Thomas Blake, DDS Dr. Blake received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 at the University of Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco. In order to provide his uncompromising level of excellence, Dr. Blake participates in extensive continuing education with the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Blake also participates in two monthly study clubs, The Seattle Study Club, Santa Barbara Chapter, and the Santa Barbara Interdisciplinary Esthetic Dental Network, and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Santa Barbara/Ventura County Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Blake has been married to his wife Krista for over 20 years. They have two beautiful children, 17-year-old Connor and 14-year-old Sophia, Avi, their Weimaraner, and the latest addition to their family, Beau, a golden labradoodle. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Blake enjoys surfing, fishing and diving.
Carole Lapinsky, RDA Lead Dental Assistant Carole was born in Canada, has been an RDA for over 30 years, and has great insight into all aspects of dentistry. She has worked with many dentists in both Canada and California before coming to work with Dr. Blake in August 2016. Dr. Blake is certainly one of the most detailed dentists that I have had the privilege to work for, the commitment to providing not just good, but great care is extremely evident. I refer my family and friends to this practice for that reason. Working with such a skilled dentist and committed team has been great!
BriAnna joined our office in August 2018 after practicing in Santa Rosa for 11 years. She graduated at the top of her class in 2008 and continued her education through volunteering at The Berkley Free Clinic. She also obtained her Bachelors Degree in Health Science in 2021. We could not be more confident in her ability to uphold our office standard of providing the highest quality care for each and every patient.
I am passionate about hygiene because it fulfills my desire to help people in any shape or form. Dental hygiene is a very important aspect of peoples overall health. I grew up around Santa Barbara, if youre a local you are probably familiar with my hometown: Ojai. A few hobbies of mine are hiking with my pup, spearfishing, and all beach activities. I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Blakes office for two years now and have loved every moment of it!
Kisha was introduced to the dental industry in 2006 when a catering job for a dentist led to an offer of work in his practice in 2017. The dynamic nature of the work and evolution in treatment applications was captivating and she has been hooked ever since. In her spare time Kisha enjoys hiking the gorgeous Santa Barbara trails, rock hounding, dance class, and spending too much time on Hoopla.
Nikky was born in a small town in Northern California, and moved to Santa Barbara in 2010 with her husband. She has been the patient coordinator for Dr. Blake since January 2018, and has gotten to know and grown to care for every one of his patients.
I never knew that a work environment could feel so inclusive and supportive! Our patients are really some of the greatest people I have met here in Santa Barbara and I feel so much pride in being part of a team that provides them the best standard of dental care I have ever seen!

I have been a patient for several years and have to say they are THE BEST dental practice I have been associated with. In an emergency they have been super responsive, during the pandemic they have worked hard to keep EVERYONE, patients and staff safe. Efficient, friendly and competent. Love these guys.

Dr. Thomas Blake, DDS, is the Best Dentist in Santa Barbara. His office offers excellent dental care and the best dental advice to their patients in the most beautiful and comfortable surroundings. I am so very grateful to have such a caring and amazing dentist and team looking after my dental health and general well-being. 5-gold stars is just not enough! I've been going to Dr. Blake for 4+ years now and have nothing but positive experiences every visit. In addition to getting regular cleanings with BriAnna (who is super thorough yet gentle, and just so sweet), I went through the process of getting two dental implants with Dr. Blake. His office was fantastic during the entire process. They helped make such a stressful (and expensive) process as easy as it could be. I would highly recommend their office to anyone who needs dental implants. Their front office is just as fantastic as their back office. Truly a dream team. Not to mention their office is stunning and feels like a trip to a spa. I've been a patient at a couple of dentists in Santa Barbara, but Dr. Blake is by far the best.

I have been a patient of Dr Blake since 2014 and I can't say enough great comments regarding him as a dentist and person, including all his staff ...It's comforting to know his office is equipped with state of the art in technology and the space is clean... immaculate.!! I had been to other dentists in the past with not much success... my two front teeth that been nocked out in an accident in 2003 and my replacement teeth never looked anywhere near as good until Dr Blake set in a new pair 6 years ago... no one can tell they aren't my real teeth now! I've also had quite a few amalgam fillings replaced and extra precaution is always taken by them when dealing with that type of filling removal that goes beyond what i had experienced before, which definitely put me at ease. No detail is overlooked with either Dr Blake or his friendly helpful staff. A++++ !!!

Always a great experience! I'm not a fan of having any dental work done, but I'm so happy with everyone at this office. Dr Blake takes his time to explain his plan of care and why he makes certain recommendations. His staff are all very friendly and very competent. I highly recommend this office for your dental care!

Just finished a cleaning and exam. Briana, the hygienist, was her usual friendly, gentle and efficient self. She did a thorough job and provided useful feedback and advice for better oral hygiene. Dr Blake did a brief but comprehensive exam, was his usual friendly self, and answered my questions. I didn't feel rushed even though it was lunch time. Overall a very satisfactory dental experience. I highly recommend Dr Blake and his staff.
