No matter how far afield Dr. John Miller has gone for his extensive dental training, his heart has always remained in South Carolina! So that is where he established his two dental offices: in Georgetown and Murrells Inlet.
Born in Georgetown, Dr. Miller attended local schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He then earned a bachelors degree in biology from Francis Marion College and attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. After completing his doctorate in dental medicine (DMD) in 1988, Dr. Miller started his practice in Georgetown. With the growth of his practice, he opened a second location in Murrells Inlet in 2008.
Dr. Millers postdoctoral training includes many different areas of dentistry, such as dental implant surgery, Invisalign orthodontics, laser surgery, conscious sedation, and cosmetics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Pee Dee District Dental Society.
Dr. Miller lives near Georgetown with his wife, Kristi, a family nurse practitioner, and their three sons. The entire family enjoys the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. Dr. Miller served as Scoutmaster for the Pawleys Island Boy Scouts. His two oldest sons are Eagle Scouts, and the youngest is working on his requirements for Eagle.

No one enjoys having to go to the dentist, myself included. Each time I have gone to The Smile Center to have anything more than cleaning my teeth done, I get anxious and nervous even though I know the staff and Dr Miller do everything possible to make the visit pain-free to me. The ladies are kind and attentive and Dr Miller explains what he is going to be doing and gets the job done in a quick manner. After everything is done I realize I was having those feelings for nothing. I have seen several friends and neighbors to The Smile Centervand assure them it will be painless for them...and it always is! The Smile Center will be my dental facility as long as I have teeth! Thank you to the entire staff there. They try to make an unpleasant experience into something nice and they have always succeeded with me.

I cannot say enough positive words to describe my experience at The Smile Center. First, Crystal at the reception desk, welcomes every one who enters the door with a big happy greeting. The hygienist is so professional and puts you at ease immediately. She is friendly and takes her time to ensure the x-rays are done clearly. She explains what she is doing and any concerns she sees with the x-rays. Dr. Miller is so very professional and puts my mind to rest. Needless to say I'm not the bravest patient to deal with but both made my visit enjoyable. Not many people would say going to the dentist is enjoyable but I for one enjoyed my dentist visit. Sandy who finished the paperwork was very helpful and even offered to follow up with my dental insurance provider. Crystal is an asset, along with everyone else. I will recommend everyone to go the see Dr Miller.

We have been going to Dr. Miller and Inlet Smiles for the better part of 15 years now. All I have is great things to say about him and his staff. He's there for you if you have a chip tooth he's there for you when you did your teeth cleaned and he's there for you if you need a crown. Very eager to be there for his Patients. Also Dr. Miller has a great bedside manner and a great laugh. Always very comfortable in the office. Five stars!

I recently moved to South Carolina and after only 1 week here, I broke my front tooth. Not knowing anyone to ask for a dentist referral, I googled to find a well rated dentist. I came upon Dr Miller at the Smile Center, and could not be happier with the great experience I have had there. After breaking my tooth, I called and spoke to Crystal, who was so kind and reassuring. She got me in that afternoon as an emergency. I got lost driving there, called Crystal, and she was so nice and directed me to the office. I've been to the office a few times after my initial visit, and everyone, from the front desk people to the dental assistants, and especially to Dr Miller, could not have been nicer. The office itself is beautiful, very well run, professional, and they offer both painless anesthetic injections (and they really are painless), as well as laughing gas. Dr Miller said the laughing gas makes you feel like you just don't care about what was happening. I did use it for my root canal, and that's exactly how you feel. So overall, I feel very lucky to have found this office. They were all so nice from the beginning when they gave me, who was brand new to them, an emergency appointment. The office and people there are top notch. Thank you Dr Miller!!

I just want to say thank you to each and every worker including the dentist in the smile center for taking the time to not only explain everything that is needed to take care of my issues but to make me feel like a person instead of a meal ticket like other dentist office in the past has made me feel so again thank you so much for truly caring about each and every patient that you all have and for making them feel like you made me feel the day that I came in

I needed to see a dentist for emergency situation. My friend had recommended Dr. John Miller at the Smile Center. I called and the receptionist, Crystal was so professional and customer driven in how she handled my crisis. She did everything in a timely manner. Dr. Miller was so kind to get me into his office today. I've never been so happy and satisfied with my experience dealing with the office team (Crystal) and most grateful to Dr. Miller. I have decided to switch to him for all my dental needs. Not only did Dr. Miller and his staff impressed me, Dr Miller has also made my wife want him to be her dentist. I can not express my gratitude to Dr. Miller and his staff. Dr. Miller is awesome.
