Dr. Rockwell began his undergraduate education at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in 1997. He was recruited to play soccer for CSUF and finished his career in collegiate athletics as captain of the soccer team. During his time at CSUF, the soccer program was ranked as high as 7th in the nation. While competing at a collegiate level, he also maintained an exceptional scholastic record, majoring in Biochemistry and graduating Cum Laude in 2002.

Dentistry entered Dr. Rockwells life through his father-in-law, who is an oral surgeon. Dr. Rockwell set his sights on becoming a dentist after enjoying an opportunity to work in dentistry during summer breaks in college. He was accepted to nearly all of the dental schools that he applied to but was drawn to The University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry (Pacific Dugoni). In 2006, Dr. Rockwell graduated at the top of his class from Pacific Dugoni and was honored with acceptance into the Tau Kappa Omega honor society.

After working in a few different dental offices and clinics, Dr. Rockwell focused on starting his own practice. In 2007, he and his wife Tiana moved to Nevada County with a dream to build a state-of-the-art dental practice dedicated to the health and wellness of the clients that it served. Today, that practice is The Dental Wellness Center of Grass Valley (formerly Rockwell Family Dental).

Tiana and Dr. Rockwell love Nevada County and are energetic advocates for local non-profits. In fact, they were two of the original founding members of Gold Country Triathlon Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of Nevada County through the sport of triathlon. When Dr. Rockwell is at the office, he loves helping patients benefit from positive changes in their lives. When hes away from dentistry, he loves spending time with his wife Tiana, their dogs (Callisto and Sadie), cat (Zoie), family and friends. Exploration and adventure through triathlon, backpacking, travel, hunting, and any other outdoor activity are his hobbies.

Sharon joined the team in April 2014 and enjoys her time in the front office getting to know our patients. She has lived in Nevada County for most of her life and says she couldnt imagine living anywhere else. While attending Nevada Union High School she met her husband, Jim. She has been happily married to Jim since she was 19 years old! They have 2 children, as well as a grandson and granddaughter and 2 very spoiled fur babies who go everywhere with them. When Sharon is not at the office working, you can generally find her outdoors. She loves the sport of triathlon and is hoping to complete a full Ironman distance in 2020. She also love to go camping in her travel trailer, kayaking, hiking and spending time with her grandchildren. When time allows, she enjoys baking and decorating special occasion cakes and cookies.

Kirsten joined the team in August 2008. Kirstens favorite part about being a treatment care coordinator and a registered dental assistant with extended function is being able to spend more time caring for our clients while helping our team be efficient. Her calm and caring personality helps our clients feel at ease when they have dental treatment needs. Outside of the office, Kirsten enjoys learning, reading, working out, hiking and seeing movies with her husband, Sirus.

Erin is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been part of our dental team since 2012. She has lived in Nevada County most of her life. Erin is known to always greet you with a smile. She takes pride in her work and great joy in nurturing the relationships shes developed with her patients. She also focuses on maintaining a gentle hand. Erin has a passion for music, cooking, exercise, traveling, and of course her friends and family. She looks forward to meeting you!

Rosie joined our team in December 2017. She graduated from UC Davis in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. Once she discovered her love for how fitness and nutrition can contribute to wellness, she became certified as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Rosie believes that our bodies run best on a diet composed of properly prepared whole foods, which can lead to improved health for everybody! She is excited to work with our patients to help them understand how a whole body holistic approach to health can contribute to a beautiful, healthy smile.

Rosie works with the team as the Preventative Care Coordinator. In addition to her passion for nutrition, Rosie loves to cook, eat, and garden. She is a Nevada County native- raised on her familys farm in Chicago Park- and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Rosie loves to spend time outside of work exploring the outdoors with her boyfriend and their dogs hiking, fishing, and camping whenever possible!

Taylor joined our team May of 2019. She graduated Dental Hygiene school in 2015, and has spent the last four years working as a dental hygienist in Oakland, CA. She is in love with her career as a hygienist, and loves to talk about it with anyone who will listen! She takes pride in giving the most thorough, yet gentle cleanings. She loves to learn from her patients, always welcomes feedback, and makes it a priority to grow as a dental professional and as a person.

Both her and her husband Justin grew up in Grass Valley and graduated from Bear River High school. They are high school sweethearts and got married in 2016 on their ten year dating anniversary! They have spent the last 11 years living in San Jose, Oakland, and Berkeley enjoying the city life! Outside of the office she enjoys hanging out with her dog, running, playing soccer, and having movie marathons!

Breana has always had an admiration for the work provided by dental professionals which is what fueled her to become a Registered Dental Hygienist and obtain her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She loves building lasting relationships with her patients as well as providing them with a thorough and gentle dental experience. Breana is passionate about the education of oral healthcare and is devoted to giving back to her community, even if it is by one clean smile at a time. Outside of the office, Breana enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, reading, and running with her dog, Maggie.
