Dr. Thomas Sonneveld has created beautiful smiles since 1993. He earned his dental degree from Loyola University College of Dentistry in 1986. Following dental school, he joined the United States Air Force, completing a General Practice Residency and serving an additional three years as a General Dental Officer. Following his Air Force commitment, Dr. Sonneveld enrolled at The Ohio State University, earning a Masters degree and Certificate of Orthodontics.
Dr. Sonneveld belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Sonneveld worked as a Registered Nurse.
Dr. Craig Sonneveld, an Orland Park native who graduated from District 135, Carl Sandburg HS and later St. Xavier University, earned his dental degree in 2012 from Marquette University. He then completed an Internship and Residency at Seton Hill University, earning a Masters Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics in 2015. He has been a practicing orthodontist in Nashville, TN since graduation. Craig began working at Sonneveld Orthodontics in the summer of 2019 and is excited to be working alongside his father.

The Sonneveld Orthodontics team is made up of passionate, caring individuals who work hard to provide Invisalign Teen and braces throughout Oak Forest and Tinley Park. Each member of our team has over 20 years of experience working with Dr. Sonneveld.

I found Dr. Sonneveld and his team to be very professional, and provided great no-nonsense treatment. The treatment plan and timeline were explained clearly, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and I am very pleased with the results. I liked the experience so much that one child is in treatment, and another will likely be starting soon. Highly, highly recommend.

First I would like to say dr Sonneveld is very attentive to his patients and the parents, very detail oriented. He does not rush the process of putting the braces on and taking them off, he makes sure everything is just right. His staff is also the most wonderful people in an office setting. Very friendly and all have been there for so long and even after the Covid pandemic they're all still there. So that really says a lot about Dr Sonneveld himself. I'd say the best orthodontist in our area. He has flexible hours and really works with the parents and kids busy schedules. Awesome very highly recommended

I saw Dr. Sonneveld in the late 1990s and early 2000s for orthodontic treatment. I needed early intervention around age 8 for severe overbite. I had my first set of metal braces for about a year, then 2 years off and my second set for about 2 years, finishing in 2003. I can say I've diligently worn retainers since then (every night!) and have since moved away and had to see a few different dentists over the years. Every dentist who looks in my mouth is, at first, speechless, then repeatedly compliments my amazing teeth, bite and alignment. They always want to know where I went for treatment. It's a huge testament to Dr. Sonneveld and his hard work that even 16 years later (and counting!) my teeth are a rare sight, even amongst dentists. Thank you for the amazing dedication and patience, I'm forever grateful!

They did such an amazing job with my braces that I came back years later for Invisalign after my teeth shifted slightly from not wearing my retainer... oops.
