McDonald and his dental team have been providing general dentistry, restorative work, cosmetic treatments, and more to central Michigan. You deserve the latest advances in dentistry, which is why we have invested in modern technology for our Mt. Pleasant, MI dental office. Our X-rays are digital, giving more accurate results with less radiation. We have a DIAGNOdent system that uses a low-powered laser to detect cavities that might otherwise go untreated. Our CEREC system uses computerized, three-dimensional imaging with a special in-house mill to create beautiful veneers and dental crowns right here. That means no waiting for weeks while a lab makes them your CEREC crown and veneers can be placed the same day they are made.
Since our goal is to give you a winning smile, we focus on you. When we make recommendations for treatment, we dont focus on something new just because its new. We also make sure to think about the cost of your treatments and promise to recommend what you need, not what we think you can afford. But we also take the time to get to know you. We greet our patients by their first names, and when its time for an exam, we review your whole health history. After all, your teeth are the window to your whole bodys health. And learning about your health can help us better understand any possible dental problems.
But we are more than just about giving you a winning smile. We work, live, and play in Michigan, and we love the people here. There really is no place quite like Michigan. Thats why we participate in the Free Dental Day program. On a special day (normally in September), we offer free dental care to the first 100 people who are unable to pay for needed dental work for themselves and/or their family members. This is our way of giving back to the Michigan communities we call home.
Dr. Thomas J. McDonald was born in Detroit and graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1978. He then attended the University of Michigan Dearborn, where he was president of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. After graduating, he went back to school at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and graduated from there in 1985.
He has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years and has never stopped continuing to take education coursework. He is trained in orthodontics, endodontics, sedation dentistry, crowns and bridges, CEREC technology, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and more. For a general dentist, he does it all!
Dr. McDonald truly believes in putting the needs of his patients first, and in just one visit, he can improve your smile and overall health. He also screens for oral cancer and provides dental treatments that can help prevent cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America.
Every family is different, so every family needs different dental treatments. Thats why we can deliver a comprehensive range of treatments. We can help young children get through teething and thumb sucking. We offer traditional braces and Red, White and Blue invisible braces for teens and adults alike. We can whiten your teeth, cover imperfections with veneers, repair damage with fillings and crowns, and replace missing teeth with dental implants. We can even help with the bad snoring and health problems that come with sleep apnea. And while some dental offices will not see kids, we are always happy to see your whole family.
