Dr. Caresa Doakes is a Kansas City, Missouri native. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology, Cum Laude, from the University of Missouri St. Louis. After working for two years as a scientist in the biotechnology industry, Dr. Doakes decided to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist.

Dr. Doakes attended the University Of Missouri Kansas City School Of Dentistry, earning her DDS in 2014. Upon graduation, she received The Quintessence Award for Restorative Dentistry and The John R. Killip Leadership Award. Not only is Dr. Doakes a diplomat of the International Dental Implant Association, but she is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association, The American Orthodontic Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists. Dr. Doakes has obtained advanced training with continuing education courses that include Implant Seminars, Gerety Orthodontic Seminars, FastBraces and Invisalign. As a lifetime learner, she is currently in pursuit of an advanced dental degree at USC in the subjects of Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine.

Following her belief in giving back to those in need, Dr. Doakes has participated in missionary trips providing dentistry for those who would otherwise not receive the care. She also devotes a portion of her dental practice to low income families. She is passionate about changing lives by giving beautiful smiles. She loves spending time with her husband, son, and nephew. Her hobbies include dancing, drawing, and playing the cello.

Dr. Afreena Khan is new to The Smile Salon family and we are very happy to have her. She obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees; one in Biology and the other in African Languages and Literature at The University of Wisconsin, Madison. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Marquette University. In 2018 she moved to Kansas City and went on to do an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UMKC School of Dentistry.

Dr. Khan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a certified Invisalign provider. Dr. Khan is married and has a daughter that keeps her very busy. In her very limited free time, she enjoys cooking, spinning, and taking boot camp classes. Dr. Khan strives to provide excellent dental care in a welcoming and comforting environment. She will create an individualized treatment plan specific to your needs. She has a passion for helping you reach your optimal dental health and dream smile.

Kelle Brewster is a Southern California native. She attended Panola College, and then went on to attend dental hygiene school at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. She received her Associates of Applied Science degree Magna Cum Laude.

Kelle joined the Smile Salon Team in 2002, and has loved working with the patients here ever since. She feels like our patients are part of one big dental family, as she has seen many of the patients, and their families long-term throughout her career. Kelle is passionate about educating patients, providing excellent and consistent care, alleviating dental fear, and helping patients maintain oral health. Treating gum disease is a highlight for her, and one of the most rewarding aspects of her daily practice.

Outiside of work, Kelle enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and a large extended family in Kansas City. Faith and Family give Kelle the motivation to give her best in all that she does.

Nina Morales is a third generation Kansas City, Missouri native. After working in the printing industry for nearly a decade she started a new career as a dental assistant in 2012. In 2013, Nina decided to continue her education in the dental field and enrolled in the dental hygiene program at Concorde Career College.

Since graduating as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Nina has been passionate about patient education and servicing her community. She has taken part in volunteer work at a local homeless shelter to provide dental cleanings and also has volunteered with the Team Smile program. Nina enjoys taking part in continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest practices in the dental field.

Out of the office, Nina enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew and their daughter Regina, extended family and friends. Her hobbies include reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting and playing piano.
