Dr. Albaugh grew up in the small town of Meadville, Pennsylvania. He dreamed about being an orthodontist after he had braces at 10 years old. He remembers how embarrassing it was to smile with a large gap between his front teeth, and how much more confident he felt with straight teeth. He also remembers his parents sacrificing the brand new couch they wanted for years so they could pay for his treatment.
Dr. Albaugh appreciates the impact braces can have on a child as well as the strain on a familys finances, so he believes in affordable financing so money never stands in the way of your childs treatment.
Dr. Albaugh graduated from Tufts University in 2008, then completed a one-year general dentistry residency with Lutheran Medical Center at a health center in Boston, Massachusetts. He then worked at multiple private practices for three years and was a clinical instructor at Boston University before starting his orthodontic residency at Roseman University in Henderson, Nevada.
This experience as a general dentist has given Dr. Albaugh a more comprehensive approach when treating his patients. This means he monitors cavities, the health of your gums and teeth, and wisdom teeth. He understands the challenges general dentists face, and will align your teeth for them so you can have the best esthetic result.
To practice orthodontics, Dr. Albaugh spent 12 years in training (four years of college, four years of dental school, one year of the Lutheran Medical Center AEGD program, and three years of orthodontics residency). Out of 100 dental school graduates, on average, only six go on to become orthodontists.
Gone are the days of clunky bands on every tooth and overly tight stainless steel wires. Today's orthodontic treatment is much more comfortable than it used to be. This is because of shape-memory NiTi wires.
With the same technology that NASA uses, NiTi wires exert a continuous force against the teeth to move them in the right direction. This gets rid of the need for wire tightening. This means you spend less time in braces, and the time you do spend is more comfortable.

If I could rate this 10 start I would. Everyone is so nice and Dr.Albaugh is genuine and truly cares about helping his patients. After being pushed on to the next doctor for years I finally found Dr.Albaugh which decided to work on me and I will forever be grateful. If you're looking for an orthodontist look no further. I come to Smile Patio Orthodontics for braces that I have on currently, and every time I come in for appointments, the folks running the place are always very polite and very nice to me! They work very well with your schedule, and they fit appointments in for you based on your schedule. The actual scheduling process for the appointments is really easy and quick too! Their environment helps with the process, as they always have relaxing videos playing on tvs, and they play good music for all ages too! I highly recommend Smile Patio Orthodontics!

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! I came here just to get new set retainers and they blew me out of the water, they helped me correct my teeth, tightened up my smile and now I have a perfect smile. Dr. Albaugh, Bree, Jillian, and the rest of the team here are incredible. My son currently has braces, and loves the staff here. They offer some pretty affordable options, and the they are super flexible with financing and scheduling. Great team all around!

Smile Patio Orthodontics is phenomenal! The staff here goes above and beyond to help you succeed in getting that perfect smile! Their financial plans are very affordable, with convenient monthly payments, and will accept multiple insurance companies! (Especially if you have Tricare). They offer multiple types of braces and liners to choose from! My kids love coming here, their teeth have improved so much in just a short time! The office is clean, modern and so inviting, and being able to say hi to Chewie each time too is a bonus (Smiles little mascot).

I am so happy, I was referred here. Everyone is so nice here and transparent with the whole treatment. Every time I walk in here, I feel like I am part of the smile patio orthodontics family. When I first started my treatment, I told them I was getting married didn't have a date. Three months in to it I gave them the date. Let's just say my treatment was not going to be done by then. Dr. Alba and his team worked with me to set up a plan to get my wedding pictures memorable. Highly recommend this team.

I am super happy with this place!!! Dr. Albaugh is caring and friendly taking his time to go over the treatment plan with you. His staff follows suit, always with a smile and a friendly attitude they put everyone at ease. Andres was a great assistant helping me with the placing of my brand new brackets and answering any questions I had.
