A 1988 licensed graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio. Dr. Carlos Jaramillo served 14 years in the United States Navy as a Navy Commander providing dental services to Navy sailors and marines abroad. After his tours of duty he opened his new office in Portland TX where he has been practicing at The Dental Place since 2001.
Lydia has been married to the doctor since 1989 and together have raised three children, Andrew, Anthony, and Sarah. She handles the operational, organizational, and managerial responsibilities of the dental office.
Holly Irvin has been fully licensed since 2006. She graduated from Stark State College of Technology Canton Ohio where she earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She has been a member of our team since 2006. Her contagious personality and gentle technique makes your routine dental cleaning an enjoyable experience
Lydia Grace Rangel has been fully licensed since 2009. She is a graduate from Del Mar College where she earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Lydia opened up and called me in to do my teeth cleaning. Very cordial and provided great customer service all during my visit this morning. Dr. Jamarrilo came in and Lydia indicated no issues. Dr. Jamarrilo discussed an option for one of my teeth which I was able to ask questions and get information needed to make a decision. Great customers service, friendly staff and a great dentist. Thank you Dental Place for a great and pleasant visit today.

My wife, son and I all go to the The Dental Place and are so pleased with the level of care we get each time we go. We always look forward to our visit, which says a lot when going to a dentist. From the reception desk to the hygienist and dentist they make you feel comfortable and welcome. Great place!

Could not ask for more, this place is great! Dentist - Great, always explains things thoroughly and is professional. Dental assistants - Great and keeps me laughing the whole time. Very easy to talk to. Receptionist - AMAZING and a huge reason we continue to go there (even though we don't live in town anymore). She goes out of her way to accommodate you and is always super friendly in person and on the phone.

Very welcoming staff. Mr. Jaramillo was extremely personable and knowledgeable. Unfortunately my dental situation is more severe and he recommended a specialist, but I will refer everyone to this local gem.

For years I've been coming to The Dental Place and never had a bad experience. The receptionist is always so professional and very accommodating, always making sure that I'm reminded of my appointment. The staff are so professional, always on point. The atmosphere they provide is wonderful that it makes you feel welcome.

My visit went exceptionally well. I was taken in almost immediately. After a quick review of my dental situation, exrays were taken. Then Dr. Jaramilo examined my teeth and disscussed with me his impression of the dental work that should be done. Then he proceeded to do the work. I experienced no pain or discomfort. Next his assistant cleaned and polished my teeth. I was asked several times if I was okay. which I replied yes. It was a very successful experience.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Maria is good with helping us out and dr j is amazing at what he does for me and my husband. The staff is awesome. Everyone there makes you feel so comfortable and I have experienced no pain when I get my teeth worked on or with the shots. This is my favorite dentist place and my husband that we have ever went too.

Dr Jaramillo is amazing! He does what needs to be done and doesn't try to force you into a lot of unnecessary extras. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is like being with family!
