To achieve the best possible results during maxillofacial and cosmetic surgery, the team also offers cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and virtual surgical planning. This state-of-the-art technology enables the team to map out the step-by-step process of surgery, helping to speed up the healing and recovery process.
Implant technology has progressed tremendously since I started placing dental implants in 1985. We used to place implant fixtures and bury them for six months believing that this was the only way they would predictably integrate. This long duration of healing frequently became a patient barrier to implant treatment.
In the pursuit of reducing patient treatment time, immediate implant placement at the time of extraction was introduced and proved to be just as predictable as earlier techniques. This was easily offered in single rooted teeth but proved to be more difficult in multi-rooted molars due to the larger socket defect and available implant diameters.
Southern Max Implant SystemWell, we now have a solution. The Southern MAX implant is designed to allow placement in large volume defects typically found in molar extraction sites. As with other immediate implant placements, as long as adequate bone exists at extraction, these implants can be placed. The Southern MAX is specifically designed for maxillary (upper jaw) and mandibular (lower jaw) first and second molar sites. They also help preserve the natural architecture of the site, optimizing the final restoration.
We at The Pacific Coast Center for Oral, Facial and Cosmetic Surgery strive to practice at the leading edge of our specialty. In order to do so, we have added Cone-beam CT technology to our services. This relatively new technology allows us to now obtain in-office high quality 3-dimensional digital images of the jaws, face, and portions of the head with a tenth of the radiation of medical grade CT scanners. In fact, the radiation is generally only slightly more than a typical digital panoramic scan.
These images allow us to accurately locate pathological lesion and mal-positioned teeth, evaluate bony anatomy for dental implant placement, evaluate airway obstructions in the obstructive sleep apnea patient, and better diagnose facial deformities and better plan for their surgical correction. My first procedure was Facetite with Dr. Elias. I was able to do the procedure awake on a Friday & was back to work on Monday! I was still swollen but not in pain at all. It's a minimum invasive procedure to tighten the skin & gets rid of the fat. The staff was really friendly and was able to answer all my questions. I've been back many more times for Botox & fillers. Dr. Elias is such a perfectionist and that is exactly what I'm looking for in a Cosmetic Surgeon!

I happen to think it's important to give people their flowers while they can enjoy them in life. My experience in the procedure room at Pacific Coast Ctr. started out questionable. Had it not been for Diane I'm sure I would have walked out having had a completely different experience. While being prepped for the tooth extraction the IV guy was having trouble finding a vein to use. So, one of the females in the room said try something that did not work. So now we are two or three sticks in with no results. In walks Diane; she asked are they having trouble and I say yes.At that point she took charge. The other two were trying to explain why they were having difficulty when she went into automatic mode. She began to tell them what she was going to do and how she was going to do it. They listened and followed her instructions as she established the IV line. I don't know if it was her confidence, experience, or the way she moved in the room maybe all three things together. In todays age of YouTube, TikTok, etc. where everyone wants a lot of money for doing a little work. I find it refreshing to see someone that it good at their job, takes pride in it, and does it because it's the right thing to do. It's not always the big things that matter it can be something small that has a lingering impression. I know about this being in the emergency medical profession. If I arrive on scene of a drive by shooting where someone's body has multiple bullet wounds and that person looks up at me scared and I tell them I will get them to the hospital alive; I see a calm come over them as I go to work. Diane possesses the same quality, it's a rare quality in this atmosphere she is a jewel, treat her well, she'll be hard to replace. If I ever have to return to Pacific Coast Ctr. For treatment let her know the Starbucks is on me. Lol...

Excellent patient/staff/doctor service. Comprehensive pre-op preparation including speaking to my primary physician; compassionate listening with multiple opportunities offered for me to ask questions of Dr. Stevens and nurses. Day of surgery went smoothly and quickly. Anesthesia was given by experienced anesthetist and Dr. Stevens began extracting 4 teeth broken off at the gum line. Post-op was pain free. Post-op instructions given with opportunities to ask questions. Sent home with written instructions and dietary guidelines. Dr. Stevens called me at home later in the day. This is by far the best oral surgery experience I have ever had. I highly recommend this office.

Went in for a tooth extraction and sinus lift to prepare for a dental implant. Excellent service all around. They were able to calm my nerves and made the process so much easier than I thought. Highly recommend.

Dr. Stephens is by far the most patient, knowledgeable and experienced oral surgeons I've ever met. He spent time explaining his approach, surgery process and follow up plan to us for almost an hour. We felt very confident to be taken care of by him.

Dr Stephen's is great. He removed my daughter's wisdom teeth and we had an easy going experience w/no complications. When it was time to have teeth removed for my son's braces we came back to Dr Stephen's. My son did not want to be knocked out for the procedure so the Dr reassured him by explaining the process and the teeth were removed w/o any complaints. We are coming back to Dr Stephen's for a third time now to have my son's wisdom teeth removed and we have confidence that everything will go smoothly again.
