The Missouri Coalition for Oral Health was established in 1999 at the request of the Oral Health Program of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Dental Association. The Coalition researched oral health access as well as disparities facing low-income and/or uninsured Missourians. In 2002 the Coalition published the following list of oral health delivery system recommendations:
The Oral Health Network of Missouri is actively involved in fulfilling all four delivery system recommendations. The Network collaborators are safety net organizations that provide services to people regardless of their ability to pay. Currently, the Oral Health Network consists of all twenty-one Section 330 funded community health centers in the state.
In the spring of 2010, the Oral Health Network of Missouri merged with the Missouri Primary Care Association. The Oral Health Network of Missouri is now a program within the Missouri Primary Care Association. To visit the Primary Care Association's website, go to www.mo-pca.org
