Tom Toolson was born to be a dentist. His grandfather was a dentist. His great-uncle and uncle were dentists. His father broke tradition becoming a pharmacist only to see the error of his ways... then he too became a dentist. Tom learned from his father's mistake, he knew dentistry ran thick in his blood, and there was no better profession for him.
Tom attended Brigham Young University where he was on a football scholarship while earning his undergraduate degree. He played tight-end, and it is no coincidence that BYU went to the Fiesta Bowl game while Tom was playing!
A very devout Christian, Tom served a two year mission in South Florida and Puerto Rico. He loved his time being there serving the people and learning of their culture. Now, a fluent Spanish speaker, Tom loves to converse with friends, family and patients in Spanish. It brings him back to his missionary days.
Dr. Toolson received his DDS from University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Upon completion he moved to Fairfield to start his practice. Because Tom loves Fairfield so much, he and his wife of over 35 years have raised their 6 beautiful children here.
Leading a well balanced life is very important to Dr. T. He loves helping his patients experience the latest dental techniques such as Cerec crowns, Waterlase, Invisalign and Dental Implants. In his free time Tom loves to be with his family and serve in his Church. He and his wife, Diane, love to ride bikes together. They have completed TWO century bike rides! Tom loves to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoys snow skiing and also dabbles in golf from time to time......okay he loves to golf!
I am both a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry (where I received my doctorate in dentistry) and the University of California at Davis (where I received a BS in biology). I have been practicing dentistry for many years and have been working with Dr. Toolson since 2007. My goals are to achieve a comprehensive, practical, compassionate and understanding approach to treating patients. I am a member of the CDA, ADA and Contra Costa Dental Society.
I enjoy the simple things in life during my down time away from dentistry: tending to gardens, reading a good book, thinking of and occasionally writing a story or 2, photography, movies, film and the great out doors.
Hi, my name is Debbie. I have been in the dental field for 11 years. I grew up in Sacramento and moved to Vacaville 5 years ago. I joined the Toolson team in 2018 and I keep very busy helping the office run smoothly.
Ive been a registered dental assistant for 30 years and counting. Ive worked with Dr. Toolson for 22 of those years and with Dr. Reyes for over 13 years. I am very passionate about my job and I love to create relationships with each and every one of our patients.
I received an A.S. degree in Dental Assisting from City College in San Francisco. I continued my education by earning an A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. I have happily worked in the dental field and with Dr Toolson for over thirty years. We love to make our patients feel loved and comfortable.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, I spent the first 18 years of life as a bilingual 'Army Brat.' My dad was very adamant about keeping our family together, so we did lots of moving around and except for a one year tour in Vietnam, we always stayed together. We were stationed in Holland, Washington State and did 2 tours in Kentucky and Germany. I had the opportunity to graduate from High School in Wrzburg, Germany, an incredible experience!
From the 8th grade I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist. My Opa was a dental lab technician and my Mutti a dental assistant. I truly found my destiny! In 1983, I graduated from the University of Louisville in Kentucky with a Degree in Dental Hygiene. My first hygiene position was with a very progressive dentist in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where I first learned of micro dentistry and implants. This is also where I met my husband, the bosss brother in law! I spent the next 21+ years as an Air Force bride. My career as a dental hygienist flourished during this time. I had the opportunity to work at Letterman Army Hospital at the Presidio of San Francisco and David Grant Dental at Travis AFB. For over 13 years of my career I worked with a periodontist, a dentist specializing in treatment of gum disease. I have been back with Dr. Toolson since May of 2006, I had the pleasure of working for him from 1987-1990, but had to leave after my husbands transfer to Beale AFB.
During my 38 years as a Dental Hygienist, I have had the opportunity to work for some amazing dentists. I have learned so much from all these experiences. I have beyond doubt had a well rounded career, learning all phases of dentistry. When assessing my patients, I definitely look at the big picture, taking all variables into consideration. I love my job! I wake up every morning with a smile on my face and look forward to coming to work.
My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary this past August. We have one beautiful daughter who recently got married. When not at work I teach Jazzercise, run and have rekindled my love of photography.

The dentist and staff are fine. BUT the hygienist is very old. She can't see clearly on cleaning your teeth. Actually, she is so impatience...Not satisfied at all.

Dr. Toolsons work seems to always fail. Work done on me and a family member failed multiple times. He did root canals that an entadontist should have done and now I have missing teeth. Dr. Reyes seems to be a good and an honest man. Toolson cost me and family members teeth and money. He did procedures he should have never done and now I am out teeth and money. Toolson is not to be trusted, he did a root canal and the tooth cracked and still did a crown on it. Lost money and the tooth. Toolson cares about money not his patients.

I mistakenly thought Dr. Toolson repaired the wrong tooth......He repaired the correct tooth.....I was wrong. I responded to his office with my concerns and Dr. Toolson saw me immediately, thoroughly explaining the tooth repair. I MADE A MISTAKE and APOLOGIZE PROFUSELY to DR TOOLSON. I and my entire family have been patients of Dr Toolson for over 25 years, which is a testament to his stellar practice.

Dr. Reyes did my root canal over an hour ago. Didn't feel any pain! He's super kind as was the staff. I was always informed about what was going on. Very quick and efficient. Good vibes only from these wonderful people. I was scared but I'll be seeing them from now on for all my dental needs. Highly recommend a visit!

A great place if you have fear of dentists. They are so loving and welcoming and put you at ease. No unnecessary work is pushed or demeaning attitudes towards patients. They simply tell you what you need to prevent further work and give you the choice.

Prior to going to Dr. Toolson office, I just don't like the idea of going to the dentist! In fact, I don't like needles and drills going inside my mouth. I had several bad experiences with my former dentist that I developed this fear. That has all changed now since Dr. Reyes, Tess and staff treated me with "kids" glove and knows how to deal with my fears. :) :) :) Thank you to all of you, my teeth and gums are healthier since I have been going to your clinic.

Love Dr. Toolson and his staff. Always on time, always friendly and caring. I had horrible dentist experiences as a young child, then found a dentist I loved and I stayed with him until he retired (which was at least 35 years!). I was really nervous going to someone new after being with my old dentist most of my life but Dr. Toolson, Pat and all the staff made the transition easy. I refer everyone I know to Dr. Toolson!

I absolutely love Dr. Toolson and his staff! Everyone is very friendly and have have great bedside manner. He is very fast AND efficient. I have been seeing him since I moved back here in 2001, and I will continue to see him until I can't. My teeth cleanings are also very painless and thorough. I have very sensitive teeth and Pat always makes sure the water is warmed up for me :-)
