Dr. Koppuzha was born in India and migrated to the US at a young age. Since then, she has lived all over the place, including Minnesota, Kentucky, New York, Florida, and now Texas! She is in love with the weather and food here but most of all, the southern hospitality.
Dr. Koppuzha grew her interest in dentistry in college when watching a dentist work on her brother. She found dentistry to be a form of art as it took great hand skills and a good eye for detail that she knew she possessed due to her background in fine arts. Her passion for dentistry further developed as she learned the impact she had on patients when getting them out of pain or giving them a brand new smile they are proud of. She especially enjoys treating patients with the love and care needed to lessen the fear of dentists many people have.
Dr. Koppuzha completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Florida (Go Gators!), followed by a Masters in Medical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Afterwards, she made a big move to Utah and completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Roseman University of Health Sciences. She furthered her training in dentistry and completed a surgery and endodontics intensive residency program at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York.
In her spare time, Dr. Koppuzha loves to travel, try new foods, practice her new hobby of pyrography, and spend time with family and friends. She is happy to be serving the people of Bastrop and surrounding areas and is excited to get to know everyone through dedicated patient care.
Born and raised in Hallettsville, Texas, Dr. Jaclyn N. Smith received her Doctor of Dental surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After joining The Dentists as an associate in 2004, Dr. Smiths noteworthy skill- particulary in endodontics (root canals) and oral surgery (extractions)- quickly helped her advance to full partnership status in the practice. A mother of two, Dr. Smith especially enjoys her work with our younger patients and provides a gentle, caring presence when performing pediatric dentistry. Her love of working with children also extends to her community outreach activities, where she devotes time and resources to education youngsters on the importance of good oral hygiene through school and daycare programs. Dr. Ross grew up in central Texas in the nearby Georgetown area and has experienced the growth of the Austin area throughout his life. Dr. Ross was elected president of his class at the UT Health San Antonio Dental School and considers his interpersonal interactions the highlights of his day. After graduating dental school Dr. Ross took the opportunity to work in underserved communities in both Oahu and Maui, Hawaii. He also worked and lived on an island called Saipan(a commonwealth of the United States near Guam) in the west Pacific. He has also done volunteer dental work in Mexico, Peru, and many trips to the Texas/Mexico border. Dr. Ross has extra training in sedation techniques and has an interest in surgery and implants on top of routine general dentistry.
Dr. Ross enjoys playing basketball, tennis, riding motorcycles, spearfishing, and surfing. Science, geography, and history pique his interest. If you have lived somewhere outside of Central Texas share your story with him and what you enjoyed about it and how it compares to your current home. Dr. Ross enjoys patient education and is happy to answer questions and address any concerns with previous or future dental treatment to make visiting a dentist as pleasant as it can be.

I highly recommend the Dentists office. Dr Koppuzha and Dr Smith both are highly professional. The dental staff, front desk staff are amazing, office is immaculate.

Fully expecting the usual terrible dental experience full of judgment and pain. I was met with the most professional staff. They had the audacity to be friendly and to see me right on time for my appointment. They fully explained the procedure and offered the most honest recommendation. Instead of pointing out how ridiculous my dental plan was. They explained why such an aggressive approach was not necessary and medically not something they recommend. To make things worse the staff was incredibly empathetic. They noticed each and every time I freaked out. They checked in on me and made sure I was doing okay. They made it completely impossible to complain.

My family and I have been patients at The Dentists for over 20 years. Their friendly, caring team have become like family. A few years ago we moved an hour and a half away from Bastrop, but still have all dental cleaning and procedures performed by the Dentists. I can recommend them without reservation. I was so impressed with everything about the office (it's a very pretty, comfortable atmosphere) and every person on the team who was a part of my exam, etc. and beginning with check in at the front desk. I have never had such an amazing, caring dental experience in my life. From getting me immediate help for my pain, to giving me an excellent referral to a specialist this experience was truly exceptional! The entire staff from reception to the dentist herself were incredibly friendly and helpful.

I'm a new patient at The Dentists in Bastop. I went there just before Christmas for my initial evaluation and checkup/cleaning after leaving my previous dentist who dropped my insurance in August. I must say that never had I had such a pleasant, comfortable and thorough exam like I had at The Dentists. Kari and Dr. Ross were both extremely patient, caring and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They took their time with the exam and cleaning, and explained everything to me in layman's terms. Even the front desk was extremely helpful and worked with me in trying to line up the next steps for my treatment plan. I'm lucky and grateful to have found The Dentists when I did. They are fantastic! I couldn't rave any more about how wonderful the dentists and staff are there. I highly recommend them to anyone in Bastop looking for a good dentist.

Extremely rude employees. I don't recommend this place to no one. Over charging and charge you if you cancel close to your appt. $50 bill in your mailbox plus if you don't get anything done they charge your insurance still as if they did. Money hungry company. There is another dentist in bastrop that doesn't do this and way friendly. By home depot near domino's Pizza. Best place ever.

A very nice facility with state of the art equipment. The entire staff were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. As first time patients, my wife and I were very appreciative of the in depth exam provided and the amount of time our care givers spent with us. Kudos to our Dental Hygienists Kari and Jessica and Kudos to Dr. Koppuzha.

Everyone was really nice & accommodating. I'm a BIG chicken when it comes to pain & they took that into consideration & made me feel Very comfortable. Kari was VERY professional & treated me like I mattered. Not once did I feel rushed & best of all, all my questions were answered in a way that even I could understand them. I was referred to them by my Best Friend (Ty) & he would NEVER steer me wrong & he didn't. Thanks to everyone at THE DENTISTS for making me feel like I mattered. Peace

My family and I are new to Bastrop (and Texas) and needed a new family dentist for my wife, myself, and our three children. My mom was a dental hygienist for 30 years; we had always gone to offices where she worked (she retired shortly before our relocation). I'm incredibly picky when it comes to choosing dental providers. After checking with our insurance provider and reading many local reviews, we decided to give The Dentists a try. To say that we're pleased would be an understatement. They were very flexible with scheduling, the staff was incredibly gracious, and they were terrific with our kids. Such a relief to have found this office; we can't thank them enough for their kindness. :)

I have been going to The Dentists for about 10 years and wouldn't think of going to any other dentist. They run a very friendly office and all the gals and Dr's. are not only friendly but have the latest up to date equipment and makes the dental work a lot less painful than a lot of the old equipment did. Everyone who works there treats everyone with respect and kindness. You can't go wrong by going to this group of dentists and the office folks, they are like one big family. As bad as I hate going to the dentist I don't mind going here and I have to go every 4 months for gum problems. Give them a try you won't regret it!!! This a just a short update to my review. I have recently lost 2 of my teeth and Dr. Lewis took care of it for me. I haven't met a sweeter, nicer and more concerned dentist since I left Las Vegas which was way back in 2004. She has a wonderful bedside?? manner and worries about making sure your numb before she starts. You will feel very comfortable with Dr. Lewis and trust her very fast. I still hate going to the dentist but when you have a Dr. you trust it's not as bad as before. Try them, the whole office staff will do everything possible to work with you and take wonderful care of you!!! This is a edit to my posting about The Dentists in Bastrop I gave them a glowing post but now have to take all that back. They have raised their prices so much if you don't have dental insurance (which I don't)you better find somewhere else to go. For 2 fillings they charged me nearly $600. Too me that's a bit much and for a cleaning is $ 125. They have gone a bit overboard as far as I can tell.

I have spent a great deal of my childhood and adult life in the dentist's chair and I have to say that the entire staff at The Dentists have been great. Very gentle and actually relaxing during cleanings. I highly recommend them.

OMG!! Had 3 fillings today and it was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office. Every time I go into the office, everyone is so nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this group!!!
