On February 1, 2020, after more than five years working in a successful dental practice, Dr. Christensen made the leap and became the practice owner of The Village Dentistry (formerly BLVD Rice Village). Dr. Christensen is committed to providing patients with exceptional dental care and met her associate, Dr. Stuart, while doing something they are both passionate about continuing education courses. Both doctors are dedicated to going above and beyond by engaging in further education and training so that they can provide patients with exceptional dental care. Dr. Christensen and Dr. Stuart share the same philosophy: How they treat their patients! The team at The Village Dentistry treats every patient like a new patient, every time they visit the practice. They take pride in their collaborative approach to patient care, and they want The Village Dentistry to be the place that patients feel confident going to for their Cosmetic and General Dentistry needs.
Dr. Ashley Peet Christensen first decided she wanted to be a dentist when she was twelve years old. She fell in love with dentistry after a take-your-daughter-to-work day with her father, an Oral Surgeon in the Air Force. What started out as a good excuse to spend the day with her dad, became her passion, and she loves it to this day!
After earning her Bachelors in Nutritional Science from Brigham Young University, Dr. Christensen earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Christensen strives to provide the best dentistry options to her patients and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education, with advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and veneers.
Dr. Christensen grew up throughout the United States and even spent some of her junior and high school years in Germany! She moved to Houston for dental school and is proud to call it home! Dr. Christensen realized her childhood dream when she became the proud owner of The Village Dentistry in February 2020.
Dr. Sarah Stuart hails from central Texas and grew up with a love of science and a natural interest in solving puzzles. She attended the University of Alabama, where she received her bachelors in chemistry. From there, she went on to the University of Texas, Austin, to pursue her PhD in analytical chemistry. She soon realized that, although she enjoyed the process of discovery that working in research brings, she desired to work with people! This led her to the University of Texas School of Dentistry (Houston) where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Stuart enjoys helping her patients achieve and maintain good oral health, while helping them discover the confidence and personal satisfaction of a lifelong smile. She values her patients as individuals and provides them with high-quality care, unique to each patients needs. As the science of dentistry is constantly evolving, she believes strongly in continued education in order to best serve her patients.
Dr. Stuart is a lover of animals, particularly cats, and when not providing dental care to the members of her community, can be found volunteering at a local animal shelter, enjoying the gym, or traveling with friends. Dr. Stuart is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Robert Schudy is a graduate of Memorial High School. After high school, he became a Horned Frog at TCU, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where he earned his DDS. During his time there, he met his wife Yvette, also a dental student! They both graduated from dental school in 2011 and moved to Brownsville shortly after, where they served as a general dentists in community health centers.
After several years in practice, Dr. Schudy decided to return to school to earn his Certificate of Orthodontics at Seton Hill University, outside of Pittsburgh, PA. During his residency, Dr. Schudy conducted a study evaluating Invisalign as a part of earning his Masters of Science. Dr. Schudy has been a Board Certifed Orthodontist since 2020. He is proud to be a third-generation orthodontist following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. There has been a Schudy orthodontist serving the Houston area since 1946!
Dr. Schudy, his wife Yvette, and their daughter Sara moved back to the Houston area following his graduation in 2019. In the summer of 2020, they welcomed a twin boy and girl to the family! When he isnt in office helping patient realize their smile goals, Dr. Schudy enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and serving the community. Dr. Schudy loves working with youth and has worked with various youth organizations like Camp Ozark in Arkansas and YoungLife. Dr. Schudy is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, and The Greater Houston Dental Society.
