Providing world-class dentistry and improving my patients dental function, overall health, and aesthetics is extremely fulfilling, both on a personal and a professional level. Even after practicing dentistry for 33 years, each day continues to be unique because each case and every patient is unique. Practicing in the heart of the melting pot of the world, Ive met and have come to know many people from all corners of the globe and have had cultural exchanges from a unique cross section of New Yorkers, all of whom enrich me personally.
I completed my undergraduate education at Brandeis University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1978. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981 from New York University College of Dentistry. While my formal education is complete, my thirst for knowledge is never ending. I attend numerous forms of continuing education every year and I am always incorporating new and improved advanced dental equipment, materials and techniques to improve patient care and satisfaction.
I work in association with Donated Dental Services, a program for disadvantaged people with dental needs that have neither the financial resources nor public assistance for their dental care. The smiles and grateful responses I receive from these patients are the warmest and most sincere of all, sometimes even accompanied by tears of joy upon completion of their care. These add to some of my fondest memories from my years of practice.
While I may be passionate about my Green Bay Packers and, over the past 33 years of establishing Herald Square Dental & The Denture Center as one of New York Citys premier dental offices, my practice is of great importance to me however, the reality is that I am most passionate about my family. Both my wife, Joan and myself come from very close families and we are the proud parents of three grown young men, James, Joshua, and Lucas, and our wonderful dog, Riggs. Although little league baseball, recreation league basketball, Jazz band, and forensics has faded into spirited debates about politics and our beloved NY Mets, it is always with love, warmth, and passion. My hobbies of hiking and traveling would be empty if I were not sharing those with the one I am most passionate about, my wife Joanie!

This place is Amazing!!!! The kids and I enjoyed every minute being here (yes the kids loved it). Dr. Zubairi, Cathy, and Dawn were nothing short of great. They explained everything to the kids, were so patient and made everything so enjoyable that they can't wait to come back for their next visit. Their whole staff was extremely welcoming. Thank you again and all three of us are looking forward to our next visit!

Dr Garson is the very best together with the entire staff. They are exemplary, very friendly, professional and always genuine in their care for each patient and their needs. I can't say enough about Dr Garson, he takes the time to know each patient personally, is very thorough, caring and discusses all options for the best plan of care. I am only giving the Smilist 3 stars out of respect for their old owners and great dental hygienists, but if your looking for a dentist with a reliable billing office look elsewhere. My entire family has been going to this office for over ten years and had never once had an insurance issue. Procedure prices were clearly communicated, and (luckily) we had good insurance that typically covered 80-100% of the cost consistently. Since new ownership, my family has spent over a year back and forth with our insurance companies and the Smilist billing office over minor procedures (cavities) that they keep trying to charge us for, all while our insurance companies claim that they have been covered. I actually switched dentists because of the issue after finally resolving it, and now a year later, my sister is dealing with the SAME thing all over again. For a family that has been going to this office for this long, it is mind blowing that they can't put in a little extra effort to ensure clear communication with their patients and their insurance companies. My entire family will not be returning as a result, and it is so unfortunate.

Great crew with lots of experience. I love this place & the staff members literally. I live almost 45 minutes away. I've tried multiple different places in a matter of 6 years throughput NJ & Pa, The Smilist Dental has been and by far the best in every way. I got the best teeth clean I ever got ever in all my years going to the dentist! they seem like they truly care and take your oral health and teeth very seriously, extremely polite and welcoming , I'm recommending them to everyone I know! if your thinking about making an appointment , do it ! you wont regret it . I highly recommend The Smilist Dental of Marlboro. Such professionalism and extremely friendly staff. Dawn you are the best hygienist. Couldn't believe how she understood every word I said while she had her instruments in my mouth. No waiting and lovely staff. Thank you and see you in 2023.

Highly recommend the Smilist Dental Group Dr Judd Garson is wonderful! He is so compassionate and professional who treated my dad as if he was treating his own dad. Needed gum surgery and Handled it with such heart and professionalism . The staff are very Friendly and accommodating. Dr Zugiari is also wonderful. 5 stars

My first time here and to a dentist in over 15 years easily. They took me in on short notice as I was in pain. the staff was very Professional ,personable and courteous from the front desk to the chair..My costs and treatment were outlined upfront .Dr Garson performed the procedure with absolutely no pain or discomfort to me.I will return for further care as needed.
