Dr. Ellis completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at Utah State University in architecture and engineering, then joined the Air Force as an active duty officer and served as an environmental health engineer in California and Texas. While this may not be the typical path to dental school, the combination of art and structural science turned out to be a fantastic background for creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Ellis attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, he completed a one-year residency in the Idaho Advanced General Dentistry Program at Idaho State University. His goal as a dentist is to provide patients with affordable, high-quality care and an overall pleasant experience, which is why he attends two to three times the number of required continuing education courses. Dr. Ellis is a member of the following organizations:
As a young man, Dr. Ellis served an LDS mission in Micronesia in the Truk Lagoon. He has continued to give volunteer service as a dentist, participating in humanitarian dental projects in Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Micronesia. He is also an annual volunteer of the Smiles for Life Foundation, which has raised more than 38 million dollars for children since 1998.
In addition to humanitarian projects that give back, Dr. Ellis has also developed a passion for health. He views oral health as an important piece of overall health. This passion has led him to complete two full Ironman triathlons and over 20 marathons (including five Boston Marathons!) to date. But his kids will tell you that makes him sound way cooler than he really is.
Chad and his wife, Lynette, have six children: Austin, Clayton, Hannah, Matthew, Kendall and Adam. They reside in Pleasant Grove. Most of his free time is spent with his family while participating in all sports, landscaping, scouting, scuba diving and traveling.

I am so grateful for Dr. Ellis and his whole team at The Smile Studio. I recently got veneers on my top front four teeth and was super nervous about it but they were so generous in answering all of my questions/concerns along the way, and clearly explained each phase. Every appointment was simply relaxing and Dr. Chad Ellis is a master/artist in his work, I have nothing but positive things to say about The Smile Studio and Dr. Chad Ellis!

THE SMILE OF MY DREAMS! I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Ellis and the entire staff at The Smile Studio. Dr. Ellis provided me with the best information and overview during my virtual consultation. He spent the time to make sure I was comfortable with the veneer process. During all my appointments, the staff was consistent with communication, quick to respond to my questions, and always made me feel so beyond taken care of. Truly, by the end of my veneers being place I felt like they were my friends! I chose going to Dr. Ellis because he is knowledgable, experienced and caring. He ensured that every measure was taken so that my experience was perfect; Even to the point of checking in with me after my appointment to make sure I was doing okay. He is honestly best dentist in the WORLD. My veneers are so natural, the perfect shape and simply enhanced my natural smile. I never get questions on 'who did my teeth' - people just compliment me and tell me how beautiful my smile is. That is all thanks to Dr. Ellis. The smile studio has always taken great care of me and my whole family. They did my implant & crown 3 years ago and I'm still doing great - haven't had any complications. All the staff is wonderful and very friendly. I don't have dental insurance, and I've never felt like their pricing has been unreasonable. Love love love this place! I've always been afraid of the dentist - I've had a long history that includes many dental operations and procedures, and a number of poor experiences. However, I've never had a bad experience with Dr. Ellis or any of his team. He is very interested in creating the best smile possible, and promoting good health and habits. He's very detail oriented (courtesy of his architecture and engineering background, likely). He's very careful, which is a great quality for someone to have who works with sharp and pointy tools in your mouth. He and his team also have an impressive record for volunteering their time and talents on service projects to third-world countries. Kellie, one of his team members, is fantastic. She goes above and beyond to ensure patient comfort, sympathize with any discomfort (a quality surprisingly lacking in many dental experts), and has a smile and demeanor that could calm down even the most nervous patient. Hollie, at the front desk, is very friendly and always takes an interest in how you're doing. She's also very patient when you take a while to confirm your upcoming appointment... All-in-all, Dr. Ellis and his team provide fantastic dental care, and have given me the best experience that I've ever had with 'the dentist'. I highly recommend them. Plus, the view out of the windows is amazing.

SMILE STUDIO IS THE BEST. i'm so glad i was referred by my friend to get my wisdom teeth out here. they got me in so fast and were so understanding and caring with all my tooth pains before my wisdom teeth surgery. kenzie was literally the best and made me feel so comfortable especially because i hate needles and honestly the dentist in general. i didn't have any problems after or during the surgery. they made this experience so great. i cannot wait to go back for cleanings and checkups.

Folks at the Smile Studio are more than my dentist, dental assistants and hygienists -- they are my friends! I found them in my search for sedation dentistry several years ago, and they have BEEN my friends ever since. The Smile Studio folks always DO greet me with a smile, and they take great care of MINE.
