After attending Virginia Tech for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Gromling chose to pursue his doctorate at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1979. Hes also undergone fellowships in forensic odontology at McGill University in Montreal and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio through the Center for Education and Research in Forensics.
Dr. Gromling regularly participates in continuing education courses, most prominently the L.D. Pankey Institute Continuum for Advanced Dentistry, the Misch Implant Institute restorative program, and the Dawson series of continuing education programs. He also has advanced training in forensic dentistry and obstructive sleep apnea treatment. He has regularly been asked to assist with the identification of deceased individuals at medical examiner offices and even consults with local law enforcement and the forensic team at the local hospital regarding cases of possible abuse and bitemark pattern injuries. He is currently on the review panel with CJIS and the FBI to assist with missing and unidentified cases.
Dr. Gromling has been residing in the Winchester area since 1980, and he and his wife Sharen have two grown children. Together, they like to do a lot of races half-marathons are their favorite distance. They are also very big Disney fans and enjoy regularly going to Walt Disney World, regularly running the races they sponsor through the parks. Theyre big travelers and enjoy planning their vacations around these races!
Jennifer has been a member of our team for three years and counting, with five years spent in the oral healthcare field as a whole. Her favorite part of this position is being able to interact with patients so warmly and give them a positive first impression of the dental office!
Malissa has enjoyed working in the oral healthcare for over 15 years so far. She loves forming strong, trusting bonds with patients! Outside of the dental office, she has a husband and the most beautiful daughter in the world. She spends her free time with her loved ones. In addition to her dental expertise, she also has a license in cosmetology.
April earned her degree at Virginia Western Community College/Lord Fairfax Community College joint venture Dental Hygiene Program and graduated in 2014 summa cum laude. She was also presented the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for clinical excellence and compassionate service. Since joining our team in 2015, April has had a tremendous impact on the care of the patients in the dental office and is routinely complimented on her thoroughness and comfortable treatment. Helping her patients maintain and improve their oral health is her passion. April has an active lifestyle of running, biking and kayaking with her wonderful husband and 2 beautiful daughters.
Kims career in dentistry spans three decades so far, and she really enjoys helping with cosmetic restorations above all else as an assistant. Outside of work, she and her husband have three children, as well as two grandchildren. She is very passionate about collecting antiques in her spare time!
A Virginia native, Cortney completed her studies at Northern Virginia Community College. For the last 4+ years, she has enjoyed being a part of each patients journey to a healthy, confident smile. In fact, thats her favorite part of her job! Outside the office, you can find her spending time with her family, completing projects around the house, and baking. She also enjoys taking a vacation to the Outer Banks every summer.

I had a failed root canal 2 years ago from a severe infection, Dr. Gromling squeezed me in for an xray on an hours notice. Once he saw the problem he called another dentist to get a 3600 view of this monster infection, because of him I was there within an hour. After the decision we made I went In to have this tooth pulled within 2 days! 2 DAYS! soon after I got the implant on I had some cavities that needed filled he got them done within a month and half! And my crown came in early! Nothing but good experiences throughout the last year with him (even with my fear of dentists and their tools) they're so welcoming and make you as comfortable as they can while they're working on you ! Thank you Tom!!

I've been wearing top dentures for 15 years + Dr.Gromling is the first dentist to get me a top denture that fits and doesn't flip, I've had full bottoms for about a year first set was a temp from Dr. Gromling now I have a permanent bottom and now we are going through the adjustment period, any time I need a adjustment he gets me in right away. He's very patient and listens to my concerns. The staff is "Superb". makes you feel very welcomed and they all are very concerned about your well being. I have recommended a friend and she is also very happy with her results. Thank you Dr.Gromling you're the best. I would highly recommend Dr. Gromling for your dental needs.

DO NOT GET THE MOUTH GAURD FROM HIM TO STOP SNORING IT DOES NOT WORK!!! You will be paying 4,000.00 for a piece that DOES NOT WORK!! He will keep telling you to give it time we'll my husband has gave it 3 years and it STILL DOES NOT WORK HE STILL SNORS VERY LOUDLY!! He told my husband to loose weight don't smoke don't drink alcohol my husband did those things and still DOES NOT WORK!! He is selling a product to people that is a LIE!!! 4,000.00 is a lot of money to collect from someone he basically stole it from us for lying on a product that he claims works better than a c-pap machine!!

I have gone to this dentist for the past 3 years. He is so personable! He doesn't charge for things you don't need and he wont try to sell you on things you don't need. He even works with my insurance! I live in WV and go to this dentist! That should really say something.

Dr. Gromling is about as good as it gets with dentistry! I had a cap put on a tooth recently and it went very very smoothly with little to no discomfort on my part. After that I had my wisdom teeth taken out (I'm 23 years old). The procedure lasted maybe a half hour during which I felt absolutely no discomfort (other than general numbness and a little prick or two from the numbing medicine being injected) and afterwords, while I had heard horror stories about people not being able to chew or talk or eat solid food for days or even weeks, I was eating softer foods the same day and eating solid and hard food within 36 hours. I had mild discomfort for 2 days, but after that I honestly forgot I'd even gotten them taken out until someone mentioned it! Gromling is a fantastic dentist and I hope to get all of my dental work done by him and his awesome team!
