Dr. Thomas F. Vert has worked in private practice since 1986 in Elk Grove, CA before moving to Eureka, CA in 2000. He has been in private practice for 35 years. He obtained his education from Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry, with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery on April 15, 1985 and has also completed the course requirements for Radiation Safety as required by the California Board of Dental Examiners. He entered the California board of dental examiners on October 14, 1985.
Immediately upon graduation, he interned and worked for Dr. Clyde Crowson, DDS, a former Loma Linda University Professor until June 1986. Upon completion of his service with Dr. Crowson, he relocated to Elk Grove, CA to secure his private practice for 14 years before moving to Humboldt County, Ca.
Dr. Thomas Vert continues to provide his expertise to promote the most advanced procedures by attending various Clinical Procedure Courses conducted by Dr. Gordon J. Christensen, DDS, MSD, PhD to provide the best standard of care of his patients.
Dr. Vert completes the required 50 hours of continuing education course which includes Basic Life Support and California Infection Control courses every 2-years to maintain his CA Board of Dental license.
He is a native of California, the youngest of five siblings, born and raised in Hollister, CA. He currently resides in Trinidad CA with his wife. Together, they have 5 grown children and is a proud grandparent to 5 grandchildren.

I recently had an appointment with hygienist Brooke for x-rays and a cleaning. She is very professional and even though it wasn't time for measurements, she took time to do them as a special request from me. One thing I really like about this dentist office is once you are in a room for treatment, you have everything done right there. At my previous dentist you had x-rays done in one room and then taken to another room for whatever needed to be done. Dr. Vert is very friendly and helpful, as is his staff. Ethel

I have been coming to this office for almost about 4 years now and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I've been to other local dentists and all the work has failed. Dr.Vert saved my teeth and I will always be grateful!

Throughout my lifetime, for some reason, I've had mostly bad experiences with dentists. Even my last dentist, whom I really liked, couldn't manage my crowns well. I moved to Humboldt with a terrible toothache that I had to find ways to manage myself (bc of the pandemic) until I could no longer stand it. Trouble is, I grind my teeth and have done since childhood (accident gave me spinal issues). The crown on my molar kept breaking/cracking and even after the 3rd new crown my previous dentist inserted, I'd have jaw/tooth/headache issues. This happened over a period of 5 years. I didn't expect much difference from Dr. Vert but I was surprisingly, happily proved wrong. His manner is wonderful and put me at ease even with my ingrained mistrust of dentists. He listened to my fears about the pain of Novocain shots and I experienced very little pain bc he went slowly. He replaced my crown and a year later, not only is the crown still there (I haven't broken or cracked it), but not a single jaw pain or headache from his procedure the entire year later. Almost as much as I love Humboldt, I love Dr. Vert. The forest wins out, but c'mon man, it's Humboldt... One last thing: I wish he'd also do root canals. I don't like traveling all the way to Santa Rosa for root canal (though the dentist Dr. Vert recommended was pretty good too).
