First, treat your real dental needs and nothing more in a timely, individualized fashion. Second, educate you thoroughlyon every option you have for the future. In other words: diagnose aggressively, treat conservatively
In a world where profit is king and solicitations are all too common, we prefer good old fashioned straight-talk. Because that’s what we would want if we were you. We value the relationships we have with our patients above all else, because without real relationship, there can be no trust. And to us, your trust is truly second to nothing
There are few things South Elgin dentist, Dr. Siewert, is not well versed in. He began his practice in 1980, after graduating from dental school at the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and completing his General Practice Residency at the University of Chicago. His practice has remained in the same building that it began in, with the help of a comprehensive renovation in 1990. As one of the South Elgin’s top dentists, Dr. Siewert and his staff also rely on fully up-to-date, computerized systems including digital x-rays, charting, and intra-oral photography for their patient assessments
Outside his practice, Dr. Siewert serves as a school board member for Westminster Christian School in Elgin, as well as a leader for Mission Church’s children’s ministry, in Bloomingdale. Dr. Siewert is married to his wife of 35 years, Lynn, with whom he has two grown sons, Matthew and Brandon. He and Lynn reside in West Dundee, where they have lived for over 30 years
Credentials Include Illinois State University, BS Chemistry, 1975 University of Illinois College of Dentistry, DDS, 1979 University of Chicago Hospital, General Practice Residency, 1980 American Dental Association, member since 1979
As one who firmly values relationships and the power of personal connection, through the years Dr. Siewert has cultivated a team of incredible women who share that same value. More importantly, they exemplify it in their relationships with patients and the dental care they provide. It is their earnest dedication and countless contributions that have enabled Dr. Siewert to achieve his goal of consistently providing elite and personalized dental care for the residents of South Elgin and the surrounding Fox Valley community. Together, they hold each other to extremely high standards both professionally and personally and recognize that a cohesive, unified team can always accomplish more than expected, and certainly far more than one could alone
It is through these shared values and a shared veneration for each other, that Dr. Siewert and his team have come to deeply enjoy working together. With nearly 200 years of combined dental care experience, there are few things this team hasn’t faced. Naturally, they take great pride this, and their effectiveness as a team. What makes them most proud, however, is seeing patients leave with a smile. Here’s a deeper, more personal look into each member of the team, and what makes them each uniquely remarkable
Sandy has been an invaluable member of the team for 34 years and counting. As office manager, Sandy orchestrates a lot. And to do what she does with calmness and grace is no easy thing. She also assumes the role of “receptionist” for us as well – so when you call in, it’ll be her voice warmly greeting you. And as one who initially began her time here as a chairside assistant, Sandy knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Ultimately, her versatility and work ethic are what make her truly indispensable, and without her…well, we don’t like to imagine things without her
Outside the office, Sandy enjoys cooking, walking her dog, and is a DIY home improvement queen. She is married to her husband, Bill, and has three grown daughters as well as five grandchildren, whom she loves spending time with. Sandy resides in the Elgin area with her family, where she has lived her entire life
Shelly has been on staff for 26 years, and is the anchor of the hygiene team. To find a person as dependable as Shelly is a rare thing. She is diligent and holds tight to her word, and we love that about her. As lead hygienist, Shelly plays a critical role in helping maintain overall order and structure. On top of that, she does it all with a sincere and winsome kindness.
Outside of work, Shelly volunteers as a Girl Scout Leader for her daughters group who she loves to death and is a highly accomplished basket maker. She lives out west in Sycamore with her husband, Ron, and their daughter, who is in high school.
Courtney has been in the dental field for over 30 years, and weve been fortunate enough to have her for 25 of them. While serving primarily as lead clinical assistant, Courtney also manages the front desk for a portion of the week, as needed. This means her role requires an immense scope of dental care knowledge, as well as some serious plate-juggling ability. Lets just say that were really glad shes also been a mom for 20 years.
Outside of work, Courtney is a devout mom of two grown sons, and an avid family-time advocate to boot. She also thoroughly enjoys indulging in heavy fiction-novel reading in her spare time. Courtney has spent her life growing up in the South Elgin community, where she still resides with her husband, Dale.
Kim has been a part of our hygiene team for over 13 years, and has been a hygienist for fourteen. Kims sure-handedness and warm spirit are, among other things, some of her best qualities. And apparently others like her a lot too through the years, Kim has developed a group of bona fide regulars. Suffice it to say, were happy shes one of our regulars.
In her personal time, Kim loves traveling to new places with her husband Trevor. When theyre not on the road or in the air, shes baking tasty confections at home for him and their friends. She even makes her own homemade ice cream and yes, its superb. Kim and Trevor also live westward, in Sycamore, where theyve happily resided for the past several years.
Karen is another highly seasoned team member of ours, with over 30 years of diverse hygienist experience under her belt. She currently joins the team for two days each week, working the rest of her time at a general practice in Sycamore. Karen has an instinct that we value highly: to encourage and educate patients on improvements they can make, rather than scold them. When she finds something that needs fixing, she says it in the best possible way. Needless to say, Karen gives her patients more than one reason to come back.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys routinely spending time with her friends family, reading, walking, and scrap-booking. She puts serious effort into walling off time for family vacations, and loves being grandma to her three beautiful grandchildren. Karen is married to her husband, Dave, whom she lives with in Elgin. Together they have a grown daughter and son.
Michelle is the most recent addition to the weekly hygiene team, now going on six years although she worked with Dr. Siewerts office intermittently for over 14 years. Shes a professional in the highest sense and an expert at her craft, which certainly makes her extremely valuable to us. But more importantly, shes a tremendous person and a committed wife, mom, and friend which makes her invaluable.
Outside the office, Michelle also loves spending her time exercising and staying active. Along with that, she enjoys gardening, canning the art of jarring and preserving fruits and jams and riding her motorcycle any time the weather permits. Yes thats right, her motorcycle. Lets just say that if there was a most interesting person contest held nearby, we would force her to enter in it. Michelle lives in the St. Charles area with her husband Dennis and college-age son.
