A large percentage of our patients have some form of dental insurance and we accept assignment from most companies. Unfortunately dental insurance seldom covers the entire cost of dental treatment and you are responsible for any and all fees not covered by your insurance program. Our Financial Coordinator will work with you to understand your dental insurance and help you file for your benefits, but please remember that understanding the details, including coverage limits are ultimately your responsibility.
As a courtesy to our patients, we try to monitor everyones insurance coverage, Unfortunately with so many new regulations from the numerous insurance companies we deal with this has become a monumental task. Therefore, it is ultimately the patients responsibility to know their insurance coverage and be prepared to pay their balance in full at the time of their visit. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
As a licensed dental office in Albany, NY, The Smile Zone is proud to work with our patients so they can achieve and maintain a beautiful smile and healthier gums and teeth. We take the time with our patients to explain their treatment options and inform them of additional preventative care. We feel this will lead to a more trusting doctor/patient relationship and, for many people, relieve the stress about seeing a dentist. In addition to our general dental services, our doctors take pride in offering sedation dentistry as well as cosmetic dentistry procedures to our patients.

BEST DENTAL PRACTICE EVER!!! I've been going to the Smile Zone since 1986 when Dr. Tramontana was there (retired now). I thought they couldn't get any better but then came Dr. Schumer and his practice - WOW! I can't stress enough how confident I am in their knowledge. I just had my first of two crown appointments (I've had many other crowns, root canals, & fillings here) & Dr. Schumer and his assistant, Aurora, were wonderful!!! If anyone is afraid of the dentist, PLEASE try the Smile Zone. I have never felt pain during a procedure. Every dentist, hygienist, and assistant is so knowledgeable, friendly, calming, and patient. I've been treated by every dentist in the practice & have never been disappointed with their work. A very high importance is placed on cleanliness and sterilization for your safety and health and their equipment is state of the art! Their office staff manager is the best and I've never had an incorrect bill or bad experience - they all go out of their way to help you. They also accept quite a few major dental insurance plans and the office staff is very efficient when dealing with them. I've referred several people to Dr. Schumer's Smile Zone and every single one has thanked me and stayed with them. This is a REAL review from a long time, very happy patient!!!

Best cleaning of my life. During the cleaning I could tell there was more time and attention given to my teeth than I was used to and I was genuinely surprised when I saw my smile in the mirror afterwards. Sure there was still more discoloration than I wished but I genuinely didn't believe my smile could pop like that. I thank myself every time I come that I finally found such an incredible dentist practice.

The dentist I saw was terrific. Her assistant also excellent. The office is clean and runs like a clock. I was hoping that since Albany is on a high transmission rate for Covid and the flu season is upon on us that there would be a mask mandate. . There were 8:people in their narrow waiting room. I was the only person wearing a mask. No way to distance there more then 3 feet.I have mentioned it to the receptionist in the past couple of weeks but got no response.

Every visit is pleasant. The front desk staff is professional. Kelly,my hygienist, is friendly, cleans my teeth perfectly. Dr k Buckley is the best dentist I have had in my 69 years. I have referred my friends and family to this practice because of the positive experiences I have encountered always. Kudos to the entire practice!!

To The Smile Zone Dental Office. A few minutes ago I attempted to write a review and somehow got cut off. So! I am starting again. I have been with this dentist office over two years now. When I first started, I misread their personalities and the Office Atmosphere. I admit was "so" wrong. After returning...I can honestly say! The staff that I have come in contact with...plus the ones I pass when going to my dental chair appear warm and pleasant. Bethany is my hygienist that I started with and I would more than highly recommend her. I was just in there on 4/19/22... and again in between my dental cleaning!! Bethany and I talked about farm life...just an all around pleasant person. She assured me in feeling comfortable about removing my mask. Wow! Please! Do not judge people before getting to know them first...is what I did with this dental office. The doctor who came in afterwards too was kind and pleasant. Our family has been going to Smile Zone for just over 5 years, which includes our 7 yo and 2 yo. They have been wonderful in helping me deal with high dental anxiety, and have not once made me feel embarrassed over it. The only issue I've ever really had was their front desk. There has always been one person that I dread having to deal with. However, they seem to have recently changed their front desk personnel and th newer folks are very pleasant and comfortable to work with.
