A self-proclaimed architect of the smile, Dr. Idriss considers it her personal mission to customize smiles. Having performed complete smile makeovers on thousands of patients over the years, Dr. Idriss recognizes the importance of employing a critical eye for beauty throughout each step of the transformation process starting the moment they enter the luxuriously appointed, Venetian-style dental office. Her thinking style is very mechanical and meticulous, while her demeanor is respectful and gentle. This combination ensures that she is attentive to the needs and wants of her patients in every possible way.
Barbara is our Hygienist (RDH) and has been with Dr. Idriss for over 20 years. She is a licensed hygienist in the state of Texas, graduated from Midwestern State University in 1987. During her college years, she was part of the Gama Phi beta Sorority. She has been in practice for 35 years. Our patients love Barbara as she has been with the practice for a very long time. She is extremely patient, kind and attentive to their needs. She loves to talk, educate and make the patient comfortable during their visit.
She moved from Dallas to Houston in 1991 after marrying her husband. She has 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy. She also has a dog ( Bentley) and several cats. On her days off she loves to cook and spend time with her family. She loves to cook and experiment with different cuisines.
Cheryl is our Office Manager and Patient Coordinator (RDA). She has been with the team since 2011. She is also a graduated dentist from her birth country, India. She graduated from Vinayaka Missions University as a Dentist in 2008. She moved to Houston in 2009 with her parents and has been a Houstonian ever since. She is married to her husband of over 11 years and has 1 son. She came to our practice in 2011, started as Dr. Idriss restorative and surgical assistant and then in 2017 promoted to the position of Office Manager and Patient Coordinator. When you reach Cheryl, rest assured that all our concerns and questions will be taken care of in a very professional and timely manner. She is extremely knowledgeable of the entire practice daily operations and is the person to reach out if you have any concerns.
On her days off, Cheryl loves to spend her time with her family. She loves to keep herself occupied by involving in home improvement projects, painting, planting, reading etc. She loves goal setting and completing different projects on the weekends. She loves to meal prep and cooks elaborate meals for her family.
Juana is our Surgical Dental assistant( RDA). Juana has been with our practice since 2017. She is also a graduated dentist from Mexico ( Class of 1992). With Juana, our patients always feel like they are in excellent hands. She is extremely thorough with any procedure while assisting Dr.Idriss during all surgical procedures and at the same time compassionate and extremely gentle. She worked in Mexico for over 3 years after graduation and then moved to Houston where she currently resides with her Husband of over 20 years. She has a daughter who is a star softball pitcher and plays for Texas Lutheran University. She also loves animals and has 2 cats (Callie and Cleo) and 1 dog (Cheerio).
During her free time, Juana loves to enjoy the outdoors and go for long walks with her dog. She is passionate about a healthy lifestyle and loves to cook and eat mostly vegetarian dishes. She is a fantastic piano player and loves to play piano on the weekends.
Sandra is our Restorative Dental assistant (RDA). Sandra has been with our team since 2013. She is also a graduated dentist from her birth country, Nicaragua. She graduated from UNAN LEON University as a dentist in 1996. She served her community as a practicing dentist in Nicaragua for 2 years before moving to Houston alongside her husband of over 23 years in 2006. Sandra can be called in our office as the epitome of energy, cheerfulness and laughter. Always ready to help our patients feel comfortable and relaxed in our office. She is the right hand of Dr. Idriss during all restorative procedures. She is also Bi-lingual and loves to talk and entertain.
On her days off, Sandra loves to be around her 4 fur babies (Sam, sassy, Pinky and Snoopy) and take them for long walks. She loves to cook and experiment with different international cuisines. She loves to talk and interact and keeps herself busy catching up with her 11 siblings during the weekend.
Jennifer is our own famous celebrity in the office due to her famous name. She is our Insurance and Patient Coordinator. She is the newest member to our family and an excellent addition to our stellar team. You will always have a friendly voice assisting you when you reach Jennifer who is also bi-lingual. She is a native Houstonian. She graduated from Westfield High school. She has been married for over 19 years and has a son and a granddaughter. She also has a fur baby/puppy (Nala).

The best dental experience I've had!! The staff is friendly, caring, knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Idriss must be one of a kind, her attention to detail and work are impeccable. Everyone works so well together, as much of the staff have been there many years. I could not be happier with my overall results and I would highly recommend The Smile Designer to anyone, and I have.

I was in Houston for a funeral when my partials were accidentally thrown in the trash. I contacted the office and they replaced my partials in less than 24 hours. After a day of wearing them, I realized I needed some adjustments and the office staff quickly accommodated me until everything was perfect and I could return home which was two states away. I can't thank Dr. Iris and her staff for the professionalism they exhibited.

Nope, nope & NOPE! Had work done by her & her Staff years ago. She made me promises she did not keep. Called her after work was done...no reply. Called office for help. Nothing. Called again. Wanted to charge me DOUBLE. They are all about money & not so much after-care or patient' needs.

This is a very special dental office! Everyone here - front desk, hygienist, dentist - is kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. They want you to feel comfortable and at ease. I have had regular cleanings and a deep cleaning here (I think it's called scaling)... Most importantly, they give you so much advice and guidance for home dental care. I would recommend this dental office for everyone!

Very professional and compassionate employees and dentist! Their office was very clean and very beautiful! They were very attentive to COVID Restrictions and I felt very comfortable in their office.
