He was born in Walla Walla and earned a Bachelor of Science in Plant Genetics from Brigham Young University prior to returning to his home state for dental school. During their years in Seattle, Dr. Baker fell in love with the rain, and his wife, Sarah, fell in love with the city. They chose to make Seattle their home and love raising their three children here.
Establishing long-term relationships with his patients and working with a great team are two of the things Dr. Baker enjoys most about his job. When he is not working, Dr. Baker loves playing rugby, camping with his family, listening to music, and playing his didgeridoo.
As a dentist, Dr. Baker makes continuing education in the latest dental research a priority. His philosophy is that the best dental health is achieved when the dentist is educated in current research and maintains an ongoing relationship with each patient. He looks forward to working together with you to achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
The driving vision for my entire career has been very simple: offer excellent care while making every dental visit a positive experience and do whatever I can to have a positive effect on the dental profession as a whole. These goals are still the basis for everything we do here at Seattle Dental Associates. I look forward to sharing a positive dental experience with you and your family.
Being an active member of the community, both professionally and personally, has always been one of my top priorities. I am an Executive Board Member of the University of Washington Dental Alumni Association where I also served as the Dean Jones Lecture Chairman for 32 years and as President. In 2014, I was elected President of the International College of Dentists and am nowRegent of the International College of Dentists, supervising the five northwestern states and serving on the Foundation Board.
I am also a Board Member and Managing Director of the University of the Washington State Oral Health Foundation. In my local community, I am the Board President of Sharing Alongside Ministry at Shoreline Community Church.
My wife, MaryAnn, and I met during our undergraduate years at the U of W. We have four wonderful grown children and eight beautiful grandchildren. My time outside of the office is focused on my family, but when I do get free time i enjoy fishing, listening to music, and traveling.
She grew up as a second-generation American and witnessed firsthand the impact that a smile makeover can have on ones life and confidence. Born and raised in Lacey, Dr Phan is a Washington native and received a Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude from Saint Martins University. From there, she moved to Seattle where she graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Go dawgs!
Early in her life, Dr. Phan was drawn to the philanthropic side of dentistry and that motivated her to become a dentist. While at the University of Washington, she was heavily involved with the Health and Homelessness volunteer group and provided free dentistry to the surrounding communities of King County. Dr. Phan now volunteers with the Annual Seattle King County Dental Clinic where more than 20,000 patients have been provided free healthcare.
Dr. Phan loves that her profession allows her to meet a diverse group of patients, create memorable relationships, and listen to their life experiences. She also enjoys going to continuing education courses so that she can provide her patients with the highest quality of care.
Outside of dentistry, you can find her spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Petey. She enjoys Seattle summers on the lake, hiking, and fishing, and crabbing along the Hood Canal. In the winter you can find her trading in cold rainy days of Washington for the sunshine and beach while visiting her family in Hawaii.
