Dr. Bunner was born December 22, 1955 in Fort Wayne, IN. He graduated from Northrop High School in 1974 and upon graduation, attended Ball State University for his Under Grad and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Indiana University in 1986 with highest grades in Operative Dentistry and Crown and Bridge Clinic.
His dental history after graduation dental school began in Harlan, Indiana. He opened his own practice after renovating an existing building in Harlan, putting in many hour of work to do so. His dedication to open up this practice emminates to all that he does. His strong desire for patient care and unfaltering work ethic shows that he is in it for the long haul.
In 2008 Dr. Bunner opened up his new practice on St. Joe Center Road to be able to better serve his patients needs and to provide a more accessible location. He is a member of the American Dental Association, The Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, and the Indiana Dental Society. Dr. Bunner considers his faith, Blackhawk Ministries and his family first in his life. His family includes his wife Trisha, daughters Jaycee and Casey and son Jimmy. His hobbies include Track and Field (pole vaulting) and golf.

The staff is very friendly and I have to say, Dr. Bunner seems very knowledgeable as a dentist but my consultation at 6:30 a.m. mostly consisted of stories and praise about himself. Unfortunately he came across as arrogant and hauty. Out of a 2 hour consultation approximately 30 min was spent on my dental needs. His cost is very high as well. I have nothing negative to say about him, he seems nice enough, but he might want to focus on his patient more than on himself. I decided to go with another dentist and my cost was about 1/2 of Dr. Bunners quote

A friend recommended Dr Bunner, and I have been pleased with my experiences. Dr Bunner and his staff are pleasant and do an excellent job. My hygienist this last time even smoothed out a tiny rough spot on the side of my front tooth (which I didn't mention because four years ago another hygienist, at a different office, couldn't find it when I asked her if she could work on it, so I'd resigned myself to just dealing with it). I appreciate the excellent care!

I switched dentists after Dr.Bunner did a 2nd opinion for my children and now he and his lovely team takes great care of my entire family! I truly believe this is one of the best decisions I have EVER made. His team and quality of work still amazes me at every visit. They are very clean, friendly, informative, and my favorite part is that my family feels at home when we're there. We are welcomed, educated and ALWAYS communicated with in the best of ways. I will never step foot in another dentist's office, and will always reccomend my friends and loved ones to experience this absolutely wonderful dentist family of ours. I'm absolutely positive they will not have a better experience elsewhere.

Had a dental emergency and insurance suggested this office. I hate the dentist in general but this place was very nice and welcoming from the environment to the staff. The dentist talked to me personally and I felt like he really cared about me as an individual patient. I can confirm that he is not money hungry. He did the minimally necessary testing to diagnose and fix my issue saving me money and radiation exposure. I overheard his interactions with other patients while I waited and this seemed true with them as well. I need to order a custom sleeping mouth piece and I plan to call here first.

this people here care more about how to get your money than anything else, greedy people... they always pushing you to buy products from them. i asked several times not to do anything that my insurance wouldn't cover and they lied to my face they said the insurance will cover the 80 percent, they even said they confirmed it!.. after few weeks they send me a 600usd bill cause my insurance don't want to pay. Don't trust this office! they only care about money...

I only give him 1 star because it will not let me give him 0. This guy is one of the worst human beings I have ever met. I wanted to cancel my appointment because I did not have time to make it so he threatens me with a $200 charge for cancelling and told me that it was only going to be $250 so it would be worth my time to just figure it out and come in. I worked my schedule around to make it in because I would rather pay $250 and get work done than pay $200 and have nothing done. When I finished up they told me I actually owed nothing because of a referral I got from another person. Just received a call from his office that they were wrong because they "did not click on my appointment for fillings" and that I owed $861!!!!!! Think about that... my mortgage is less than that. This guy is a scam artist and should not be trusted.

Great high tech dentist who cares about your teeth. If you make an appointment and don't show up the professional person loses money. This puts any professional in a difficult situation, do they take the financial hit or do they charge you for the appointment? People who are late for appointments or do not show up deserve to be billed PERIOD. Additionally as for getting a second opinion, not all dentists decide intervention is required equally. Some dentists are more appropriate for poor people or people who do not care about their teeth, choose a dentist that is best for your goals but do not criticize a dentist that wants your teeth to be perfect. If you are not willing to do the entire treatment plan that is your decision.

Dr. Bunner and his staff as seriously the most friendliest people alive. You walk into a clean and beautiful office and are greeted by a smiling face or two. Also coffee can't forget the coffee. It is a great place for families too. They made my kids feel like they are part of the family. My kids were not scared at all which is different from a lot of other dentist. Usually we have a set of tears or two but here they were comfortable and calm. At the end they made friends with the whole office including Mrs. Bunner who is equally as friendly and kind as her husband. They have the latest and greatest technology which is great for keeping my teeth healthy. Also they were very good at educating me on my oral health. I am very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism this office provided. If you are in the market for a dentist this is the place to go! I promise you will not regret it.

Get a second opinion if he tells you that you need a bunch of work, not only did he tell me I had 6 cavities, but also tried to sell me special mouth wash,toothbrush and toothpaste cause I had 'gingivitis'. I knew right away he was after money,I got second opinion...I had 1 cavity! Also, don't get pressured into making another appointment because they make it so difficult to cancel,I was even threatened I would be charged for my cancelled visit. Both the wife and I have used Thomas A Bunner for years. This is the dentist we trust, to all extents. We have had others, this is the one we trust, and have trusted. His work lasts longer than any other dentist, does not do unnecessary work. His crew has impeccable manners and training. And with CERAC, crowns on the same day as prep. Outstanding place to have dentistry.
