Dr. Steven Rabedeaux is an Iowa native who has practiced dentistry for more than 30 years. He received his BS from the University of Iowa. In 1984, he completed his DDS at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. His father began The Dental Practice in 1957, and he practiced with him until 1991.
Dr. Parsons grew up in Loveland, Colorado but felt drawn back to his roots in the Midwest. He studied Biology at Northwestern College (Iowa) and then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2014. He furthered his education at the University of New Mexicos Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. This program expanded his skills to include dental implant placement, wisdom tooth removal, denture fabrication, root canal therapy, hospital dentistry, pediatric care, and special needs dentistry. After residency, Dr Parsons spent two years at an inner-city clinic in Albuquerque, NM serving patients of all ages. He is currently pursing a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and is active in local and national dental associations. Dr. Parsons and his wife, Jennifer have two sons, Aiden and Eli and two daughters, Emma and Alyza.
Dana Anderson has been with The Dental Practice since 2012. Dana and her husband Andy, who works for Skokan Construction, have two daughters, Makatlyn and Khyrssa. When not at a dance class for the girls, the family enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends.
Ashley has been with The Dental Practice since 2018. Ashley grew up in Texas. She moved to Newton in 2008 and graduated from Newton High School in 2011. She has experience in medical insurance, scheduling, and reception. Ashley and her husband, Justin, enjoy being outdoors with their black lab, Drake, and spending time with family and friends.
Jeri has been with The Dental Practice since 2000. She graduated from the University of Iowa Dental Hygiene program. She has practiced dental hygiene since 1983, and has been caring for patients in the Newton area for over 30 years. Jeri and her husband, Tom, live on a farm near Grinnell, IA. They have twins, Catelyn and Christian. Jeri enjoys her flower gardens, antiques, scrapbooking, and tending to the critters on the farm. She treasures her time spent with family and friends.
Maria has been with The Dental Practice since 2007. She graduated from the University of Iowa and has practiced dental hygiene since 1994. Maria and her husband, Doug, have five children. Marias husband, Doug, works at Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance, and their family resides in Newton. Free time is rare for Maria, but she enjoys golfing, walking, and spending time with her family.
Ashley joined The Dental Practice in 2019. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College and has been practicing dental hygiene since 2010. Ashley and her husband, Ted, live in the country near Baxter. They have two children Eli and Arabelle, two Great Danes, and two outdoor cats. When Ashley is not working you will catch her snapping pictures, painting pictures, or cheering on her favorite sports teams the Hawkeyes or Baxter Bolts!
Erin has been with The Dental Practice since September 2015. She graduated from TeachTech Newton, Dr. Rabedeauxs school for dental assisting. Erin is a registered and expanded function dental assistant, which allows her to provide a variety of additional patient services. Erin and her husband Austin enjoy spending time outdoors kayaking and riding their SXS with her son Lane. In her free time, Erin enjoys gardening, tending to her goats, and playing with her two dogs.
Ashley has been with The Dental Practice since 2007. She completed her education at Kirkwood College in 2006. Ashley is a certified and expanded function dental assistant, which allows her to provide a variety of additional patient services. Ashley and her husband, Nathan, married in January 2018. They enjoy working out, hunting, spending time with family, and volunteering. They have a miniature dachshund named Tobi.
Kennedy joined The Dental Practice in 2018 and graduated from Vatterott College in Des Moines, IA. She completed her final clinical rotation at our office. Today, she is a certified and expanded function dental assistant, which allows her to provide a variety of patient services. Kennedy enjoys kayaking, rollerblading, and spending time with her friends and family.
Bella Main has been with The Dental Practice since June of 2021. She is a 2021 high school graduate! She is the second oldest of 8 kids and lives here in Newton. She is currently enrolled in Teach Tech Newton, Dr. Rabedeauxs school for dental assisting. Throughout high school she enjoyed many activities such as training and studying classical ballet, participating in church youth group, and all things outdoors! Dentistry has always fascinated Bella, and she is excited for the opportunity to train as a dental assistant.

Racks up insurance then expects you to pay full amount out of pocket before they see you or your children. Have a tooth that's broken in half meat showing just need it pulled darn near the best insurance out there now but want full balance paid before an appointment can even be set up. Covid has killed people's income and they still make a killing off those suffering with their ridiculous prices.

I will be in your office to discuss the matter of my personal account details being posted publicly on your review section on behalf of my husband. Respectfully ask to have the comment either edited to remove the details of our account, and or comment removed entirely. I feel completely inappropriate ans unprofessional on a business level. Including the staff up fronts attitudes and responses to my husband's need for care. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate entirely. I hope you revise the way they treat and talk to patients.

Had cavities & Bonding today. The staff is awesome! Dr Carson made sure i was num bailey felt needle. My smile is back and i feel great. Thank you.

I am repeatedly impressed with the staff at The Dental Practice! Dr. Parsons evaluated my daughter for oral ties and performed the procedure the same day and then called us that evening to see how she was doing. He then personally called us a week later when I had further questions and also connected with me via email with another issue. I am throughly impressed with his chair side manner, especially with my kids! Highly, highly recommend! My husband and myself have seen Dr. Rabedeaux as well and he, too was thorough and listened to our concerns, helped steer us to the right treatment options. Everyone in the office, from the front desk, assistants and hygienists are so welcoming and help the whole dental experience go seemlessly! What a gem to have in small town Iowa!

I had an awesome experience at this office. Dr. Parsons is very personable and explained everything so it made sense for me. I feel he cared about my overall health in general as well as getting to know who I am as a person. Every staff member I encountered there was amazing. Kennedy remembered many details about me that she relayed to Dr. Parsons. Ashley is very sweet and did a great job cleaning my teeth. The other Ashley was very helpful with my questions about billing and insurance. I had went there once previously as well to get a tooth pulled by Dr. Rabedeaux and he and his assistant Ashley were also very comforting and informative and did a great job. I highly recommend this office to anyone.

This place is like every other place in newton gotta have the right insurances or guess what gotta drive 45 miles i cant i dont own a car i have had a broken tooth with Nerve showing massive infection but these people can only severe certain people in the newton community you need to turn in your damn Dentist license.

My experience over the years have been amazing. They're really good with my kids. Always friendly. I went to Dr Rabedeaux unhappy with the size of front implants I had and still having a hole in my smile. I would never try to show my teeth in any pictures. When I tell you he fixed my smile is an understatement. He gave me back the smile that I had for most of my life. I cried when I saw my teeth for the first time and I ugly cried when I got to the car. Thank you Dr Rabedeaux you gave me pure happiness and my smile back!

The Dental Practice is unlike any other dental office I've visited before. Everything is so clean. The staff and doctors are so professional. The experience here is exceptional. I would highly recommend TDP to anyone searching for quality dental care.

Wonderful service and staff. Dr Rabedeaux saw me per scheduled appointment . I was going for a consultation to get new dentures. Another dentist and lab in a different state ruined my dentures and to top it all I had inplants. After checking it all out he informed me he could fix my implants and dentures, saving me $4000.dollars. At 87years old he saved my teeth plus all that money. He is the best dentist I have ever been to and he was so good at what he does plus his staff. I have the utmost respect for his quality of care. I will tell all my friends and family about him.

Ashley (I think was her name), the dental hygienist was so gentle! Not that the staff have ever been rough, but shes definitely top notch. Thanks for making a trip to the dentist not a terrifying experience ;)
