At Thomas A. Copulos DDS, PA, we are proud to offer quality periodontal care. As specialists, we are uniquely qualified to treat issues of the gums and bones in the mouth. Furthermore, each member of our team is dedicated to providing our patients with a premium experience.

As a periodontal practice, we specialize in preventing, diagnosing, and treating the various stages of periodontal disease. We believe early detection can eliminate or reduce major oral health complications and prevent the need for many invasive procedures. As such, we place a great deal of our focus on prevention and early implementation.

Periodontal services may include gum and bone grafting, receding gum treatment, dental implants, tooth replacement, and surgery. We can make alterations to treatments for patients with other existing medical or oral conditions, those taking interacting medications, or those unable to undergo certain dental procedures. By the end of the treatment, our goal is to create a more healthy oral cavity while enhancing patients physical appearance.

Since 8th grade, Dr. Copulos wanted to be a dentist. His personal experience with orthodontics and oral surgery sparked his interest in becoming a dentist. He focused his education, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, toward going to Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. In dental school, Dr. Copulos was at the top of his class and received many honors for research. One of his professors approached him and suggested that he would make a great periodontist. Dr. Copulos worked as a general dentist in his hometown of Miami for two years, and then applied for a Periodontal Residency program. He was accepted at the University of Florida and completed his residency in 1992. He started practicing in Boca Raton and opened his own office in 1995. Doctor Thomas A. Copulos earned his Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a board certification, in 1995. He is a past President of the Florida Association of Periodontists and a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association.

Josh has always been involved in the field of medicine; his father is a Vascular Interventional Radiologist at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He moved to Boca Raton from Australia when he was 18 and completed his senior year of high school at Donna Klein Academy. He attended FAU and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Exercise Science. While pursuing a career as a personal trainer, he began to dream of becoming a dentist. He enrolled into the Dental Assisting Academy of the Palm Beaches where he completed his Expanded Duties certification. He completed his required internship with Dr. Copulos and was added to our staff because of his passion for dentistry and his desire to help our patients. We are working with Josh to help him achieve his dream and enroll in a dental school in 2020. He has since fallen in love with periodontics, and hopes to become a periodontist in the future.

A native of Glenburnie, Maryland, Ruth started in dentistry right out of high school. Working for her family dentist, she trained as a dental assistant before moving to the front desk. In 2004, she moved to Florida and continued her dental career as an expert in dental insurance. She worked with one dentist in Boynton Beach until he retired. She brings to our office a wealth of information on dental insurance specific to Florida. In her free time, Ruth enjoys boating, fishing and gardening.

Irina is a native of Russia. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree at State Polytechnic University she move to Florida. She always had a passion for Dentistry. In 2015, she graduated from Miami Dade College Dental Hygiene Program. Irina joined our practice in 2021 as our main hygienist. In her free time, she likes power walking and working out at the gym. She enjoys cooking, knitting and sewing clothes.

Alyssa was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. She received her bachelor 's degree in Biomedical Science and a minor in Psychology at the University of North Florida. At the age of 6, she developed 'shark teeth', where her permanent teeth came in behind her primary teeth. This could have been terrifying for most kids, but she found the dentist 's office to be welcoming and was fascinated by learning how the instruments affect the teeth. Since then, she has been pursuing a career in dentistry and plans on becoming a dentist. Her goal is to make sure the patients feel comfortable and at ease when visiting the office of Dr. Copulos. When she is not in the office, she enjoys exercising, volunteering, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.
