Dr. Gene M. Ranieri received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loyola University in 1975. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He returned to Loyola University for his Specialty Residency in Periodontics, which he completed in 1979. Dr. Ranieri has been in the Private Specialty Practice since that time and over thirty years in Northwest Indiana.
Dr. Gene Ranieri has served Dentistry in many capacities. He is thepast President of Northwest Indiana Dental Society. He continues to servethatsociety for the pastthirty years as a member of The Board of Directors, Delegate to Indiana Dental Society, and Founder of Northwest Indiana Foundation for Dental Education. Dr. Ranieri is a member of the American Dental Association where he served as a National delegate for NW Indiana, American Academy of Periodontology, Indiana Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Midwest Society of Periodontics. He has been inducted into The American College of Dentists and International College of Dentistry.
Dr. Ranieriis extensively involved in Dental Education. He has been a professor at Loyola University School of Dentistry, University of Oregon Health Science Center, Indiana University Northwest, and currently Adjunct Professor at Indiana School of Dentistry, where he has lectured in the Doctorate and Post-Doctorate Programs for the last fifteen years. Locally he is the Founder and Director of Dental Study Club of Northwest Indiana. This Club provides ongoing continuing education for its 50 members. He also directs two Affiliate Study Clubs which provides continuing Education for New Dental Graduates and over one hundred Dental Hygienist in Northwest Indiana.
Dr. Basel Hajjar received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry 1998. He completed advanced education in General Dentistry at Columbia University, in New York. In 2005, Dr. Hajjar completed a Residency in Periodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry and The Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Hajjar researched Implant bone types in Human Mandible at Indiana University from 2002-2005 and earned his Master Degree in Dental Science. He is on staff at Methodist Hospitals, Southlake and Northlake Campuses. Dr. Hajjar is an Assistant Professor for IUNW. He is Diplomat of The American Board of Periodontology. Heis alsoa member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, The Indiana Dental Society, and The Northwest Indiana Dental Society. He is licensed to practice dentistry in Indiana and Illinois.

I found my experience with The Periodontal Group to be expectional. I had to have the roots of a molar that broke off removed. The shots were easy and tooth removal quick. It went as good as possible for me.

I was there to see Dr. Hajar for a dental implant but needed a graft instead for this visit. All the staff members were very nice and easy to work with.Everything was explained to me in detail and the procedure was not painful with some tenderness and minimal swelling that resolved the next day. They also made sure I had everything I needed after the procedure. The part I really liked is that Dr. Hajar called me to see how I was doing the next day and as a nurse I know how important it is that the patient knows that you care about them and how they are doing. I had a great experience. Thanks for everything you all are amazing

Simply put, Dr. Hajjar is a brilliant periodontist that consistently goes above and beyond to provide the best possible solution(s) and care to all of his patients! My dad came in with an extremely difficult dental case and Dr. Hajjar gave him his smile back. While his high standards, commitment to excellence, and genuine concern for others impressed us from the start, his unique expertise gave my dad hope and the best possible outcome. Dr. Hajjar is truly the best there is--he loves his patients, is passionate about his profession, and welcomes even the most difficult cases with a smile.
