Whether its cooking, model building, or making pottery, Dr. Fan loves doing things with his hands and the intense concentration that comes from that type of work. While he was in college, he joined a volunteer organization that hosted many medical outreaches in Mexico, and he saw firsthand how dental services were always in very high demand. He realized that oral healthcare was a service where his efforts could make a direct, positive impact, and it was a great fit for his natural talents to boot. Today, he couldnt imagine working in any other profession.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of California in San Diego, Dr. Fan pursued his doctorate at New York University College of Dentistry. He also completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He still regularly attendings continuing education program to this day in order to further his clinical knowledge and learn the latest techniques in dentistry for the sake of his patients.
While Dr. Fans parents currently live in Taiwan, his grandparents and uncles are here in the United States. Outside of work, one of his biggest passions is volunteering with an international charitable organization called the Tzu Chi Foundation. In Chinese, Tzu Chi means compassionate relief, which is what the organization strives to provide in times of disaster and peace alike. He also really enjoys cooking especially stir fry dishes, which are made by tossing multiple fresh ingredients into a wok with blazing fire for that wonderful, fire-kissed flavor.
Recently, Dr. Fan has been bitten by the travel bug, and he enjoys getting to witness the heritage of different cultures in lots of different places. One of his most recent trips was to Istanbul, Turkey, where he saw thousand-year-old structures standing among new neighborhoods. The experience really put how time flows into perspective for him!
Kay has been with our practice since 2008, and has been involved in dentistry for more than 30 years. She is a Texas girl who attended Carroll High School in Corpus Christi and then Texas A&M University. Kay also attended Eppright Business School Quest Management Seminars. She loves meeting and helping people.
Brenda has lived in Austin for over 14 years. She has over 15 years of customer service experience. As a mother of 3, she has been a very active volunteer for AISD. Brenda's interests lies in live music and camping.
Amanda was born and raised in Austin, Working since the age of 16, she enjoys the most working in a dental office; greeting patients, checking them in and out, and she is always in a positive mood. She loves to spend her free time with her daughter and family, or staying home watching scary movies. Amanda loves to look up new recipes to try and make them for her family. She looks forward to expanding her career in the dental field, and raising her daughter as a first time mom.
Mirna first joined our dental team six years ago, and she has eight years of overall experience in the dental world. She received her training at Allied Health Careers, and she loves that the whole practice feels like family.
Originally from Madisonville, Mirina has eight sisters, six brothers, and four sons. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She describes herself as a friendly, hardworking, and loyal person.
Tori is from Lockhart, and she has been a member of our practice for three years. She underwent her dental training at Everest Institute. What she enjoys most about her job is being able to see the patients leave satisfied, and she also loves spending time with the other happy and friendly staff members.
As a 2002 graduate from the Dental program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Mark has 17 years of dental hygiene experience to bring to the Dental Centre. He prides himself on providing thorough, yet gentle, cleanings for his patients and really enjoys getting to know his patients and building lasting friendships with them while providing the highest quality care.
In his spare time, Mark shoots photography, provides soundtrack music for film and TV, & plays select shows with his band, Del Castillo. Mark also enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife, Candy, and his two amazing boys, Dorian & Julian.
Born and Raised in Austin Texas. I've been in the dental field for 10 years. I really enjoyed working in the dental field because I love to be a part of making people feel beautiful and confident about their smile. Seeing patients walking out of the chair all happy just makes my day!
Outside of the dental office I am a busy mother of two boys and one fur baby (our French bulldog Yoda.) We are always busy with sports on the weekends and love to be outdoors. I enjoy kayaking, spending time with family and friends & I love to dance.
