Born and bred in Iran, Dr. Shawn (Shabnam) Salehezadeh and her family emigrated to the U.S. when she was 10 years old. She began her American life in a small town in Texas, and it is with warm Texan pride that Dr. S speaks of her Texan life, the way she was quickly welcomed among the locals, and the way she was encouraged to learn proficient English in a very short time. A decade and a half after her life-changing immigration, Dr. S ended the most memorable era of her student life (woohoo, dental school!), completing a full circle path by becoming the very same thing that she grew up despising: a dentist!
You see, Dr. Salehezadeh is your typical antidentite: she spent her childhood and early adulthood going in and out of dental offices, receiving unpleasant and uncomfortable dental treatment, never feeling like she knew what was going on in her own mouth. She never imagined that she would become a dentist herself!
Dr. Salehezadeh received her Doctorate at University of Texas in 2003. She then completed an additional year of AEGD training at the prestigious California University of the Pacific. Having experienced living on the West Coast for a year, Dr. S then decided to experience living on the East Coast for a year as well, she moved to NYC. Turns out that this move in 2004 was another life-changing one as Dr. S has been a New York City transplant ever since!
After marrying another NYC transplant (him, also with a difficult last name, by way of Poland), Dr. Salehezadeh has been residing and growing her family in Long Island City since 2015. She and her husband have two daughters: a kindergartener and a feisty 2-year-old toddler. Dr. S loves being involved with her daughter 's P.S. 384, the Court Square Civics Association, and all activities in the neighborhood. She thoroughly enjoys the sense of community and 'small-town feels' that she and her family have developed in LIC over the last few years.
And the newest baby solidifying Dr. Salehezadehs roots as a New Yorker/LICer: The QPD, born mid-pandemic in 2020! With the opening of The QPD, Dr. S now proudly gets to treat some of her favorite friends and neighbors. The 'small-town feels' that Dr. S enjoys so much within Long Island City has been extended amongst the patients that she runs into within the neighborhood.

This place actually makes me ENJOY going to the dentist. They make it so comfy, with a TV on the ceiling and they have very patient employees and attentive pre, post and follow up care. I always leave happy (even when I have to get a cavity filled BOO) because I can feel and see that they do good work. Can't recommend them enough

Dr. S and the QPD team are by far the most incredible dental group I've ever been to! They are the absolute epitome of patient care and have gone above and beyond to deliver amazing results! I came to them for a last minute consultation to discuss cosmetic options to help close a gap between my front teeth and for whitening. I was getting married in a month and only had a short, 3 week period to work with (very poor time management on my part!). Not only did Dr. S move mountains to fit me into her packed schedule, but she and her team put in countless hours to provide exceptional results and unwavering support throughout the entire process! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your hard work, kindness, and dedication. There is no one I'd trust more with my smile and I will absolutely be returning for all my future dental care!

The QPD is the best dentist I've ever visited and the first time I've had a dentist that I'm not terrified to go to. The staff is super warm and welcoming, but special shout out to Chynna who is an absolute rockstar and has helped me so much over the past few months. If you live in LIC, or nearby, and need a dentist, I can't recommend QPD enough!

I have had a good experience with Dr. S. Nice staff and I recently had to get a filling, which I hate, but didn't feel a thing! Smoothest tooth filling experience I have ever had. I live on the UWS but I make the trek to Queens for Dr. S. Worth it.

Have never had such a great experience at a dentist before. The space itself is new, clean, and comfortable. All staff are equally welcoming! I really appreciated the doctors' education and transparency when speaking to me during my consultations/visits. As someone who hasn't gone to the dentist nearly as often as I should and hasn't had the best experiences in the past, the thoughtful explanations and honest recommendations really encourage me to keep up my dental health.

Dr. Salehezadeh and the rest of the staff are amazing! Highly recommend this dentist. The office is super clean and technologically up-to-date. Also, they are very prompt with their appointments. You never have to wait. Glad I found this dentist. I used to absolutely hate going to the dentist and now I don't mind at all! =-)

I feel like it's fate that I found QPD! As a lifelong Seinfeld fan, I was hooked right away by Dr. S herself identifying as a former anti-dentite. Everyone in the office is so sweet and welcoming, it feels like I've been going there for years from my first visit. I had several fillings that were 100% pain-free and discomfort free (a first for me), and they followed up by text to make sure I had no issues the next day. I also saved $100 on a mouth guard after receiving a higher quote from a different LIC dentist, and the process to get it made took less than 2 weeks! I'm so relieved to have found a dentist I actually love! Highly recommend!

Found my new favorite dentist office!! I have gone to the qpd twice now for cleanings and both times I have been blown away by the hospitality and cleanliness. The front desk is so friendly and patient, and the hygienist is always extremely thorough in her work. The dentist is careful and extremely well knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place!

Decided to go here after reading the reviews and wonder if some of them are manipulated. For $295 out of pocket got x rays and cleaning, and a condescending dentist referred by staff as Dr. S. After a lecture about my hygiene habits, she abruptly leaves and the hygienist shows me the way to checkout. I thought dentists were there to help, not be passive aggressive. Started to ask her questions about my teeth and she was clearly annoyed. (But I paid for this consultation) Got the 'goodie' bag which had all of these sayings, but they definitely do not practice compassion or most importantly professionalism for their paying customer. Hypocrisy at the end of the day. Why would I trust someone with my teeth afterwards? I hope others will speak out if they have a bad experience because these are very hard times and we have to look out for each other. I thought I was investing in my health but got judged and scammed in the end. Also after my cleaning, there seems to be a pain that hasnt gone away in a month. I went in pain free.

We have been going to Dr. Salehezadeh for over 10 years. She is absolutely fantastic. She's a fun, energetic, hard working professional and does a great job keeping our smiles perfect. We had been seeing her in Manhattan but her new location in LIC is even better. The new office makes it seem like you are at a spa instead of the dentist. The design is really chic, there are TVs over the MASSAGING dentist chair so you can be distracted while she does her work, and to top it off, they have the best dental hygienist. Take the train to LIC and go see her.

I found The QPD through a local neighborhood listing, and I'm totally going to keep coming back! The office is super nice and the entire team, Scott, Chynna, and Dr. Salehezadeh made me feel truly well cared for. They explained every step and option (with prices!) and never forced me to make a decision or choose anything without my full understanding.

What a positive experience! I was nervous, because I haven't been to the dentist in a few years - but the QPD team was gentle, kind, and took the time to educate me on what they were doing. The office is very clean and beautiful, which made the visit very pleasant. So happy they're in the neighborhood!

Went in for a teeth cleaning last week. Teeth cleaning was gentle and office was clean/modern. Staff was awesome and Dr. S was very nice and attentive, plus answered all my questions thoroughly.
