We are a family dental practice located in Vernon, CT serving the nearby communities of Tolland and Hartford Counties. We are dedicated to providing exceptional, modern dental care for of all members of your family, from children to seniors, in a welcoming and comfortable environment .
Local residents will be familiar with our unique dental office, located on Rte. 30 in Vernon, just down the road from Lafayette Plaza, across from the Northeast School and Natures Grocer. This office was built 25 years ago by Dr. Harold Kadish. Many of his former patients may also recognize the new owner and dentist Dr. Katerina Ashland.
Our office is dedicated to our patients' comfort and convenience. Less than a mile from Exit 67 off I-84, our office is conveniently located for residents of Tolland, Willington, Stafford, Rockville, Ellington, Vernon, Coventry and Bolton. We offer off-street parking and easy access for seniors and strollers alike, no steps or stairs to climb.
Once inside, you will find inviting reception area with an atrium ceiling and all the comforts of home. No hard waiting-room chairs here. Instead, you will find comfortable leather seating, plenty to read, complimentary coffee bar, and a flat-screen TV.
Dr. Ashland knows the important role every member of her team plays in ensuring you a great total experience at The Tooth Fixer. With this in mind a lot of thought and care is given in choosing the very best professionals to support her in this goal. From answering your phone calls politely and professionally, to making sure you are comfortable while having treatment, every staff member shares in this commitment. This dedication is continued through ongoing education to ensure our staff is knowledgeable on the latest dental technology, treatment and office procedures.
Dr. Ashland first became a dentist in Europe in 1999. After moving to the US, she came to work at this very office. During this time, she was encouraged her to return to dental school so that she could again practice dentistry here in the United States. She graduated from the UConn School of Dental Medicine and went on to complete a residency program at VCU in Richmond, Virginia. While practicing at a busy and prestigious practice in Lynchburg VA, Dr. Ashland realized how much she missed the charm of New England. She decided to move back home to Connecticut. Whether by chance or destiny, she was given the exciting opportunity to own and practice the very same office where her journey began.
Dr. Ashland is guided by the simple philosophy of treating each patient as if they were a member of her own family. She is gentle, compassionate and dedicated to caring for her patients dental needs and concerns. She looks forward to providing the community excellent dental care for many years to come. Danielle, and her husband Paul of 35 years, have just moved back to New England after spending nearly 30 years in Arizona. Originally from the Berkshires, Danielle and Paul moved out West to explore new careers, and have travelled extensively throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. They have two adult children, Jessica and Kasey, who love going on adventures with their parents; hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, boating, rafting and especially hanging out on California/Mexico beaches. Kasey is a doctoral viola performance student at the Hartt Music school in Hartford, is part of the 20/20 travelling string ensemble, gives lessons and plays at local venues. Jessica, who is learning disabled, worked for 12 years at WalMart in Arizona, and recently started working at Walmart locally. She loves to do crafts.
Danielles dental education began many years ago in North Adams Massachusetts at the McCann Technical Institute. Upon graduation, she worked for an Endodontist in Pittsfield MA as a Certified Dental Assistant. In Arizona, she began an extensive career as the Office Assistant and Manager for a General Dentist. She also received her Associates degree in Office Management from Mesa Community College. Danielle is excited about continuing her dental career here on the East coast, enjoying time catching up with old friends and relatives, and exploring those parts of New England that she has not visited yet.
Lynn became a dental hygienist in 1979. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Tunxis Community College in Farmington and completed her practical work at UConn Health Center. Lynn met Dr. Ashland nearly 20 years ago working together with her in this very office. After a number of years apart, their paths would cross again. Lynn feels blessed to be back working as a hygienist at the Tooth Fixer. Lynn and her husband Gary will be married for 40 years in 2021! They have 2 adult, married daughters and are very proud of them both! She loves to spend time with her family, travel, camp, and go hiking. Lynn has a strong Christian faith and gives much of her time volunteering and helping those in need. She delivers Meals on Wheels and volunteers at the town soup kitchen. She has made mission trips to Alaska, New Orleans, Haiti and the Philippines, bringing dental supplies and providing dental services and education. Lynn has also volunteered six times at the CT Mission of Mercy. At work, Lynn enjoys caring for her patients, and educating them to help them achieve excellent oral health!
Denise started her career as a Dental Assistant eighteen years ago. She graduated from the Porter & Chester Institute in Enfield. After graduation, she was hired to work for a pediatric dentist in Simsbury, CT. She worked there for five years. She then worked for a general dentist in Enfield, CT for the next ten years. Denise has now begun the next chapter in her dental career, working as a full-time Assistant for Dr. Ashland right here at The Tooth Fixer Family Dental Care. Now living in Tolland county, Denise enjoys spending her free-time with her husband and family, hiking, photographing wildlife and travelling. Her chairside patient care is top-notch. We are glad to have her on our team.
Heather joined our team in 2020. She started her career in the dental field back in 2011 after graduating from the Windham Tech post-graduate Dental Assistant program. Prior to this, she spent nine years as a nursing assistant. Heather is a loving Mom and Step-mom as well as an avid animal lover. Its pretty clear that taking care of others comes very natural to Heather, and it shows in how well she treats our patients every day. We feel lucky to have her working with us here at The Tooth Fixer, and you will too. In her spare time, Heather enjoys her photography hobby and spending quality time with her family.

Bad service, it took 5 days and 3 visit to the office to get my 1 page form filled out. I can't talk to the dentist person there, either.

By far the best dentist I have ever been to. Never have I had a dentist be so attentive to the individual needs of her patients. She calls me herself sometimes to reschedule and always has a bright and cheerful attitude. Her staff is so professional and have followed Dr. Ashland's example of making sure every patient is treated with respect, and the utmost professionalism. They demonstrate their continuing education and interest in their careers every time I'm there. I've been seeing her for 6 years now and wouldn't dream of switching.

I am 67 years old and DR Ashland is by far the best dentist I have ever had. Totally customer friendly and individually focused on the needs of every patient. Yes, DR Ashland does do pediatric dentistry as well.

Amazing dentist! Dr. Ashland does a wonderful job! I had to leave my prior dentist after almost 10 years and I'm so glad I switched. She is super nice, friendly, knowledgeable, competent. I highly recommend her. The office is extremely clean and go above and beyond with the COVID precautions. All patients must wash their hands. The office staff are also friendly and nice. Don't hesitate to call them!

The care Dr. Ashland showed by being upfront, honest and thorough throughout my appointment was incredible! She took the time to speak to me and really listen to any concerns I had about my teeth. This was my first medical appointment ever where the office staff showed me my total bill prior to my proceedure and went over the after insurance costs to be sure that what I would be charged was transparent. It is care like that which is really unique about this Dentist. I highly recommend her and her staff for a thorough cleaning and exam!

My husband and I have been coming here for almost 4 years now. Each appointment has never been a disappointment! They make going to the dentist painless and easy! I always feel welcomed and it truly feels like I've known the staff all my life. I always leave feeling like I have a new set of beautiful teeth! We're moving out of state and I wish I could take this office and staff with me! Thank you for the great service and kindness! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I absolutely hate going to the dentist -- or at least I used to! Doctor Ashland and her staff, Carol and Danielle are fantastic. Danielle, who is the Patient Coordinator, is very professional and courteous. Carol, who is the Dental Assistant, is an absolute pleasure to talk to and very very kind. I had lot of questions and Carol had just as many answers. Lastly, Dr. Ashland is hands down the best dentist I have even been to. Her level of expertise, her gentle hands, her in-depth explanation, everything just everything was unlike any other. I have a follow-up appointment in a few weeks and I'm actually looking forward to it! I have recommended Dr. Ashland to several of my friends who hate going to the dentist. I recommend her to you as well.

One of the best dentists I've seen! Everybody is so nice! I feel like I was treated by a family doctor :D The primary dentist, Dr. Ashland, did an excellent job diagnosing and fixing my tooth problems. She's also very gentle and patient. My few words may not be sufficient to justify her quality. Here's what I heard from the orthodontist (in another clinic 10 miles away) who removed my molar: Dr. Ashland is a V-E-R-Y good dentist. I highly recommend this place!

The Tooth Fixer, Dr. Katerina Ashland, is a highly skilled, very gentle dentist. She is so caring, will follow up after a procedure to see how you are doing. Dr. Ashland is personable, and puts you at ease. I have had several dental procedures here, all with excellent results. Dr. Ashland's staff is friendly and professional. The office is decorated beautifully and very calming. The Tooth Fixer has very convenient hours for appointments. I am so pleased with my dental care, and highly recommend Dr. Katerina Ashland for all your dental needs.
