The Leesburg Dentists was originally started in 1986 by Dr. Robert Fuller, a Leesburg native and his wife, Dr. Joy Spencer-Fuller. The office has undergone two expansions and added Dentists with varying skills to provide the best dental care possible to our family of patients.

The mission of The Leesburg Dentists team is to always provide the highest quality of comprehensive dental care and education in a casual, yet professional modern, clean, family-oriented atmosphere. We strive to make every experience in our office a positive one. Ultimately, our goal is to develop lifelong relationship with you and your family in order to maintain optimum oral health through the years.

The Leesburg Dentists takes pride in our experienced, skilled and caring staff. We have always strived to create a pleasant environment for our staff, as well as our patients. Many of our staff have been with us more than 25 years. All have worked hard to stay current so that we can provide the most up to date dental treatments for our patients. We see patients from 3 years of age to 103 years of age. The Leesburg Dentists actually have some families where we have 4 generations as active patients. We welcome you to join our patient family.

Dr. Bob was born and raised in Leesburg, Virginia. He is a true native. After graduating Loudoun County High School, he attended The University of Virginia, where he graduated With Distinction with a degree in Biology. Upon graduating he attended the Dental School at the Medical College Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University where he also graduated with honors. Dr. Bob and his wife Dr. Joy Spencer-Fuller opened their Leesburg dental practice in 1986 immediately after graduation. Dr. Bob has long believed that our bodies are one and all our health's-physical, oral, mental and spiritual are interconnected. Dr. Bob is a father of three grown kids and currently spends his time with their English Cream Retriever, Husker, and their French Bulldog, Pearl. He is a sport fan and spent many years coaching and officiating Girls High School Lacrosse. Through thick and thin he remains a Washington Sports fan. He enjoys going to the gym, practicing yoga, biking and hiking.

Dr. Joy grew up in a Navy family living on both coasts and is a strong patriot. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1982 and from the the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1986. While starting up this dental practice with Dr. Bob, Joy was the director of the Fairfax County Senior Citizen's dental clinic. She was the first woman president of the Loudoun County Dental Society, is a current member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Facial Esthetics. After 35 years Dr. Joy is semi-retired doing patient care two days a week. She has raised two daughters and a son. Now she spends her free time cooking, reading, and staying fit by working out, biking hiking yoga and putting in many steps walking her beloved dogs, Pearl and Husker

Dr. Ashley grew up in West Virginia where she graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S in Biology and a minor in Ballet! After graduation, Dr. Ashley continued her education at WVU School of Dentistry receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Ashley is Invisalign Certified and a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Ashley has a passion for the esthetic aspect of dentistry. Interestingly, Dr. Ashley married into a dental family with her father-in-law and brother-in-law both being dentists. She and her husband stay busy with their 3 kids and golden doodle.

Dr. Karoline is the most recent dentist to join our team. Although a new addition, she is a familiar face to the practice. Dr. Karoline is a lifelong patient, and told us as a 3 year old that she wanted to be a dentist or orthodontist. Karoline spent many of her college summers learning the trade while shadowing her mentor, Dr. Bob. Dr. Karoline received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2014, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S, in Biology. Upon graduation, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2018. She was elected by the faculty at VCU into the National Honor Society: Omicron Kappa Upsilon for her scholastic achievement. Following dental school, Dr. Karoline proceeded to the University of Texas, where she received a 2 year intensive training and certification in Advanced General Dentistry. Dr. Karoline brings a multitude of advanced and diversified skills to the practice including I.V. conscious sedation, implant dentistry, wisdom teeth extractions, bone and tissue grafting, and full mouth rehabilitation among many other skills. Currently she resides in Ashburn, VA with her dog, Zeke and her cat, Hunny Bun. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys cooking, working out, and training in Jiujitsu.

Suzanne grew up in Fairfax, VA, and was a patient of this oce since she was a teenager. Basically, she has been with us since 1987! Suzanne attended Fairfax County Adult Education Center where she received her Dental Assistant Certification. After receiving her certification, Suzanne worked for an orthodontist for a year before joining our oce. She has 23 years experience, with 22 of them being with our team. Currently Suzanne lives in Shenandoah County. We appreciate her dedication and long drive. Previously she raised her two sons in Warren County. She takes advantage of the Valley, as she enjoys drives in her Jeep with the top o along Skyline Drive. When not in the mountains, Suzanne enjoys the beaches of Southern North Carolina.

Maria has been a dental assistant for 23 years. She loves what she does and considers Dentistry a place to grow and learn something everyday. She often tells us she would do it for free, if she could. Maria has been Dr. Bobs assistant for 7 years, and together they make an incredible team. Before moving to Winchester, Virginia and joining the The Leesburg Dentists, Maria lived in Florida, where she trained under Dr. Tim Morris. She attended Indian River Community College where she received her expanded functions and radiology certifications. Recently empty nesters, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband going on walks with their beloved Boston Terrier, Harley.

April has been with our oce since 2008 and is Dr. Lees assistant. It was in 2005 she took a chance and started her journey in the dental field. April attended Shenandoah University where she completed her dental assisting and radiology certifications. It is working with people that April finds most rewarding about dentistry. Helping reduce patients anxiety and being supportive are two skills that April feels she does best. She enjoys trying to make all patients have a positive experience. It is not surprising that April is the cornerstone of her family and enjoys spending her free time with her two children and her two grandsons. While not with family or at work, April enjoys vintage and antique shopping.

Wendy comes to The Leesburg Dentists with eleven years experience as a dental assistant. She joined our team in 2019 becoming Dr. Ashleys primary assistant. Wendy lives in West Virginia and has three children. If you hear singing in the oce, then you hear Wendy at work. Wendy has a passion for music and often sings along with the radio at work. Interestingly, she can cover music from the 70s to the present and anything from Pop to Country.

Zee is originally from Venezuela, where she attended medical school. For the last 15 years Zee has been in the dental field with prior to joining our team, Zee focused her training and work in the surgical aspect of dentistry. Zee joined our team in 2020 and is Dr. Karolines primary assistant. Music is a major passion for Zee as she is also a professional drummer. She enjoys filling in for bands on the weekend who need a drummer. In her remaining spare time, Zee likes to surf, ride motorcycles and most of all ,spend time with her baby poodles, Haven and Grace.

Karin was the very first hygienist hired by the Dr. Fullers. She has been with the practice for over thirty years, helping it grow and computerize. Karin received her B.S in Dental Hygiene from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, WV. Born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Mahwah, NJ, Karin has devoted her decades of dental hygiene experience to building strong relationships with her patients, while also providing the latest quality of dental hygiene care and services. She takes pride in having helped establish this dental practice into one of the regions most family friendly, patient oriented and one that is dedicated to pursuing and deploying the latest technologies and techniques in the dental field. When Karin isnt working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons and multiple grandchildren. Karin loves to travel, garden, knit, read and watch West Virginia and Clemson college football games.

Kim has been with The Leesburg Dentists since 2006. She received her dental hygiene degree from Lord Fairfax Community College in 2002. Kim states Dentistry is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Dentistry is full of surprises. Not too many people grow up wanting to be in someone elses mouth everyday, including herself. Dental Hygiene was an option for her to get her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene, and allow her to financially support her family. Kim went to school full time, while working full time and raising a 2 year old. Kim shares her story not for a pat on the back, but to inspire others. Kim works hard at all she does. Hygiene for Kim has shown her how to be determined, caring, meticulous, hardworking and to realize that dentistry comes with many great surprises. One of those surprises she holds close to her heart is the ability to put a smile on her patients faces. Its all about the SMILES!

Gina joined The Leesburg Dentists in 2019 with just over a decade of experience. . She graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College Dental Hygiene program in 2011. Patients will notice a different accent from Gina, as she originally is from Lithuania. She now resides in Purcellville with her husband, daughter, and two Labrador Retrievers. Gina enjoys her profession, but when shes not at work, youll find her at the beach.

Judy graduated with honors from The University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined our sta in 2016 with many years of experience, Judy loves working together with a team to help create a comfortable and caring dental experience for each patient. Judy has lived in Leesburg for 25 years with her husband, has one daughter and two amazing granddaughters. In addition to family, she loves to travel.

Becky grew up in Syracuse, NY, and it was there that she earned an A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene from Onondaga Community College in 1984. She comes to our oce with a lot of experience and joined our team in 2016. Becky and her husband became residents of Leesburg in 1994, and enjoyed raising their three children here. In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with family, gardening and staying active.

Heidi joined our hygiene sta in 2019. Before transitioning to the dental field in 2014, she worked as a preschool teacher. Heidi has a BA in psychology and sociology, a MA in School Counseling in addition to her dental hygiene degree. She took quite the winding road to the field of dentistry. Heidi enjoys playing with her sweet and sassy 3 year old daughter. She keeps her busy with reading, baking and discovering. Heidi is active in her church and does enjoy exploring local breweries.

Betty was born in Richmond, VA and lived most of her entire life in Leesburg. She started her medical knowledge as a pharmacy technician at Loudoun Memorial Hospital. Betty was the first employee at Fuller & Spencer-Fuller, PC which is now The Leesburg Dentists. She has been with us since 1987. You will find Betty at the front desk, where she is knowledgeable in almost every aspect of the oce from scheduling, to billing, to insurance. With her 34 years of experience, she has seen us transition from paper to digital, which has not always been easy. In her spare time Betty likes to play golf, bowl, and tend to her flower garden. She does enjoy traveling with her husband and friends. She says, Friends and family are important to me, and being with my second family at the oce is great.

Laura was born and raised inside the beltway in Berwyn Heights, Maryland. Upon completion of hight school at Parkdale Senior High, she attended the University of Maryland. The then relocated to North Carolina where she married and had two children, After many years she moved to Winchester, Virginia. She currently resides with her husband, bob, in Stephens City, Virginia. They enjoy time away relaxing on their boat at Smith Mountain Lake. Lauras history with the practice goes back to the Fuller & Spencer-fuller era, the origins of The Leesburg Dentists. She was hired as a chair-side assistant. Her administrative talents were soon realized and she was transitioned to the Front Desk Administration. As the practice grew, Laura became Oce Manager and worked as administrative assistant to the owners wit Human Resource duties.

Cherie joined The Leesburg Dentists in 2017. Originally from Kansas City, MO, Cherie started in the dental field at the age of 12, working with her dad in his dental oce. From dental assistant to dental manager, she has a broad range of experience in all aspects of family dentistry, and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Cherie is married to her high school sweetheart, Joe. They have two daughters, a son-in-law, and two grand-kitties. They settled in Leesburg a few years ago after 22 years overseas with the federal government.

Patty is a native of Loudoun County, as she was born and raised in Lincoln, VA. In turn she and her husband Jerry raised their 2 sons there as well. Now that she is an empty nester, Patty enjoys going to antique stores and auctions looking for flipper projects. However, her biggest love is her family, friends and especially her new grandson.
