Dr. David Allen, former co-owner of AA Dental Care in Quincy, Illinois, has been practicing state-of-the-art dentistry with his twin brother and former partner Dr. Doug Allen for over 25 years. Dr. Dave Allen, current owner of The Dental ER in Macomb, Illinois, is a native of Quincy and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1983. He then graduated from Quincy University in 1986 and from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1990. He holds a BS degree in both biology and chemistry and the degree of DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine).
Dr. Allen takes a heavy load of CE (continuing education) (four to five times the required amount per year) to keep his knowledge and skills. He has amassed over 2,000 CE hours in orthodontics, TMJ treatment (chronic migraine and tension headaches) and sleep apnea treatment alone. He is a certified senior instructor with the International Association for Orthodontics (IAO), the largest organization in the world for general dentists doing orthodontic treatment. Dr. Dave resides in Quincy with his wife, Dottie.
Angie has been with The Dental ER since opening in February 2017, helping Dr. Dave with tasks prior to opening. She worked with Dr. Dave and Dr. Doug at AA Dental Care in Quincy previously for over ten years. Angie is a Certified Dental Assistant with certificates in coronal polishing, pit and fissure sealants, and nitrous oxide sedation monitoring from SIU Alton Dental School. She graduated from Quincy Senior High School (Quincy, Illinois) in 2003. Angie has been married to her talented husband for over five years and been together for over ten years. They have four children: their daughter, Austyn, and three sons, Denver Lee III, Brayden and Lincoln. They also have three step-grandchildren: Mason, Nolly and Irie. Lil Bit is their super-chihuahua/ terroir-chihuahua mix dog.
Her contractor husband owns a monster truck named Venom and they go on the road to monster truck events, even hosting a show once a year in their hometown of Quincy, Illinois. They love to go camping, fishing and hunting. Angie has a collection of deer, turkey, hog, black bear, caribou, alligator, and rams she has hunted herself. For fun, she sometimes plays softball and sand volleyball recreationally with siblings and friends. I just love to be outside so I could be doing anything or nothing and be happy as long as Im outside enjoying the company of my family and friends.
A lot of the responsibilities of our office are shared between all of us, which is what makes us such a great team. We all work so well together and can fill in wherever needed at that time. I have been with Dr. Dave for so long that his ethics and knowledge in dentistry are now a big part of who I am, and I couldnt imagine working anywhere else with anyone else.
Dee has been with The Dental ER for over eight months. She graduated Lewistown High School in 2004, received her associate degree from Spoon River College in 2007, and has received her Dental Assistant Certification from DANB. She is certified in Infectious Control as well as Radiation Health and Safety from Midwest Tech Institute since 2014.
Besides assisting Dr. Dave every day, Dee also preps trays for procedures, takes X-rays, sterilizes instruments, maintains equipment and cleans operatories. She also does lab work including pouring up and grinding down dental models and fabricating custom trays, retainers and bleaching trays. She prioritizes her time and workload by maintaining the flow of the office. She says of her job:
I enjoy assisting people to achieve a happy and healthy smile. It is my pleasure to get to know our patients on a personal level and ensure they feel comfortable in the chair and have a positive experience, sometimes changing their outlook on going to the dentist It is my desire to make every patient experience comfortable and have them leave with confidence.

Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. They got me in right away and explained everything to me. Im painless now and it barely cost me anything. Will always recommend them!

I am traveling from out of state. I was in intense pain the other day. I called their Macomb office and they were able to get me in. The office staff, assistant and dentist were all very kind and helpful. I've had no pain or discomfort since they pulled my molar. I highly recommend this dentist

I was seen the following day that I called, I was treated great from my phone call, the whole staff was very caring and professional. I had a tooth pulled, I couldn't of ever dreamed of how easy and painless it turned out to be. Then when I was paying, it was so much cheaper than the price quoted. I will definitely be returning here and highly recommend this office.

While on vacation in Macomb Il I had a problem with a tooth three days' worth of pain I contacted " The Dental ER. I told them my problem and was told to show up first thing the next day. I arrived the next day a little early the young lady at the front desk assisted me in filling out the paperwork, then straight to the back for the Dentist. At 60 years old I've visited many dentists this guy was the best, he told me my options and went to work. David Allen is the best in the business all of staff were top notch. If in that area again in would feel honored or him to work on me. Steven Churning

Dr Allen is absolutely the best dentist l have ever been to. Other dentist could take a page or two from his book. I broke a front tooth off at the gum line. I arrived at 9am the next morning and left at 10am with a new tooth. Outstanding. Thanks

They did great work but when it came to billing they messed up my entire credit. Every time I reached out to try and get this resolved, they never answered and never returned my call. Very disappointed and will never go back or refer.
