His introduction to the art of dentistry was perhaps a bit painful, but altogether integral to his career path. At the age of 15, his upper front tooth was knocked out. Panicked, he wondered what could possibly be done. Seeing how his dentist and team of specialists were able to not only put his tooth back in place, but ensure its long term survival was fascinating to him. And so teenage Dr. Barta began to consider dentistry as a profession.
After graduation from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Dr. Bartas path to forming his own practice saw him work in a variety of settings from a small town practice to a busy corporate dental office. Years of experience and countless procedures helped him realize the importance of personally connecting with patients. He understands that ultimately its the compassion and dedication of a dentist that creates lifelong patients.
With that goal in mind, Dr. Barta has set a standard of excellence for the entire team at The Dentist in Louisville. He has equipped the office with state-of-the-art-technology and offers a variety of services in order to provide top-of-the-line, comprehensive dental care. He strives to help each patient achieve optimal oral health and reach their own oral health goals. He is passionate about treating disease, restoring function, and helping people achieve a smile they are proud of.
Outside of the office, Dr. Barta enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, and disc golfing. When hes not staying active, you might find him cheering on Michigan State athletics, relaxing in a hot spring, eating a delicious meal, enjoying live music, or diving into a new book, show, or movie. His favorite books, shows, and movies are thrillers, fantasy, and comedies. His favorite music genres are funk, blues, rock, folk, and jazz. But, he is always searching for recommendations, so dont hesitate to tell him some of your favorite artists or stories!

Absolutely amazing dentist and office! I had to have a filling done that was particularly tricky. Dr Barta let me know about the potential outcomes beforehand.

I originally called for an emergency repair to my lower permanent retainer (which broke randomly) and have gone back twice for my 6 month cleanings. I would highly recommend Dr. Barta for your dental needs. He's thorough, extremely knowledgeable, detailed, professional and friendly! He really cares about getting to know you and making you feel as comfortable as possible. Kayla does it all (front desk, assistant, etc). She is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about insurance. She makes sure to let you know up front what is covered and what you'll need to pay out of pocket. And she makes you feel like you're the only patient they see :) they don't do any procedures without first checking your policy. Highly recommend!

Dr. Barta and his team are fantastic! It was easy to schedule, everyone was very welcoming, and they all made going to the dentist about as enjoyable as possible! It's clear that Dr. Barta genuinely cares about his patients and takes the time to listen to their needs and educate them about their dental health while having a good time! I highly recommend! Although i am not a resident of Louisville, i visit frequently, and want to say what a wonderful dentist (and team) you have here. They did excellent and pain free work to restore a capped tooth. Great office and excellent people!

I had a great experience at my recent dental appointment. I was grateful that they were able to get me in right away after I had an unexpected issue. Dr. Barta was great at explaining everything and the procedure was painless. The staff was very friendly and the office is clean and updated. I switched dentists to Dr Barta and couldn't be happier. Everyone there is super friendly. The phone is always answered. Its very easy to schedule and get questions answered. I didn't feel rushed at all during my dental experience (which I have with other dentists in the past), he was very thorough and answered all my questions.

Dr. Barta and his team are top notch!! I have seen Dr. Barta twice now- once for a general check up and cleaning and most recently for a dental emergency. Dr. Barta was able to see me within a few hours of calling with my emergency. I had to bring my two young children with me to my appointment and the staff were welcoming and kind to them. I very highly recommend Dr. Barta's office if you are seeking a dentist that is professional, compassionate, utilizes state-of-the-art technology, and is committed to providing excellent and comprehensive patient care!

Went to see Dr. Jay after a history of not going to the dentist as regularly as I should. Dr. Jay was knowledgeable took time to get to know my history. He has a mission to help folks that historically haven't enjoyed the dentist experience and it shows. Will definitely be a regular now!

I am fairly new to the Louisville area and did not yet have a dentist. Over the weekend, I chipped a front tooth and though I was not in pain, it needed to be evaluated. I was aware of this new dental practice here in Louisville, and luckily, they were able to schedule an appt. promptly. It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Barta and his team - all were very kind and professional. Dr. Barta was thorough in his evaluation, and clearly outlined the options for me to consider. I was very happy with the outcome and will be scheduling my regular dental visits with this practice!

I really want to thank The Dentist in Louisville, Dr. Barta and Team! I was in town for work from CA and had really bad tooth pain. The Dentist was close by and had availability, so I scheduled a same day urgent dental appointment. They sent me all the documents to fill out by text link and I filled them out online. They checked my insurance and even let me know some quirks with my policy. I was unsure of what I would expect, but I was blown away! From the front desk to Dr. Barta himself, I felt taken care of! They examined me, came up with a treatment plan, and got me a fix same day that I was comfortable with. They have new technologies and comfortable rooms, even two tvs to watch Netflix on with personal headphones. Having never seen me before, Dr. Barta let me know what he saw and his recommendations. He never pushed me and let ME be in control of my care. The costs were all up front and very reasonable! I even had a great conversation about dental billing and how insurance works. If I didn't live 3 states away, I would make The Dentist in Louisville my full-time dental practice! You are fantastic and I will happily stop in if ever in this area again and in need of care!

Dr. Barta and his staff were awesome! I was impressed that Dr. Barta spent as much time with a patient and not leaving it to the assistant to handle everything. He was clear on my plan going forward and didn't try to sell me on items/procedures that I didn't need. So glad to find a dentist that I won't dread going to.

I first came here for a cleaning and a consultant for a jaw problem I was having, everyone was great and Dr. Barta was able to identify the problem as TMJ and helped me start the process to fixing it the next day. I have come at least 1 a week for the whole summer for my jaw problem and it has been extremely worth it! All of the staff is incredible and I have seen awesome progress for my jaw. Dr. Barta does an amazing job and I highly recommend him and his practice!
