Providing world-class dentistry and improving my patients dental function, overall health, and aesthetics is extremely fulfilling, both on a personal and a professional level. Even after practicing dentistry for 33 years, each day continues to be unique because each case and every patient is unique. Practicing in the heart of the melting pot of the world, Ive met and have come to know many people from all corners of the globe and have had cultural exchanges from a unique cross section of New Yorkers, all of whom enrich me personally.
I completed my undergraduate education at Brandeis University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1978. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981 from New York University College of Dentistry. While my formal education is complete, my thirst for knowledge is never ending. I attend numerous forms of continuing education every year and I am always incorporating new and improved advanced dental equipment, materials and techniques to improve patient care and satisfaction.
I work in association with Donated Dental Services, a program for disadvantaged people with dental needs that have neither the financial resources nor public assistance for their dental care. The smiles and grateful responses I receive from these patients are the warmest and most sincere of all, sometimes even accompanied by tears of joy upon completion of their care. These add to some of my fondest memories from my years of practice.
While I may be passionate about my Green Bay Packers and, over the past 33 years of establishing Herald Square Dental & The Denture Center as one of New York Citys premier dental offices, my practice is of great importance to me however, the reality is that I am most passionate about my family. Both my wife, Joan and myself come from very close families and we are the proud parents of three grown young men, James, Joshua, and Lucas, and our wonderful dog, Riggs. Although little league baseball, recreation league basketball, Jazz band, and forensics has faded into spirited debates about politics and our beloved NY Mets, it is always with love, warmth, and passion. My hobbies of hiking and traveling would be empty if I were not sharing those with the one I am most passionate about, my wife Joanie!

Dr. Goldfarb and the team were so welcoming. They made me comfortable and at ease. They explained things and helped me on a path to better dental hygiene. I've never felt so comfortable and at ease with a dental team the way I did today at The Smilist. Highly, highly recommend.

I had an injury in which 3 teeth needed repairing. My two top front and one bottom. I made the appointment online. The entire experience was positive. The office staff, hygienist, and Dr. Arnoldt was absolutely awesome. Dr. Arnoldt did an incredible job to my teeth! She gave me my confidences back! I will be forever grateful to her and the entire staff at the Commack office! Much Love

I have nothing but good things to say about the Commack office. From my first visit to my last, and there were many I was treated professionally by every staff member along the way. From Maria the receptionist (all are nice) to Joanna the Hygienist, and Dr Arnold and her assistants. All made me feel at home and explained any and all procedures for that day. I now have a home for all of my dental needs in the future. I fully recommend this office and Dr Arnold.

Great first time experience, receptionist is so pleasant she wouldn't get upset no matter how much I bugged her lol lol. Entire staff are professional, caring, and helpful. Answering all my questions and making sure if I had anymore questions for clarity. Received a DEEP CLEANING which I was in desperate need of, and she was as gentle as a babies touch, (after I was numb LOL). Clean , super dooper friendly, and appointments are on point, no real wait time. So don't be late and ruin the perfect time schedule LOL. Definitely recommend the Commack branch.

My first appointment in a new town. I'm beyond happy with my decision to go with The Smilist. Fast, efficient, extremely friendly, from the front staff to Carol the incredible hygienist!! Update: Well... the first appt went great then second I kept seeing different dentists, never the same and they had no idea what I was being seen for since you get passed around like cattle to various dentists there. I no longer go to this practice because I was frustrated with front desk and lack of care. I've since found a local practice with ONE doctor that is highly responsive, wonderful to deal with and kind and sweet front desk staff. I'm so happy I switched!

I just completed the final stage of a dental procedure which spanned over a few visits, and Dr. Goldfarb and his assistant Ana took exceptional care of me from start to finish of the process. I had very short wait times each visit, and he exhibited patience and compassion with me which I can't thank him enough for. Now, I no longer cringe at the thought of a dental appt, which I never thought I'd say! Thank you, Dr. Goldfarb, Ana and staff!
