Providing world-class dentistry and improving my patients dental function, overall health, and aesthetics is extremely fulfilling, both on a personal and a professional level. Even after practicing dentistry for 33 years, each day continues to be unique because each case and every patient is unique. Practicing in the heart of the melting pot of the world, Ive met and have come to know many people from all corners of the globe and have had cultural exchanges from a unique cross section of New Yorkers, all of whom enrich me personally.
I completed my undergraduate education at Brandeis University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1978. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981 from New York University College of Dentistry. While my formal education is complete, my thirst for knowledge is never ending. I attend numerous forms of continuing education every year and I am always incorporating new and improved advanced dental equipment, materials and techniques to improve patient care and satisfaction.
I work in association with Donated Dental Services, a program for disadvantaged people with dental needs that have neither the financial resources nor public assistance for their dental care. The smiles and grateful responses I receive from these patients are the warmest and most sincere of all, sometimes even accompanied by tears of joy upon completion of their care. These add to some of my fondest memories from my years of practice.
While I may be passionate about my Green Bay Packers and, over the past 33 years of establishing Herald Square Dental & The Denture Center as one of New York Citys premier dental offices, my practice is of great importance to me however, the reality is that I am most passionate about my family. Both my wife, Joan and myself come from very close families and we are the proud parents of three grown young men, James, Joshua, and Lucas, and our wonderful dog, Riggs. Although little league baseball, recreation league basketball, Jazz band, and forensics has faded into spirited debates about politics and our beloved NY Mets, it is always with love, warmth, and passion. My hobbies of hiking and traveling would be empty if I were not sharing those with the one I am most passionate about, my wife Joanie!

The facility was extremely clean, and the staff there were very pleasant and helpful. My teeth feel so clean. I would definitely recommend.

Dr. Kaminsky and his staff are THE BEST! I've had 2 procedures so far and NO PAIN whatsoever! Also, I love the way he walks you through every step of the way and communicates everything he is doing. I am happy to have found Dr. Kaminsky because I will never go to another dentist again!

Had an issue today and the staff got me in to see the dentist within hours. Stacey was very friendly and professional. Dr Kaminsky was very thorough and understanding. He helped me with my dental "emergency". Front desk staff were super sweet and I sincerely thank everyone for getting me in on such short notice!

This was the best experience I've ever had at the dentist! I'm terrified of the dentist and having my teeth cleaned, but DM was the gentlest and kindest person I could've asked for. She took her time and talked me through everything she was doing. Dr. K was also phenomenal and walked me through my x-rays. I've never felt more cared for and left the dentist feeling happy.

Got my dental cleaning the other day and have to say how friendly and great the staff is over in Middle Island. Elvinson in particular was incredibly great - answered all my questions and made me laugh too! Had a great time and sad I'm moving away from this location. Luckily there is another nearby...

Dr. Kaminsky is super relaxed and nice. He could tell I was nervous and was asking me throughout my procedure if I was doing alright and made sure it was a comfortable environment. I haven't been to the dentist in about 8 years and I was so nervous. But I'm glad I made the choice to choose this dentist office. And all the staff is so friendly and just gives off good energy, from the assistants to the receptionists in the front. I'm not sure the name of the one that helps out at the end in the front but she's helped me both times at the end of my procedure to set up my next appointments and I love her energy!!!

Just finished a most pleasant visit with a filling in my front teeth, usually very painful for me. But this dentist had convinced me to try Novocain, and I listened. That is why this was a pleasure, another readon I just love The Smiljist Dentist

EVERYONE in the office is knowledgeable, as nice as can be, patient and kind. I have never had such a painless dental visit. I went 2 days in a row and I'm actually looking forward to my last cavity being filled!

I had an excellent experience today at The Smilist in Middle Island, NY. I went in for a dental cleaning, x-rays and check-up. Everything went smoothly and was covered by my health insurance. Elvinson, in particular, was outstanding. He explained everything and was very patient with me. Dr. Kaminsky was very professional and courteous as well. I was given a demonstration on how to brush properly and avoid some of the mistakes I've been making in recent years, which I really appreciated. I got a new toothbrush kit too (haha)! Reception was cordial and welcoming from the time I entered until the time I left. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone that can come here. It's definitely worth it :-)

Went to middle island Dr kaminsky is great do nice caring took time he's great and all lady's there and man were very nice also great people Charisse colon was first time I had work but I don't like that there so busy booked that thry say many months many to get a appt for filling and cleaning that I don't like so made appt for filling but got no cleaning appt or else would be very happy
