Dr. Daniel Kim is focused on providing comprehensive patient care involving detailed oral diagnosis and treatment planning. He was born and raised in the Bay Area and received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Looking for a change from the Bay Area, he journeyed to Philadelphia and received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kim dedicates his professional career to providing you and your family with the best that modern dentistry has to offer. Dr. Kim is continually educating himself and his staff on the newest dental techniques and approaches in order to provide you with state-of-the-art, comfortable, and personalized dental care. When he is not in the office, Dr. Kim enjoys playing golf, tennis, and cycling. He gives back to the community by educating youth as a mentor for the Tiger Woods Foundation. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Francisco Dental Society.
Even after 40 years of practicing dentistry, I am still always appreciative and honored that new patients have placed their confidence in my ability to treat them. I understand the anxiety and fear that many patients go through to get dental procedures done.
More than perhaps any other profession, the relationship between a patient and his or her dentist is immediately quite intimate and demands a great deal of trust. It also requires sensitivity, caring, respect, and a gentle manner from the treating professional. Each patient is unique in his or her personality and dental problems. It is always important to talk to and treat each patient as an individual to ensure people leave as satisfied and happy patients. All of this is something I never forget and definitely never take for granted.
I was fortunate to have grown up in a family where my father was an orthodontist. This gave me a unique insight into what it would be like to practice dentistry as a profession. Dentistry not only allows me to meet new people all the time, it actually allows me to help people many times a day. I even truly get to say that I look upon a great number of my patients as real friends. I am so grateful for this and can only thank my profession for having made it possible.
Continuing education courses are the most effective way I have of remaining at the cutting edge of dentistry and able to provide my patients with the latest and best techniques available. It also keeps me energized and excited about the future of the dental profession.
A native of Rochester, NY, I have been fortunate to call beautiful, friendly San Francisco, CA my home for the last 35 years. In my spare time, I routinely go to the gym, play tennis, or ski. Staying healthy is a big part of my life. My world has also been greatly enriched by travel and exposure to new cultures. I speak four languages, which enables me to interact freely and on a more intimate basis with different cultures when I travel.

Everyone in the office is so friendly. I have been going to the Smile Center for 30 years and Dr. Debbane and his staff have always taken good care of my teeth. Now I am seeing Dr. Kim who has taken over the office as Dr. Debbane retired. Dr. Kim is wonderful and uses the latest technologies. I have full confidence in him and his staff. Going to the Smile Center makes me smile!

The Smile Center has been taking great care of my pearly whites for over 15 years! This last recent visit was great' Reception is super friendly, informative and up front about billing questions. The lady that did my deep cleaning was patient with my nervousness, checked in on me regularly, was thorough, quick, and friendly through the whole process. Highly recommend them as a great and reasonably priced dentistry office.

I came somehow worry, afraid; but I try to come down and relax my body. The procedure went fine. Next I was thinking about the pain I would feel after anesthesia was gone; didn't have to take pain medication .. I just had minimal pain.

Great service, and very efficient. Great staff always friendly. Along with regular checkups, did Invisalign here and it was less work than I thought it would be. Results were very good.
