Dr. Barry Moretzky graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1987. After graduating, he furthered his education by attending a ten-month course on TMJ syndrome at NYU Dental School. In 1992, Dr. Moretzky completed a one-year course in dental implantology at Brookdale Hospital, located in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Moretzky has also studied straight wire orthodontics and is certified to the highest level that Invisalign, the clear braces alternative, offers. He has also achieved certification in porcelain restorations using the CEREC computerized application method. Dr. Moretzky has enhanced his education regarding implants, bone regeneration, and soft-tissue regeneration via courses offered by respected oral surgeons and periodontists throughout the country.
Dr. Moretzky is an active member in the Academy of Laser Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI). He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI).
Dr. Fara Vossughi is a Periodontist who focuses upon the highest quality of care for her patients. She is both technically and academically outstanding at providing excellent periodontal care in a welcoming and comfortable setting.
She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, 9th District Dental Association and Northeastern Society of Periodontists. She is currently serving on the Member Benefits Committee of the 9th District Dental Association to consider and recommend available benefits of the members to the Board of Governors.
Dr. Vossughi grew up in Germany and graduated in 1996 from Frankfurt University Dental School, where she earned her Dental Degree. She worked for two years as a general dentist in Germany before relocating to the States and attending Columbia University, School of Dental Medicine, where she earned a second Dental Degree and completed a three-year Specialty Program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry receiving a Certificate of Specialty with Masters of Science in 2003.
Dr. Vossughi is holding a faculty position as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Periodontology at Columbia University. She is an active member of the Columbia Implant Study Club. As an educator and clinician, she attends numerous continuing education courses to keep up to date with the latest technologies. She is experienced in all phases of periodontal surgical and non-surgical therapy, implant surgery, sinus lift, ridge augmentation and soft tissue grafting as well as dental extractions.
The main focus of Dr. Vossughi's practice is her patient's comfort. She understands most patients are apprehensive about periodontal therapy and implants, but her objective is to make sure her patients understand the full scope of treatment and all their questions are answered prior to the procedure. She will then skillfully perform the procedure to obtain the optimal result.
Dr. Barry is an artist. He just repaired a cracked tooth -- and of course it had to be one of the main front teeth -- and it looks better now than it did before. Completely pain free. Everyone should be this good at what they do. Mark H
