Providing world-class dentistry and improving my patients dental function, overall health, and aesthetics is extremely fulfilling, both on a personal and a professional level. Even after practicing dentistry for 33 years, each day continues to be unique because each case and every patient is unique. Practicing in the heart of the melting pot of the world, Ive met and have come to know many people from all corners of the globe and have had cultural exchanges from a unique cross section of New Yorkers, all of whom enrich me personally.
I completed my undergraduate education at Brandeis University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1978. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981 from New York University College of Dentistry. While my formal education is complete, my thirst for knowledge is never ending. I attend numerous forms of continuing education every year and I am always incorporating new and improved advanced dental equipment, materials and techniques to improve patient care and satisfaction.
I work in association with Donated Dental Services, a program for disadvantaged people with dental needs that have neither the financial resources nor public assistance for their dental care. The smiles and grateful responses I receive from these patients are the warmest and most sincere of all, sometimes even accompanied by tears of joy upon completion of their care. These add to some of my fondest memories from my years of practice.
While I may be passionate about my Green Bay Packers and, over the past 33 years of establishing Herald Square Dental & The Denture Center as one of New York Citys premier dental offices, my practice is of great importance to me however, the reality is that I am most passionate about my family. Both my wife, Joan and myself come from very close families and we are the proud parents of three grown young men, James, Joshua, and Lucas, and our wonderful dog, Riggs. Although little league baseball, recreation league basketball, Jazz band, and forensics has faded into spirited debates about politics and our beloved NY Mets, it is always with love, warmth, and passion. My hobbies of hiking and traveling would be empty if I were not sharing those with the one I am most passionate about, my wife Joanie!

The practice changed with the buy out by smilist. They were top notch. I can't say that now. No dr was around for an emergency.

The worst service ever ,they charged my husband as if he did not have insurance. Then when proof of insurance was provided they have not refunded our money back I have called numerous times about this matter &manager said she will call me back &has not ! This has been going on for over 6 weeks now The Dentist are excellent however The new owners are not @all professional &responsive to their patients Unfortunately they have lost long time patients we will never go back there again!!

Had my first but not my last Dental appointment for a cleaning. Everyone from the front staff, staff passing were so pleasant. Tracy my hygienist, was kind professional and made me feel valued. My dentist Dr. Morgan was the cherry on top, (I'm like a female dentist, yea). I would recommend anyone to come and visit this location. You won't be disappointed.

I have been attending this dental practice for more years than I can remember. The office staff have always been polite, accommodating, and expeditious in handling any insurance / billing issues. The dental hygienists are all very pleasant and thorough. As for the dentists, they are very personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this dental practice.

The staff is phenomenal always friendly, courteous and accommodating to my schedule. Dr.Bernstein and his assistant eases my fear of going to the dentist. Dr.Bernstein is awesome!!! No more pain and fear of going to the dentist!!!!My entire family is patients at Dental Associates of Valley Stream

I have been going to this practice for 44 years. The reason is the care I receive not only from Dr. Bernstein, but the staff as well. They are Knowledgeable and keep up to date on the latest procedures. They will refer if necessary depending on your needs A very clean office and always friendly. Thank you Dr. Bernstein and Staff!

As I'm sure you all (review readers) can relate, the pain I was in almost drove me to pulling the tooth out myself with a wrench ; but I'm happy I waited. I called Dental associates of VS and they accommodated me immediately. The staff was pleasant and the office was very clean. Dr. Bernstein and his assistant Andrene was professional and personable. It was as good of an experience as getting a root canal can be. I would strongly recommend their services!!

Best experience. All the staff are courteous, professional and make you feel very comfortable. I have sensitive teeth but the dental hygienist Jasmine gave me THE BEST PAINLESS cleaning I ever had. She was very gentle and thorough! Highly recommend!
