistant National Board and American Dental Assistant Association. When she is not assisting working on great smiles, you can find her line dancing, coaching cheerleading , or watching sports.
